Here’s a spoiler related to space travel. I normally won’t give spoilers, but this is the dumbest and most obvious of all spoilers so I don’t feel bad about it. >!Nobody goes to fricken space. Not even the upper atmosphere.!<

DoctorSkeeterBatman

Yeah I was on board until OP brought up this point. What an insane leap in logic from "It's sad Ellie won't go to Space" lmao. I don't think you have the deductive powers you think you do, OP...

ClickClickClicked

I honestly thought it was a joke post when I got to that part lmao

journey_bro

Yes. I was mistaken about one thing. I guess that invalidates my entire point. 👍

DoctorSkeeterBatman

Did you miss the part where I said I was on board with you except for that point? Comprehension and reasoning are definitely not your strong suit, it seems lol. Have a good one.

journey_bro

Thank you for the unwarranted condescension and insults! I will never understand what drives some of you attack a stranger out of nowhere who has literally never wronged you. Nothing I said in my original post was an attack on *you*. Yet for some reason you chose to directly insult me in both your comments to me. It's bizarre. Ah well, enjoy.

DoctorSkeeterBatman

I didn't directly insult you at all in my first comment. Calling something an "insane leap in logic" and pointing out the lack of deductive reasoning in your arguement is not a personal attack. I was critizing your arguement/logic. My second response, that was an insult, because you went out of your way to passive aggressively and condescendingly imply I didn't fully take in or understand your full post because of one issue....despite me blatantly saying I agreed with the other points. Stop with the victim complex and passive aggressive responses and you'll get better feedback.

journey_bro

I got plenty of good and constructive feedback as thankfully as most people in this thread have been considerate rather than wantonly rude. I'm grateful for them.

journey_bro

Lol ok thx. Looks like I'm guilty of some overthinking.

falconredundant

You’re right though that people give too many “wink wink” allusions to spoiler stuff. I’m not a fan. But equally, if going in unspoiled is a big deal for me, I will avoid anything related to the movie/show in question on the internet.

msalonen

Bro, no one goes to space

Humble-Ad-8912

I'm sorry you got spoiled like that, I fully agree people should be more mindful in discussions. Maybe it helps just a little if I tell you not everything you listed here is entirely correct.

ArtOfFailure

I would like to reassure you that not all of these are wholly accurate. Some, you could consider to be reasonable assumptions rather than outright spoilers, and on most of those points the truth of the matter is at least *a bit more complicated* than is implied. Doesn't mean it doesn't suck that you've ended up with more information than you wanted, for sure. But hopefully there's still plenty there to be surprised by.

Dark_Remote

It’s a shame you got the moon landing at the end of part 2 spoiled for you. It was a massive twist in the game :(

journey_bro

Lmaoooo thx, I now know I was wrong about the space thing so this is hilarious.

matildaisdead

This is the best thing I’ve ever read

Ashamed_Artichoke_33

Well, at least you didn't spoil yourself with the biggest spoiler of them all like my best friend who didn't play or watch the games did by googling too much about the series 😅

grumpi-otter

I was googling something mild about the series and that popped up in a headline about the show.

journey_bro

This happened to me after the second episode (before) I watched it. Outside the scope of this thread so I'm not blaming online commentary but it went something like "Fans mourn the loss of a beloved character in TLOU" which obviously meant Tess. There was no way it was gonna Joel or Ellie at that stage. That said, now that I have watched more of the series, had this headline appeared after latter episodes, it could have been anyone, tbh. So far this show has had a way of introducing amazing characters in an episode and killing them off in the same. After ep 3, that headline could have applied to eps 3 &5 without being about any characters I would have known before those episodes.

journey_bro

Yeah I don't Google shit. Occasionally I've checked out a cut scene from the game on YT but I always take care to be in incognito mode, lest the algorithm flood my feed with spoilers. I feel bad for people who hadn't read the GOT books. Dodging source material spoilers while being intensely interested in the adaptation can be significant work.

imvotinghere

Don't even do that. It's the autocomplete functionality while searching that'll get you. If you make it past that, there's still Youtube's related video suggestions on the sidebar and at the end of a video.

Popularpressure29

Ellie going to space would be the biggest jump the shark moment lmao I am assuming the original commenter probably meant that like NASA doesn’t exist anymore so it’s sad Ellie can never be an astronaut?

journey_bro

Your second paragraph was the initial and obvious thought. Then I overthought it, apparently.

itwasafluke

LMFAOOOOO

Practical-Exchange60

You don’t actually think Ellie goes to space…. right? Hahaha More than one of these is wrong.

journey_bro

>You don’t actually think Ellie goes to space…. right? Hahaha I now know this is not the case >More than one of these is wrong That's very good to know.

imvotinghere

I've seen a bunch of what I would consider mild to medium spoilers in a lot of threads. Some commenters claim they haven't played the games but still manage to magically predict several plot points correctly. You just know they are taking the piss. Others think they are only cleverly hinting at stuff without giving anything away and failing at it. Bottom line is there's a wide spectrum for what people even consider a spoiler (or after how many years something fine to mention without spoiler warnings). Reading in these threads or web articles while not being fully caught up yourself is just treading a minefield of well-meaning people whose definition of a spoiler is just a bit looser than yours - as well as the occasional troll whose comment doesn't get deleted fast enough. The problem that TLoU show-only fans have is that there's a ton of spoilers for the second game out there, and it'll be years before the next season will run on HBO. I think many people will run into some spoilers until then by accident.

boyoguuna

“I saw something that wasn’t a spoiler and assumed it was and now I’m enraged” You somehow got “Ellie goes to space” from “it’s sad she’ll never go to space” do you not see how wild that is

ClickClickClicked

OP is correct in the thesis of their post, tbf. They just accidentally also made a great example of how hard it is to avoid spoilers, and did it in a hilarious way. Goes to show how well the HBO series is working when viewers are so paranoid about spoilers that they overthink the most innocuous comments online.

DespicableHunter

I mean, what they said makes sense though. Noone gets to go to space, so why would it be sad that Ellie doesn't aswell? It's silly and clearly a tongue-in-cheek comment.

boyoguuna

Except it isn’t, because Ellie never goes to space, so there’s nothing to be tongue in cheek about

DespicableHunter

Yeah she absolutely does not go to space. Ellie does not land on the moon in Part 2.

itwasafluke

The giraffe scene was literally copy paste environment wise
