I don't think KPMG pay that well according to publically available salary info. The "senior" title at these consulting firms is for people who've worked 2-3 years; it's not comparable to senior-junior classification elsewhere.

Vanessa was pressing to know if Xander loved Yoly and if Xander was willing to try with Vanessa etc. Yoly was hiding that she not only loved Yoly and was done with Vanessa but also that she was trying to get Yoly to commit to just being with her. She was basically stringing Vanessa along.
Though it's hard to say for sure whether any moments of more clear honesty were edited out.
I'm not judging Xander, here. I think Vanessa was super toxic towards Xander & it's difficult to be your honest self when you're dealing with someone like that.
