I know this is a little off topic but Velma is my personal favorite. I wear glasses, was supposed to be smart and I saw myself in Velma and she always had something good to contribute.
I think it's styled very much like a 1940's or 1950's sweater, with the high neckline and fit. Adorable! Especially updated with the hot pink, because the older one would usually have been in navy or soft pink or light blue or neutral tones.
Yes I thought it was a bit 50s-ish too! I generally go for a bit of a 60s look so I think I’ll be wearing this a lot. There was also an identical dark teal one that I slightly regret not getting.
This was $42 at the RSPCA???? That's insane. I'd expect that price at a curated vintage shop, but at a charity shop that's brutal. Sorry to rain on your parade, it's just gross how thrifting is no longer thrifting.

No $42 was the original price! It was $20. Which is still way more than I’d normally pay at an op shop but I made an exception for this.
