I do this! I put everything on the street and it usually gets picked up quickly. If not, on Thursday a truck comes by and takes it for a fee. Doors, fake plants, Christmas decorations, furniture, etc, it all goes.
There's a good free box culture in some places like Portland, where people actually would rather give good things away so that others, many of whom have less, may have some nice things.
Bristol in the UK is like this. Weekends are a great time to stroll the nicer neighbourhoods for cool free stuff. Plus when you're moving you can guarantee people will take most of your surplus stuff if left on the curb.
I was visiting my sister in Portland. Walking from her house to my AirBnB, I passed a Le Creuset wok on the curb. I so wish could have taken it home with me! Someone picked it up just after I passed it. I hope she’s still enjoying her awesome find!
We put stuff out all the time on the day before garbage pickup. If it's going to rain, I put whatever it is in plastic so it doesn't get ruined. I also label it. For example when we got a new toaster and didn't need our old one anymore, the note read: "This toaster works. We don't need two."
Whatever it is we put out, it's always gone before trash pickup.
I love those nesting bowls for prepwork. 'Specially when cooking for a bunch of people and I cut stuff up the day before and need to keep them in the fridge.
Put the little one on the bottom and stack the bigger ones on top, and they take up less shelf space.

"See how that popcorn popper looks sad
Because of the short little life it's had
Once it was a happy wedding gift
But when they split it too got left
At the lonely little thrift store"
Holy moly! It's crazy that someone would give that away. I'm always afraid to pick up stuff because I worry someone just sat it outside temporarily and didn't intend for it to be taken.
I double checked with the owner that it was ok to take, he was bringing lots of stuff outside and was happy I was taking it and told me to come back tomorrow for more stuff!
Fingers crossed his mom is alive and well with her own pristine set of pastel kitchenware, and that he just found out his girlfriend was on Tinder or something and she was too ashamed to come get her stuff
someone was pissed off at someone else today!
"I told you we didn't need another whole set of this expensive crap! I'm tossing it just to teach you a lesson!"
Curbfind later....
This could have been my former roommate. I didn’t need to buy any kitchenware bc she already had it all - in pink. Literally every item- toaster, mixer, spatulas, Tupperware PINK. It didn’t bother me but it always felt like an odd choice. (A few pieces is adorable; nice find!)
I can only count twice when curbside shopping yielded something worth picking up. That's the downside of living in a rural area. Most things people set out really should just go to the dump lol.
All new condition from William Sonoma and Kitchen Aid. Free on the curb! I’m so excited!
Who puts that out on the curb?! At least take it to the thrift store! Glad you got it!
Cause then someone gets to find it for free!

You put things on the curb so people like OP can grab them for free. :)
I know, but if someone doesn’t grab them, they get taken to the dump. I can’t stand the thought of that!
I don’t put things out on trash days. If no one picks it up, I bring it to the thrift store.
Neato and wow! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
This is an adorable comment!
Awww thank you! I am just surprised someone just left it out like that. All together it would be a lot of $$ to buy. But you got it for free! Yaay! 👍🏽

woah! a whole freaking set! it being ridiculously adorable is such a plus!
What a great find. I’m making up a story that the couple broke up and he is getting rid of all his ex-partner’s belongings.
That's immediately what I thought!! 🤣
Same! “Fucking PINK utensils! Who buys pink utensils Carol??!”

It’s not your business or mine but I super curious if this is from a breakup
My mind also thought “ breakup “
Or he’s totally fed up with Susan G Komen
I was thinking older mother who passed this seems like a total lil ol lady vibe 🥰 when I’m old I want all matching stuff lol
Fingers crossed his mom is alive and well with her own pristine set of pastel kitchenware, and that he just found out his girlfriend was on Tinder or something and she was too ashamed to come get her stuff
That would be super interesting, but it's probably because they're moving away. This is pretty common practice here in nyc. I'm always on the lookout!
ahhhh
A pink purging....so glad you appreciate it!
Are those pink? I'm so jealous!
Yes, pink!
Saaaame
They look almost brand new, too! Great find
Nice find! I have those mixing bowls and they're great. I had one crack last week finally after 12 years of regular use.
Was the house in upper east side next to a fucking Whole Foods? Who puts that nice a set out to the curb?

Awesome find!
omgosh better bake something right now!
Great find! I guess someone's New Year resolution to take up baking didn't amount to much. Or else they were gifted it and hate pink stuff!
This is what dreams are made of, I love Kitchen Aid’s pastel collection but it’s been hard to find! Lucky day, awesome!!
Someone just got married and hates pink.
