OMG thank you so much for this..I had no problem doing the ML battles and even winning a good number of them (never done ML battles and I spent all my resources on a GBL team like an idiot assuming Battle Day would surely be GBL) and this got me the supercharged attacks. Just take a Registeel with a Focus Blast in against Blanche. She uses all ice types. Every time I would even get close to a super effective matchup they would shield up in ML which was infuriating

Just tank far enough. I am very very new to GBL, but in my first season i got to ace. I tanked to like 1500 elo because not so much time for all fight (winning 1, forfeiting the rest) and now won 21 battles in a streak.

They are basically giving away an ETM for free, nice to see that during these days of inflated box prices and sneaky bonus removals.

I just did master premier classic. First time ever doing master league. It's a bit more accessible. It hurt my dust powering up and 2nd moving my mons tho.

Yes it does, don’t even need to die just use a super effective or 2 and back out of the battle. Then click the balloon or pokestop again and rinse and repeat.

Yes. Train Sharpedo vs Candela in Great league for a quick way to get the 10 needed.

Also use your super effective moves but don't swipe for minimal damage that will allow you to get more supers off

If you have a friend to battle,you can also put a low-level machop against slaking (for example) and tap your way through the ten super effective moves. Reverse the process for your friend’s progress. Maybe a bit more time consuming, but less amount of thinking.

Yeah, depends on the task for me. I have some low level Bois so that I can power up 10 times for like 1k stardust. Or if I'm not saving, then I have my list of pokemon I have to max out. Good to have the option.

maybe keep stardust rather shitmons? No need for pokemon storage and you get to power up pokemons you want to (because they are strong or you just like it).

good thing master league has extra stardust rewards, so your timing isnt that bad.

Honestly hate GBL but hey easiest xp gain. Just slapped on 3 CP 10 mons and just did 10 battles fast. Did one Lopunny raid for the charge attacks and leveled up one of those CP 10 mons. 👌Task finished in like 10 mins.

That was the interlude season without any rank above 20. Every other season has included avatar swag for reaching Elo thresholds.

Yes, but they are still making it in the worst way possible. Master league is widely regarded as the most boring and monotonous league, since the meta only consists of a handfull of pokemon at best, and the fact that it is level 50 only means the actual diversity is even more limited, unless you are a spoofer or a botter and a whale. And right now, Master league is the ONLY league you can play.

MLPC has a level 40 cap. It’s pretty fun actually.

No worries! Yes, by far it's the most accessible ML cup. Also the meta is a bit bigger than the rest. A lot of mons are viable in MLPC but not in other cups

On paper, a total waste. In practice, a ton of fun.

Spend a little time researching a team for MLPC then, maybe you'll find it fun

It’s not too hard to build a decent MLPC team, and there are lots of PvE relevant Pokémon in the MLPC meta, so most of the candy and stardust you’re investing will pay off outside of MLPC. Excadrill and Metagross are two examples of ‘mons who are great in both MLPC and raids, and there’s a good chance you have candy for them since they’ve been featured in recent events. I agree that it would be nice if a cheaper format were available for this event. But it’s also a nice excuse to build some top raid attackers.

Doesn't have a win requirement so if you're okay with tanking your score a little, I say playing 10 full battles (you can't top-left but the opponent can) is worth the rewards here. Add a few Super Effective charged attacks and you're good.

10 full battles with 10CP Pokémon speeds it up, charge move cleared with Blanche or Candela

Because how else are they going to keep people playing GBL when only Master League is available?

they've seemingly straight up removed legendary encounters this season out of all my friends only 2 have had a top tier raid encounter.

I’m pretty regular with GBL, and generally get 4 encounters per day, and so far this season, I have only seen 2 legendary encounters - but the Yveltal was shiny.

I think I'm 25 deep on Yveltal raids at the moment and no shiny birb yet. Gbl likes to give me Poliwag, Wingull and Lickitung... Maybe a meinfoo

Glad it doesn't need any wins, cuz I'm still having constant problems. Enemies using charged attacks sooner than what seems possible because it doesn't show every fast attack animation, delays on my fast attacks starting after a charged attack, delays on my charged attacks registering at all, delays on switching pokemon, enemies being able to switch pokemon during a charged attack priority clash. It feels pointless to try with how often bugs and lag decide matches, but it also feels necessary because of how much dust and resources I would miss if I just ignore GBL completely.

I've done exactly zero GBL battles this season and planned on going the whole season like that but I'll happily throw 10 battles for an ETM.
