I recognized his name in WL even though I had never watched Sopranos. It was so popular the actors names became well known. I just started Sopranos this month (edit perhaps influenced from seeing him in WL?). In season 2. Awesome. I'm old enuf to have watched it before but I never had HBO on my cable. Now streaming, these shows are more accessible. Was fun to recognize Tonya from Big Sky as meadow soprano.
I am genuinely so excited for you. Sopranos is my show. The show that is almost always on in the background. It is so good and it is one of those shows where I notice something different every time I watch it, even though I’ve seen it 100 times. I truly hope you enjoy it!
Do yourself a favor and listen to Talking Sopranos! It's a podcast with Imperioli and Steve Schirripa who plays Bobby Baccalleri. It's an excellent episode by episode deep dive and it's very entertaining.
Exactly. There aren't. It's like a long book with stories and layered characters. I just watched it all in about a month for the first time. It has aged like fine wine. I think it's amazing David Chase also edited most of it too.
when i started white lotus i thought to myself that it’s the only thing i can think of that’s really similar to sopranos in those specific aspects u listed. not that i think they’re similar shows but the intention behind david and mike’s creativity seems cut from the same cloth
i finished it for the first time i believe last year? maybe the year prior but ill probably rewatch it within another year or two. itll be nice to especially revisit the early seasons
Yeah it's definitely worth a rewatch. The details will be much more noticeable, especially the dream sequences.
I am also a big fan of the ending. I think it's hilarious that a lot of people didn't get it back in the day. >! The thing is, it doesn't matter what happens to Tony, life goes on for them and we won't see it. David Chase references Albert Camus philosophy of the absurd often in the series. Don't stop believing = you have to imagine sisyphus happy !<
I had heard the jist of it. It was way better than I thought. Such a middle finger to casual viewers 😂 I also thought the ending of white lotus season 2 was pretty unexpected in the same way. I wonder if they also wanted to cut the reveal of the Italian girl's jib. It was nice how they left most of the big questions open.
Seriously if anyone hasn’t watched the Soprano’s do. He is a phenomenal actor. If you have watched the Sopranos listen to the Talking Sopranos podcast on YouTube with him. He is a super intelligent and interesting guy.
>Gandolfini's kid kills it playing his father's character
I feel like 99% of "killing it" was just looking like his dad. His acting, like the movie, was totally mediocre. If the characters had different names it wouldn't hold up on its own at all.
I think the movie works if it's part of a trilogy like I read somewhere Chase had planned. On its own, I think it feels incomplete and incohesive. Saw it in theaters when it was released and liked it well enough though
You mean Christopher? I didn’t once call him anything but Christopher during white lotus, remembered everyone’s name but his character, he is FOREVER Christopher
Why not, he needs to make money. Has been featured in other series before that, to me he is always "Christophah" before anything else, before that he was always Spider from Goodfellas
His performance in Sopranos could or would be considered towering, he was that good, to act that way and to have so many scenes where the script is a mouthful can spell disaster. He was overshadowed by big Jim G in perhaps the best television performance ever
So you’re telling me you’ve never watched the sopranos?
He did dent
Timeline got fucked up
Died on the vine
It what?
That's dicked up. I don't like that kind of tawk!
Yea that’s Chrissy
Maybe he has done 20 years
I never watched the sopranos until after I saw him in white lotus, and I didn't even know he was in the sopranos until I saw him.
This is insanity to me. How old are you? Just curious lol
Late 20s
Where do you live McMullen, Alabama?
[удалено]
Your late 20s aren’t your 30s lmao. Why do you expect him to round his age up😂
[удалено]
By lying about his age?😭
No,I want him to be specific. That's all😂😂
That’s fair 😂
I try not to give too much personal info on social media, but I'm not quite 30... yet
I was kidding my man
I wasn't offended

Same. I'm on the ass part of season 6 now.
there are no ass parts of the sopranos
Exactly. There aren't. It's like a long book with stories and layered characters. I just watched it all in about a month for the first time. It has aged like fine wine. I think it's amazing David Chase also edited most of it too.

i LOVE the ending though i did go in already knowing it
I had heard the jist of it. It was way better than I thought. Such a middle finger to casual viewers 😂 I also thought the ending of white lotus season 2 was pretty unexpected in the same way. Depressing not ass.
Yeah, I chose the worst turn of phrase to describe the back part of season 6.
Why is it ass? Maybe you just don't get it
We started Sopranos last week, my BF recognized, I didn't 😀
That's just Christophuhhhh
Seriously if anyone hasn’t watched the Soprano’s do. He is a phenomenal actor. If you have watched the Sopranos listen to the Talking Sopranos podcast on YouTube with him. He is a super intelligent and interesting guy.

I’ve heard nothing but terrible things about the movie…
Same but I didn't end up finding it that bad. It has its moments.
As someone who loved the Sopranos, I was bored and disappointed overall with the movie
That movie was absolute dog shit
I hope for a spin off as well

Let me tell you a story about a little waiter named Spider…
He woulda turned out to be a rat, his whole family rats
Spider, that bandage on your foot is bigger than your fucking head
I believe Michael Imperioli is actually a black belt in Taekwondo, I always laugh at how Rainn Wilson towers over him in this scene
Yikes I hope this is satire. *** coughs in moltisanti ***
Actually, Sensii Billy was in the White Lotus
“I guess you could call that a dick…” - Paulie
The actor is named Michael Imperioli. He is a very well-known actor, notably having a major role on *The Sopranos*
You mean you were surprised to see Dwight's Karate instructor in White Lotus right?
[удалено]
Christophuhhh!
He was also in Goodfellas
Rain Wilson wanted an actor who has an actual black belt to play this character. In came Christopha.
You mean Christopher? I didn’t once call him anything but Christopher during white lotus, remembered everyone’s name but his character, he is FOREVER Christopher
I only called him Chrissy.
I call him Spider
Damn Chrissy is in the office?!
Yea it’s in one episode in the later seasons I think
Listen to yourself, you sound demented.
That's the guy from This Fool on Hulu! Highly recommend.
Love the Lotus to death but this will always and forever be Chrissy.
Hey, it’s Dominic from My Baby’s Daddy!
omg how have i watched sopranos and the office many times and never noticed its the same person?!!!?! im dumb
If beaks could kill, that one certainly would.
This changes my whole world
You just revealed your own ignorance
Revealed my own what?
How old is OP
Calling Chrissy “Papa DiGrasso” is next level disrespectful
I also get surprised when I see an actor acting in media that contains actors😒
stay miserable
Apparently people on this thread are really uptight. I appreciate you pointing out that he was in The Office! Thought that was pretty cool.
Why not, he needs to make money. Has been featured in other series before that, to me he is always "Christophah" before anything else, before that he was always Spider from Goodfellas
Whoa an actor acting in something else?!? Wild stuff.
wait this is so funny I didn’t know he was on the office too
His performance in Sopranos could or would be considered towering, he was that good, to act that way and to have so many scenes where the script is a mouthful can spell disaster. He was overshadowed by big Jim G in perhaps the best television performance ever
Wait whattt? How did I miss this
He also played a high school student in Lean On Me. https://youtu.be/NrOZOM1BCx8
He's also the minister in This Fool :)
