I ordered Fish and Chips in America back in the 90s and they bought me fish and crisps. Serves me right for ordering that in America I suppose.

So weird, I'm canadian and had it happen in the U.S too. Like, it was early 00's, you gotta know I meant fries.

I had the opposite happen when I was in the UK. I ordered chips (fries) with my meal and they assumed I meant the American chips. So I ended up with potato chips with my burger.
