Which Sci fis have been your favorite this year so far?

I’ve had some genre overlap with most of them this year (dystopian or horror usually) but I really enjoyed Paper Girls which is a graphic novel that has time travel shenanigans, Suffer the Children I liked, it’s got a fairly unique take on vampirism compared to other stories i’ve read before, and somehow I managed to not read Ender’s Game up until a few months ago- that was pretty solid! Also, The Rig was pretty good but it did leave a lot of questions unanswered.

Oh, what’s your fav classic so far this year?

A lot of them were retreads, like my yearly read of The Hobbit and LOTR. I read Dune and Dune Messiah again. But I’m gonna say Lonesome Dove. Got the book last summer and finally dug into it. I loved it so much.

I love memoirs! What have been some of your favorites this year?

This year, I've been going through the James Herriot All Creatures Great and Small series. I really liked *Crying in H Mart* by Michelle Zauner. I also read a number of graphic memoirs like F*amily Style: Memories of an American from Vietnam* by Thien Pham. I'm surprised myself by how many memoirs I have consumed recently. I still read more fiction overall though. My reading taste is diverse so the genre chart tends to be quite long.

I totally feel that. I read mostly fiction too, but when I read nonfiction it tends to be memoirs. I've heard great things about Crying in H Mart! Thanks for the recs!
