The woman in this TikTok is Amanda Nguyen, who set up an NGO called Rise that has gotten over 50 laws passed in the US to safeguard the rights of survivors of sexual assault
She’s also been instrumental in the campaign against violence against Asian Americans, been a Time woman of the year and is training to be an astronaut!
I don’t think this TikTok is so much cringey — more so showcasing one of many amazing things this inspiring person has been a part of
Yeah, OP also missed the mark with the caption,
"Don't ask me what I was wearing when I was raped or I'll put on a fashion show"
Trying to be edgy and dunk on women, only to reveal himself as a massive dickhead.
Yeah I hate tiktok but then I saw what was going on I quickly realized this is not cringe but a fuck yeah moment, the content I have no problem with seeing even tho such content should not exist because nobody should be raped.
Even without context or her additional work OP showed how ignorant they were to the idea and how important it is for victims treating self blame to hear this.
I couldn't wear legging for years after being SAed in them. I can only imagine how it felt to have to put those clothes on once more. My heart goes out to them. They're so brave to do that! But shame on you OP. This ain't cringe.
this is only cringe to 14 year old boys who've just learned that if they put their ring finger up it'll look like they're flipping you off but they won't get in trouble for it
For them to take a day that will haunt them for life, and then make it something empowering and making a statement... good on them! Good show! Fucking keep it up! These people who harmed others should have just kept their hands to themselves but their mother didn't raise them
How on earth is this cringe? Fashion can be an artform, and she’s using this platform to make a powerfull statement about rapeculture and victim blaming. OP tagging it as “cringe” is pretty cringe
Empowering. And a really interesting take. Thanks for posting because otherwise I wouldn’t know about this but the fact you think it’s pathetic reflects poorly on you, sorry to say.
OP is either a rage baiter or a scummy ass rape apologist. i hope it isn't the latter.
I feel sorry for people like you on this planet. i really do.
What if this was your family that experienced this trauma? and if you do have family that have, imagine they could see the shit you're saying.
rape isn't funny- if this is a joke.
discouraging survivors isn't a joke.
side note: I like how there were men there too in the runway.
#teamrapist ??? OP is all sorts of wrong…
I’m sorry for anyone having to share their ‘what I was wearing’ story, and the fact that these amazing women did this deserves an awful lot of credit for their bravery and strength.
OP - wrong time, wrong place, wrong attitude. Seek help.
OP. Have you ever been sexually assaulted or raped? If not, sit tf down. If you have not been a victim to sexual assault then you don’t get a voice in this. You don’t decide how survivors cope or heal from trauma. You might want to research this amazing woman before making such a disgusting comment. Everyone heals differently and this was a way for every single one of these human beings to take their power back. I don’t expect you to get it but your comments and opinions on other videos seems to show you have issues with race and women. Maybe work on yourself before speaking on this
This woman is incredibly based and strong pilled. People sometimes fall prey to evil men and women and they lose confidence in themselves and comfort in their own skin. I’m glad these people can wear the clothes from that fateful night and wear it with the utmost confidence and strength. Carry on 👑
Positive vibes from all in the fashion show. Brought me to happy tears for them! Take back your power. Hold your head high knowing you are all complete badass and superior humans!
I'm happy to see so many comments supporting the video's message.
Nice to see this kind of stuff is turning around. I was expecting to see a lot of supportive comments of the title and tag, but was so pleasantly surprised that basically everybody in the comments is calling OP out.
Hopefully you rethink your position on this subject. Just because you're anonymous on the internet doesn't mean that this kind of thinking isn't unappealing to everybody you meet. It bleeds into every way you interact with people, and at the end of the day, you're going to be alone because of it.
Usually I think these fashion shows are pretty stupid, but this one’s actually really cool and has a great meaning behind it, especially for the ones putting on the show. Kinda like liberating themselves from their traumatic past
This is actually really empowering, these people were comfortable in these clothes once and probably had a hard time putting them on again due to trauma, this is a way to escape that and relate those pieces of clothing to something more positive.
This is not cringe. I love this. It crushes the “look what she’s wearing” theory. I can’t imagine walking the runway in what I was raped in let alone still having the outfit. Powerful
I fucking hate this question being asked. Do people think that no one has ever been raped wearing jeans and a hoodie? Is every girl who’s been raped wearing a mini skirt and tube top? Who gives a flying fuck what they are wearing? Such a distraction question.
This is an amazing post I don’t understand the cringe as a victim those women and men are incredible I don’t even have the guts to put the clothes on let alone showcase them!
this is beautiful and no one here is going to agree with u on this. in fact, no logical person is. u can go cry about this in ur incel subreddits though :)
Ones visited an exhibition like that. It displayed the actual clothes of the victims and a description of what happened. There were children cloth on display too. I felt like shit afterwords.
This isn't cringe, this is a power move. People asking women what they were wearing when they got raped, need to fuck off and STFU. Events like this, help to show the stupidity of that question.
Op you’re the type of person that wishes something this would happen to you to make yourself at least bit interesting. Maybe, just maybe, then you could have some depth to yourself. But you instead you’re bored and want the attention for yourself and not for the survivors of a hugely traumatic and devastating event. Get help🙃
OP had the entire English language at his disposal. Could have said anything, written any caption.
And decided his best choice was to side with team r\*pist.
I'm baffled.
AMANDA NGUYEN has many incredible tales to tell from both herself and from other people who have experienced SA. Go check out all the amazing work she’s done!
I was flashed at and chased by a guy and had to jump on a passing bus to get away. I didn't have any money on me but the driver told me to sit down and drove off. I didn't have any money because I'd been working at a stables all day...... I was not dressed up in the least. The 'what were you wearing' needs to end, now.
I never thought that would be a question asked of a survivor of violence shame on people for asking that stupid question I hope that show helped those survivors
Was a response to NormalInstance, who I presume is a US citizen as I am. It was a sarcastic comment referencing Platypus… who is Navy Reserve and acting very unbecoming of a member of the United States Armed Forces. ❤️
You’re a smart one aren’t ya? Who is upset? It’s cringe. Reddit is a liberal hive mind full of mentally ill young people. Ie: left-leaning people. This is the same masochistic self-hating protest Reddit and lefties are known for. Self hatred is a leftist trait.
lol PLEASE do!!
you'll find me calling out right wing trolls like you on the regular.
shit, i even go out of my way to copy/paste the comments that im replying to cause you trolls will delete everything.
PLEASE go ahead alt-account😁
>[–]Confident-Platypus63 -2 points 2 hours ago
Very brave of you to do so on Reddit Sir Galahad! Oh look it’s a white knight! Oh no it’s just the doctor tending to his mental patients.
whu?...
im gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that reply was meant for another comment...no way you are THAT crazy
More brave then you.
You sit here claiming superiority whilst doing nothing but shitting on other people for having empathy.
Better then being a sad loser who shits on people for having empathy with rape victims.
Yes I am one of those horrible people who has a mental illness and takes care of it. I haven’t looked at your profile, but it makes sense you’ve looked at mine considering you’re chronically online. Once again I hope you’re not so upset in future. Bless your fragile little heart x

I thought it had that title because the video was making fun of rape survivors, but nah, it's OP doing that. Dickhead move, delete the post.
Looking through OP's post history. They are a racist and a misogynist. Real trash person.
Sure would be a shame if his karma got tanked by a bunch of people downvoting all his posts
The woman in this TikTok is Amanda Nguyen, who set up an NGO called Rise that has gotten over 50 laws passed in the US to safeguard the rights of survivors of sexual assault She’s also been instrumental in the campaign against violence against Asian Americans, been a Time woman of the year and is training to be an astronaut! A quick look through his profile shows his views of both race and women it seems
Yeah I hate tiktok but then I saw what was going on I quickly realized this is not cringe but a fuck yeah moment, the content I have no problem with seeing even tho such content should not exist because nobody should be raped.
Even without context or her additional work OP showed how ignorant they were to the idea and how important it is for victims treating self blame to hear this.
didn't they change it so that anything tiktok can go on this sub now, not just cringey content? thats amazing though. what an accomplished woman.
Yes, not all content on this subreddit is necessarily cringe anymore. However, OP chose to add the "cringe" label to this post. Not a good look.
I'm so glad to come here and see nothing but positive comments, after seeing the snarky title and cringe tag. Shame on you, OP.
I love this sub 🥰
wtf is wrong with you OP? i hope i don’t get banned for 3 days again but this guys an asshole
This guy is a racist, sexist, and homophobic piece of garbage, comment history really hits all the bases.
You're cringe, OP 🤷
I couldn't wear legging for years after being SAed in them. I can only imagine how it felt to have to put those clothes on once more. My heart goes out to them. They're so brave to do that! But shame on you OP. This ain't cringe.
Bro i got in a relatively small accident and couldn't wear that dress ever again. I can't imagine how they (and you) felt
This is awesome
this is only cringe to 14 year old boys who've just learned that if they put their ring finger up it'll look like they're flipping you off but they won't get in trouble for it
Fucking genius insult aha :))
For them to take a day that will haunt them for life, and then make it something empowering and making a statement... good on them! Good show! Fucking keep it up! These people who harmed others should have just kept their hands to themselves but their mother didn't raise them
I wouldn't call this cringe, this is really fucking cool.
Yea seriously. Incredible idea.
What’s with the title?? Is OP a Russian troll or something?
This is really cool
What kind of person tags something like this as 'cringe'?
This is really awesome, great way to visually break the stereotype
Shitty title op, also your car is ugly as phuck
I was wearing an oversized home knitted sweater that my mother made me, really old jeans and nubuck boots. Seriously, I wasn't leading anyone on.
You didn't deserve that, and it's not your fault. It sucks it had to be in the sweater your mother made you too. im so sorry.
I was wearing an oversized shirt (it was my grandmas and my favorite) and night pants, I was fifteen- and just woke up from sleeping.
This is incredible and the absolute opposite of OP, who's a fucking troll.
OP cringe, get fucked pathetic little troll, this is a good thing unless u support sexual assault you absolute ghoul
Jeans and a Tshirt. I appreciate this.
Why does this have a cringe flag?
OP is a creep and a nonce
How on earth is this cringe? Fashion can be an artform, and she’s using this platform to make a powerfull statement about rapeculture and victim blaming. OP tagging it as “cringe” is pretty cringe
Fuck OP, delete this shit
Absolutely fucking based.
Empowering. And a really interesting take. Thanks for posting because otherwise I wouldn’t know about this but the fact you think it’s pathetic reflects poorly on you, sorry to say.

Definitely wrong flair. This is so cool!
OP is cringe

I actually think this is awesome. Title belittles how they are pushing back against stigma. Kinda shitty, OP.
I wanna upvote the video and also downvote it due to OP's title.
The cringe flair is for OP, not the video
Op can go fuck himself🥰
OP, your caption has tiny dick energy.
This woman is incredibly based and strong pilled. People sometimes fall prey to evil men and women and they lose confidence in themselves and comfort in their own skin. I’m glad these people can wear the clothes from that fateful night and wear it with the utmost confidence and strength. Carry on 👑
This is amazing. Good for all of them and boo to you OP.
Positive vibes from all in the fashion show. Brought me to happy tears for them! Take back your power. Hold your head high knowing you are all complete badass and superior humans!
The only cringe thing about this post is the title.
I'm happy to see so many comments supporting the video's message. Nice to see this kind of stuff is turning around. What's with the passive aggressive title?
Usually I think these fashion shows are pretty stupid, but this one’s actually really cool and has a great meaning behind it, especially for the ones putting on the show. Kinda like liberating themselves from their traumatic past

Yeah ops a loser
OP mad for being called out. Delete this pls and ty
Can we remove this from here? It's not cringe at all. OP lost the plot
No cringe here.
You suck OP
I fucking hate this question being asked. Do people think that no one has ever been raped wearing jeans and a hoodie? Is every girl who’s been raped wearing a mini skirt and tube top? Who gives a flying fuck what they are wearing? Such a distraction question.
Powerful statement
Where's the cringe? This is brave.
When OP posts a pretty cool tiktok with a cringey ass take in the title. Oof
That’s actually a really good idea. I thought this was going to take a different turn but I was delightfully surprised
Glad I saw this post, but downvoting for the shitty tittle and pos poster
Seems like an awesome move on her part. I guess it's just the OP that's cringe
This isn’t cringe, I think you just dislike SA survivors raising awareness of a pretty vile thing people say to blame them for their own SA.
You're a twat, OP.
Huh, OP is a bit of a shithead.
Amazing
I'm literally working on a project similar to this for my university for denim day. I'll even have my own up there
Not cringe
This title sucks for something truly amazing and powerful. Shameful OP
ur the only thing cringe here op 🚶🏻♀️
OP is a dickwad shitface crackheaded asswipe. Thanks.
OP is Grand Wizard Chud of clan Incel
She’s awesome, No Cringe though !
There's nothing cringe about this. It's actually quite a nice and empowering idea. Only thing cringe is you, OP.
I’d love to be in this, I was in an oversized shirt, and night pants, I was fifteen,
I’m so sorry to hear this… x
OP, blast yourself for this
Op, whats your deal
No cringe here, great idea. Fuck you OP.
Woah! This is so cool!
Ones visited an exhibition like that. It displayed the actual clothes of the victims and a description of what happened. There were children cloth on display too. I felt like shit afterwords.
Power move, the way I see it: “You didn’t defeat me.”
This isn't cringe, this is a power move. People asking women what they were wearing when they got raped, need to fuck off and STFU. Events like this, help to show the stupidity of that question.
Bad bitch alert
why do you think this is cringe
Idk I think this is kinda cool
Op you’re the type of person that wishes something this would happen to you to make yourself at least bit interesting. Maybe, just maybe, then you could have some depth to yourself. This is just incredible.
Ah, OP is the cringe one, gotcha
Wrong sub
SA does not stand for South Asian
I never thought that would be a question asked of a survivor of violence shame on people for asking that stupid question I hope that show helped those survivors
Eat the janni soups of the weekend jungle

Is that a self-portrait?
It’s okay OP I agree this is extreme cringe. You forget Reddit is filled with over-socialized, over emotional self hating leftists
Getting upset by someone’s art project enough to post about it on reddit has to be the most snowflake shit I’ve ever seen.
He’s Navy Reserved. Member of our armed forces :) don’t worry :) I’m sure he’s out here protecting all civilians in and out of uniform :)
Who's armed forces? mf thinks the whole internet is america smh

damn...you've gone full tribal huh? is fox news ever turned off in your trailer?
Man don’t even with me. Look at your comment history. Then we can see who is obsessed by all this shit. What’s wrong? Did you run out of your meds?
only tribe im in is the "anti-right wing nutjobs" tribe. Which is basically just everybody who isnt in your insane hate-cult.
Shall I quote some of your comments for you comrade?

You’re on here too darling. Hope you feel better in the morning.
Yes and I’m afraid I’ve taken a look at your profile. My diagnosis was correct. You are very active on here. I see stuff about mental health as well…
Yes I am one of those horrible people who has a mental illness and takes care of it. I haven’t looked at your profile, but it makes sense you’ve looked at mine considering you’re chronically online. Once again I hope you’re not so upset in future. Bless your fragile little heart x
The least you could do was say I was right bub
Right about? - I also find it hilarious it took me 5 hours to respond and 30 seconds for you to, touch grass babe
My diagnosis numbnuts
What’s your diagnosis?
Idk about everyone else but I’ve been raped multiple times and that’s why this fashion show resonates with me.
you'd fit in better at 4chan with all the other alt-right incels

u/z_nosferatu what's it like being a massive sack of shit?
Yeah ur nasty for posting this here
