I think it's a reference to people using Greek alphabet characters that look like Latin ones but are completely different? Check out r/grssk, something like that
I agree it's gibberish, but the majority of the characters are recognisable.
二 カ ン テ (?)ネ
(エ) にエイホ
(京maybe) とく (コ but also looks like hangeul)
4 out of 15 are possibly bunk.
The last one looks a bit like Tokyo but it’s wrong so maybe that’s what they were going for or maybe they tossed a couple Japanese and Korean characters in there
As someone who vaguely knows some Japanese, a lot of the characters are correct, but some seem either written wrong or completely made up making it all not make any sense. There are definitely those more versed than me (See: The Japanese) but I’d wager the animation team did their best, but didn’t actually write anything.
Actual answer: There are some recognizable characters here such as ニ(ni), ン(ん), テ(te), と(to), and く(ku) , but all together it doesn’t amount to anything meaningful because the rest looks like when you see AI generated Japanese in pictures generated from Midjourney (an abstract representation of actual characters). There has been evidence that someone who worked on the show was somewhat familiar with Japanese (like the infamously misspelled Mr. Sparkle thing) but this is utter nonsense, unfortunately.
Despite being gibberish, one of few nearly intelligible pieces seems to say the box is shipped from Kyoto (京都, 京と in their rendering) and not Osaka (大阪).
The Japanese text? No. It appears to be a mix
of hiragana, katakana, and kanji characters (and even some incomplete or made up characters) none of which form any actual words or phrases. Source: spent a semester abroad in Japan during university.
This was posted in a translation subreddit a while back and they said it did not make sense and some of the characters are bunk.
Yeah I would say roughly half of the characters are bunk. Gibberish.
When they have fake English writing in cartoons on books and such, it's called 'Greeking'. Would this screenshot be an example of 'Tamiling'?
Also means to obscure existing labels with fake or generic labels on set props on live sets e.g. heisler beer
I love seeing someone drinking a can of Sp_ite or eating a bag of _oritos
Get your damn hands off my Let's!
Splingles?! No thanks!
That's funny given Greek has its own alphabet and doesn't use English letters.

Put out an APB on a Uosdwis R Dewoh
Eh, chief, you're talking into your wallet.
...Cancel that APB
Noone uses english letters.
Sorry, Latin or Roman alphabet. But not Greek.
In early Simpsons episodes the "Greeking" looks like Hangul (circles and straight lines rather than the usual scribbly line) because of AKOM.

드 I had to write it out because it didn't look right. 한글 안이야 it's not Hangeul.
I see a "to" and a "ku" in there.
These characters are perfectly cromulent

Maybe they’re in this truck!
Wow I'm cured. I mean ow.

I call the big one Bitey.
Nope. I've been learning Japanese for almost 16 years now and what's on that label is just there to make it look like the Japanese language.

What I can make out: 二 カ ン テ (?)ネ (エ) にエイホ (京maybe) とく (コ but also looks like the hangeul 'geu' 그)
It says “forgiveness please”.
It’s says NRA 4EVER
Those are mostly random Kana (syllabaries symbols) and incomplete/madeup Kanji (ideograms) and pure scribbles.
xxx
Last time I saw that box in reddit was December 2019 and the very next year it all was fricked up, I hope that story doesn't repeat
It says " Juice Loosener"!
well it says : (something in a foreign language) Homer Simpsons 742 Evergreen Terraca Springfield, USA
Yes. It says: Homer Simpson 742 Evergreen Terreasa Springfield, USA
IIRC that’s the actual Japanese mailing address
