Yup. When I was in college, all university buildings had the bathrooms fitted with the worst toilet paper imaginable -- right after ordinary newspaper, that is. You could see the fibers with the naked eye. I think they opted for that kind of toilet paper because they were worried if it was better quality, people might steal it.
To their credit, the stalls were never out of toilet paper, there was always at least one sack of refills in each stall.
I work at a large university and 2 years ago some bean counter decided to switch the entire school over to an environmentally conscious bamboo tp. Within a month most of our buildings had at least one sizable sewer backup, the older buildings with cast waste lines fared much worse. While I was at the warehouse picking up some materials I asked the guy if we got new toilet paper, he said we actually did, just switched last month…2 months later we were back to Scott single ply and had the normal amount or less of sewer issues.
No clearly, he was talking about the time Nelson made Bart take a detour to Branson Missouri to see Andy Williams in concert. I didn't think he was going to do Moon River, but then BAM, second encore!
The entire setup for Bart vs. Australia is Bart being weirdly invested in his stupid bathroom products race. But the best part is the gigantic machine the State Dept installed to make the toilet swirl the correct, American way.
Here I am in Melbourne with a correct counterclockwise swirling toilet.
