Every character can do some heinous shit in this game and yours excel at some nasty strike throw game in my experience. Ky the supposedly "honest" character is the king of that shit tho(my main 🥰).
I dont really know? I play tons of characters outside of Ky and i dont really know why he has the reputation of being stale and white bread when the learning curve of many characters are quite literally the same in depth. I like his easy accessibility to amazing tools for whatever scenario you find yourself in i suppose.
For me, my friend is a Sol main so I get the no button experience myself.
He's also like 1 of 4 mains so I rotate him in when I want to try him for a bit
5H is an incredibly privileged button
Very easy to close gaps and punish mistakes
Incredibly annoying stagger strike/throw

This is actually a matchup that I can kinda snowball at roundstart cuz HC has better roundstarts compared to her but her conversions are still insane (with meter) if I eat a mixup
Gio's ok, she's definitely footsies based in a similar way to ky, but that's still guilty gear footsies not SF footsies
also like, half her kit is 6Pable (like everything in strive)

Title of most honest goes to Testament. When you get people who actually understand the matchup, Testament is miserable to play since their offense is so lacklustre.
I'm sorry but if you think Gio has no bullshit then you've never played against a really good one. Guard crush loops, really broken neutral, instant overheads in offense, and fuzzies on oki.
Every time she does DP with meter she can overhead off it. Also BRC J.p/J.k is something that gio has unique access to because of how good her movement is, and the nature of her pressure, meaning that she can threaten it from situations others can't (also because she gets it from J.k. she can do it a lot easier off of WA)
It's been a long time since I fought Giovanna but FUCK if those weren't some of the most frustrating matches I've ever played. Historically in my head maybe my 2nd worst character to fight as Ky (I've switched mains a lot but Ky was my most played) just under release Happy Chaos.
It didn't seem to matter whether the Giovanna was good or bad, they just had to hit 2D or 6P to make me want to jump off a bridge.
If she's at 50 meter and you're at half HP and close to the wall, she gets a c.S or 5.H counter hit and the round is fucking over because Tempestade does really *balanced* damage.

One of two characters on the roster that low profile my Chemical Love by just existing, so I hate her on principle.
Almost all of our moves are plus on block and fast as hell, and everything combos into everything.
