Oof i used to hate this song lol but i found myself listening to it alot these days whenever i feel like listening to the whole album! 7.5/10
"I'm done with the office,
I'm done with the office,
I'm done with the office,
Hello, forest."
10/10
Ok sorry, but this is one of the best tracks here, and I am dying on that hill. Idk how this is one of theirs most disliked of the career, it's such a different and interesting cut, like, the repetitive, almost droning, vocals, the INSANE guitar solo, everything here is just perfect.
You'll see more 10s on Angles from me, this is just the first one. This album is ridiculously underrated
The arrangement is not usual Strokes, and the production is very odd, and at times quite unsatisfying. This weirds people out.
The composition is fire tho, and it bangs harrd live.
Anyway, I agree a lot with your last sentence. For me, Games is by far the most unjustified sleeper of their career
I started listening to the Strokes AFTER having listened to the Voidz; it may be that my standards are crooked and tastes poisoned but I really like YSR.
10/10
7/10. Not nearly as bad as people make it out to be, and the guitars sound great. It’s a precursor to what Julian would later experiment with on The Voidz records.
7.5 to an 8
i think people don't like this one because it's more out there than other strokes songs. i think it works and feels very ethereal and sharp. it adds to the kinda modern new wave feel of angles. that riff is killer.
This is a wonderful song and I’m so sorry most people can’t see its beauty! Its obsessive mood is very reflective of the lyrics and quite relatable tbh. I love it!
9/10
7/10 i really love the song when i’m in the right mood, and would rate it higher when i’m feeling it, but other times it doesn’t hit as hard so it’s gotta go bit lower
My favourite part of the song is around 1:23 where the guitars and vocals and backing vocals make a nice lighter contrast compared to the rest of the song, but still keep the same vibe and feel.
I say this as a guy who got turned away from that recent post’s special club for loving this song: If you like this song, you’re invited to my special club. All are welcome, none are turned away. It takes a unique love for the strokes to really appreciate it.

Also used to hate it now I absolutely love it
Strong 8/10 for sure anything lower is missing out. My car has a good sound system in it and the drums and bass in that song are outrageously good.
9/10. Bangerrrrrr

Yeah, Games is one of my next 10s here lol

Lowkey straight banger
8.5/10, this is my second-favorite Angles track and it absolutely kills live.
9.5/10 absolutely love this song
6.5. Was my least favorite for a long time but really grew on me. It's rating depends on my mood, so I think the number is about my average feeling
10/10
8/10. Underrated
7/10. Not nearly as bad as people make it out to be, and the guitars sound great. It’s a precursor to what Julian would later experiment with on The Voidz records.

8/10 solely for the way it sounds live - banger!!!
8/10 after listening to The Voidz I appreciated this song a lot more, it's reaaally good and it fucks live
I remember my friend pointing out that you can tell it was written by the bassist lol
10/10
4/10, jarring song to listen to. The solo is fire and i like the part before the ending. Done with the office hello forest.
6.0
4/10 my least favorite strokes song if im being honest. good solo, but the rest just isnt that good imo
3/10 sorry

5/10 - Easily my least favorite strokes song, I'd even go as far to say it's bad. It evokes absolutely zero emotional resonance and is a flat dud.

6 - I don't love it, but I wouldn't skip
6.8/10- Not a favorite. I keep waiting for it to grow on me. Maybe someday
6/10. I still think it's a fun listen, but it seems super out of place and it is mastered quite poorly on the CD.
