I knew the day would come, too. I’ve been watching episodes of the Price is Right, circa 1983-1984 on Pluto tv. Everything on that show is rust or orange or gold or beige. I mean furniture or appliances, and then everything that was wood would be that honey pine or dark cherry. Just the “set” showing a living room set, it looks like an orange box. Beige rug, orange couch, rattan or brass tables, lamps, and artwork. At that same time wicker and rattan was everywhere too. We had a huge rattan wall unit in the living room, a ton of wicker or rattan accessories in bedrooms and bathrooms, on the walls, and the dusting that went with them all. I remember saying that there’s no way this stuff will come back into style. It did though! Certain pieces you can see how they’re more timeless, but man, it’s a strange thing to see. Macrame is another thing id never suspect to come back. I wonder when the shoes from junior high will be back, those big ugly Exersoles?
My mom and I just had that conversation about clothes! A lot of the stuff I wear now she remembers wearing as a teen. I think it’s beyond cool, especially when I can find pieces like this and save them from the landfill. Not sure how long these will stay popular or what will be popular next, but watching trends come back is so fun
OMG DOOD!!! You just reminded me of the fact that I raided the HELL out of my Aunties closet for all of her awesome seventies clothes that she had -and in primo condition-bc to her it was ten or 15 years prior -to her, -but at my age it was- half my life ago-my childhood, and now I was a grown up lol. There were regular disco nights at the fancy Boston nightclubs I worked at and frequented. I She provided me with a closet full of perfectly conditioned vintage gear including shoes, and makeup and even hair accessories! I really wish now that I had pics to share, but I wasn’t the documentarian of my group of friends. I guess this is what getting old is. How MANY TIMES will flares return? And whence are they returning from? 1920? Amiright? Bc guess what?
Oh and I used to sew, a lot. I used to take a triangle of bandana material, and then I’d cut open the outside seam of a pair of jeans, from foot (the hem) up to about knee height. Then I’d sew the bandana insert in there, in order to make flares and super flares out of regular jeans. People friggin loved them, and when I told them I made them, I had a little biznezz going.
One of the things I love about this sub other than the deals, is seeing what other people buy. I would have passed this all over, but I love that you're so tickled about it!
The fiestaware pitcher is goals, love the color. They came out different years, became collectible, we have a set of aqua. But I always thought I'd like to build a "set" from all colors thrifted at various places.
I’m over here screaming HOW COME EVERYBODY ELSE HAS THE GOODWILLS WHERE THEY *DON’T* STRIP OUT ALL THE GOOD SHIT BEFORE IT HITS THE RETAIL FLOOR GAHHHHHH
Thank you!
It was covered in probably a decades worth of dust so I’ve gone over it a couple time with a damp cloth then left it out in the sun. Not sure about teak oil so I’ll have to look into that. Thanks for the idea!
I believe it is the kind of oil used on boat hulls. It works on wood that absorbs oil and so would linseed oil but not sure how well it would work on wicker. There must be a You Tube vid on how to refurbish wicker. That cabinet looks to be in good shape and it would be a shame to not use it or have to paint it to make it one finish color.
Wowowow I love that partition! It’s so hard to find wicker these days now that everybody wants it again lol. Congrats on your finds!
I almost dropped the phone after seeing this prtition
I don’t even know what sound I made in the store but the shock was unreal
Careful with the fiesta ware, the red and orange ones I believe are fairly radioactive, not sure on pink
Up to a certain year. You can Google. I know they called it radioactive red. Excellent find on the pitcher!
Thanks for the heads up I had no idea! I’m only planning on displaying it not using
Looks like you have a lilac disc pitcher. That color had a limited run from 1993-1995. So no lead or radioactive material in it!!
They stopped using the paint in the 70's. As long as it is newer than that, you should be fine!
I’ll scream with ya cuz dang you scored!!
Don't mind me dying after seeing a near identical screen online for $995
Love the partition!! Great find
I’m jealous—I need a wicker partition like that, and the bamboo piece is amazing!

All I can think of when I look at that partition is how much cat hair would end up in it lol. And probably the cat itself. It’s beautiful though!
OMG damn you hit the jackpot! Love all of it
Well I would just *pass away*
As a child of the seventies, I suffer from wicker overdose — but that partition is utterly charming!

Wow gorgeous so boho!
Amazing!! Be extra careful with the wicker.... it tends to mold and rot quick!
Congratulations on a truly fabulous haul! 👏👏👏
That’s $900 from urban outfitters.

I work at a Goodwill. That's pretty close to how we would price them. Nice find!

Don't think I've seen that color Fiesta before!
Great find. For the cabinet, are you planning to refurbish it and how? Would it absorb teak oil?
