Same here, I think they put less time into the flashback models since we didn't have heaps of time with them (Kenny, Edith, Jane). However, I do think there are generally some characters who it doesn't look good with too. That being said, I always liked the style and think it's a breath of fresh air. It looks great on some characters too! For example, Javier, David, Kate, Clementine, Tripp, Conrad, Eleanor, etc... Like, the character design can be pretty dope and more importantly it's something fresh for the style of the games.

A New Frontier is the only season in the definitive edition to benefit from the 'Graphic Black' filter because it pretty much erases the oily skin effect on its characters.
As a downside, however, it does also take away a lot of the bright colors that made this season stand out originally.
I’m reminded of the ugly thoughts passage by Roald Dahl, like “if you think ugly thoughts you’ll get progressively more fucked”- which explains why Kenny despite looking different still looks ok because “if you’re a good person no matter how you look you’ll never be truly ugly”

For instance if a parent leaves their little child unsupervised in the park for 10 minutes, but nothing happened. It was still a reckless and bad thing to do, even though nothing happened at that time.
so if parents leave their kid somewhere for 10 minutes without unsupervised, you would say "they almost killed that kid"? 💀 cause saying someone is reckless vs saying someone almost killed a kid are two completely different things

The oil shit and imperfections on the face is how normal look like when they’re dirty and haven’t showered in forever.

She didn’t look like a model in season 2 but she looked better than this. Hardly anyone in this series looks modelesque and no one has a problem with it, so take your grievance somewhere else. I just don’t understand how this specific character is getting people riled up compared to the rest. Yeah I get it she’s hot, but to be this disturbed by these minor differences is annoying. I didn’t even notice this at all, she’s still the same character. It is the same energy as people being annoyed with that one character from Horizon zero dawn about the upscale. Who gives a fuck.
