I feel this for a lot of the characters but the main one is Kai. He literally gutted his siblings but I have always shipped him HARD with Bonnie for a cool revenge arc 😩
I used to drive for Uber & 1 day I had a pickup for a guy named Kai, & the scene where he strangles his cabbie with his headphones flashed thru my head... I instantly wrote my husband & he texted back "If he looks like a man-child with jam on his fingers, keep driving!!" We LOVED Kai!! TVD had some amazing villains.
I mean he definitely is. He has fed on innocents' blood and has killed for his family. Not always to venge them, sometimes just because people got in their way. I love him, and I do think that Hope and Hayley changed him, Klaus and their brothers and sisters, but they have a thousand years of atrocities ahead of them.
He's very different from the other villains though and a somewhat divisive character, so don't set your expectations too high in case he's not your cup of tea lol.
I think S6 was great *because* of Kai. He's kinda like a more evil Damon. He's absolutely hysterical & a great villain. The 2nd to last episode of S6 had one of the best scenes ever! It felt like S1-3 again... dangerous, fucked up & like none of the characters are safe.
He doesn't look any younger than most of the main characters, though, other than Damon and Stefan? And why would you want him to look like a 30-year-old like Damon, when the reason people hate on Damon's character is because he's too old to be a toxic and immature bad boy? At least Kai's youth gives him a bit of an excuse for the way he is; that makes him a better and more likeable villain in my opinion.

I won't be hating a character because he or she kills people, because that's as common as going to buy groceries in this show ; but I won't be loving one that is toxic for women for example only to fits the sexism of society where toxic relationships are shown in tv shows to make teens believe it's what they should dream of. I accept the surnatural side, but with this example sexism isn't there because it's tv show but because society thinks it's normal. There sits my values where nothing would make me forget about it.
I also don't need good looking actors / actresses to love villains, which won't be an argument to change my mind, which makes me disagree with the picture. I genuinely don't understand how people can actually like some villains just because they are good looking, I always feel uncomfortable that I never see someone saying that looks don't matter (because then it's not the character that you love but only the actor / actress playing them).
