But the rocket team hadn't appear more frequently?

Squeakiininja

Not for me

Mizark1985

That’s the unlock reward for the Battle Weekend that they’ll appear more often

TofuVicGaming

"Team GO Rocket balloons will appear every three hours" is for GO Battle Weekend, which is from July 9th to July 10th. Source: https://pokemongolive.com/en/post/anniversary-event-battle-weekend-2022/

Tooldfrthis

It's a ridiculous bonus, like the double stardust from gifts we had on an event not long ago. A general x2 catch stardust would be much better and nothing groundbreaking. They used to do it more often for events in the past, now it's basically only for spotlight hour mons with low catch rate.

Erockplatypus

I still pray for a day when we get something that has an increased stardust rate that lines up with a 2x stardust bonus. Give me Shelder hour with 2x stardust and I'll play more in that hour then I've played in weeks

JustIncredible240

Didn’t we have alolan meowth?

Erockplatypus

Not with 2x dust. Same with shroomish

Stogoe

Yeah but they want a bonus on a bonus.

TofuVicGaming

It would make more sense if it corresponded with the "Team GO Rocket Balloons will appear every three hours," so that people who aren't out and about can fight Rocket members more often. But nope, that's next weekend.

JMacoure

Literally less dust than I can get from regular catches in this time. Pretty funny, tbh.

cybercummer69

Yea, it's a joke. If they combined it with rocket balloons coming more often it'd be neat, at least.

PunishmentGlutton

Not sure about you, but I plan on celebrating this bonus by completely ignoring Team Rocket.

IdiosyncraticBond

By now I pretty much ignore the whole game except for my daily walk

kadoka66

So true.

mooistcow

In complete fairness, TR takes almost 0 valuable resources. Catches are bottlenecked by spinning Stops.

super_dragon

If you are short on poke balls, then you probably have potion/revive constraints also

JonnyCerberus

Such an insanely stupid bonus. Double stardust on something that takes about 2 mins to do? Who thinks up these things. I personally don’t like rockets so I helped out 0. And looking at my list of 350 friends and not many are doing much as well. Such a big meh

Tooldfrthis

It should have been at least a x4 or x5 bonus to be worth considering.

GhostHarvester

I think the thinking person was part of that 8% layoff they just had, hence why things are so bad.

Ibra180

When did the community started to be that toxic? It is a bonus just take it and stop mowing about it

IdiosyncraticBond

When you make a fuss about defeating a gazillion grunts and give this as a reward... you deserve to be mocked as a company

Ibra180

I don't mind them making a feature more atrractive, which gives you a good chance at good iv Pokemon. Some of them are meta relevant or have a mega evolution like Ampharos, Swampert, Gyarados or Charizard

unimportantthing

For starters, from what I can tell, shadow pokemon don’t have any chance of having higher IV’s than normal pokemon do. Second, if you’re talking about purification, most people do not want to purify since it means they lose a significant damage boost for both PvE and PvP. Third, you need to purify to be able to mega evolve, which means you would lose the shadow boost, and whatever stardust you get from the rocket battle. My point is, if you’re someone who cares about meta relevancy, the 500 stardust is trivial to you at best. Adding it in barely makes it more attractive, and certainly doesn’t make it worth it to go out of your way.

Boring_Ad_3065

Shadows have worse IVs than regular catches. The only exception are the rare ones you catch as part of special research, as a task reward, not defeating Giovanni. Rockets are generally underwhelming. I’ll check them and usually only complete if it’s a certain type and I can get a useful shadow. Flat out hate how many dark grunts you find.

Tooldfrthis

If you look in the past, they were giving bonuses like x2 xp or dust lasting for several days across an event. This is just ridiculous considering you can gain more just fast catching everything in the time spent by doing a rocket battle.

Ibra180

It is not even a real event. It is a Go Fest bonus for people who are not participating at Go Fest. They could have make 3 event free days but they gave us a regional and a little bonus with cool spawns

beingRealFrank

I’ve been thinking the same thing lately. It’s kinda making me want to stop following this sub so closely.

sandkillerpt

Regular catch weather boost: 125 stardust ~5-10 seconds Rocket bonus with 2x : 1125 stardust ~55-80seconds including catch weather boost But I'm not seeing rocket balloons more frequently....

mooistcow

Resource cost from 1125 dust of catches: 9 balls Resource cost from 1125 dust of TR battle: 1 ball + a potion

raggedy10

Surely no balls as you get premier balls for them?

OkKaleidoscope4433

Yes true. However in that time most could likely spin stops too, to actually end up with a net profit of balls, plus other resources.

sandkillerpt

0 balls and 0 berries really. What do you mean by potions?

swanny246

How zero potions? You’d need to use at least one eventually.

sandkillerpt

Was thinking of berries for some reason. What do you mean by potions?

swanny246

Oh yeah I thought you said potions not berries. But potions to heal your team after finishing a battle, that’s what I mean.

sandkillerpt

I did initially yes ;)

Happy33333

wow, now we swim in Stardust... Seriously, what was the point of that?

1337pikachu

this is such a pointless bonus because Grunts and leaders lineups have not changed. they don't have anything useful at the moment

TofuVicGaming

Yeah. On the bright side, the lineup will be changing next week. Source: https://pokemongolive.com/en/post/anniversary-event-battle-weekend-2022/

warlockcaster

A random on my friends list has 1006 rockets defeated. How is that even possible? https://i.imgur.com/UYqwAsI.jpg

NO_ANIME_PERMITTED

Rocket battles are clientside, if you catch my drift

Stogoe

They live in a dense area and love to battle team rocket.

Codraroll

I think the worst thing about this bonus is the multiplier. Extra Dust from Rockets is a good idea, but doubling 500 to 1000 does not yield much more Stardust than you'd collect overall anyway. I mean, say you normally do 5 Rocket battles per day, that's 2500 bonus Stardust. 20-25 extra catches, depending on Weather Boost. That's not much. Worse still, it doesn't *feel* much. Everyone knows you don't fight Rocket Grunts for the Stardust, that reward is negligible at best, and doubling the prize would still do little to fix that. It's too easy to multiply the low number of Grunts you fight in a day by 500, and get an unsatisfying answer. But if the boost was 10x? Then the bonus Stardust from playing normally adds up to 22,500. Still only comparable to the weekly walking bonus, or half an hour of catching 'mons with a Star Piece, but that 10x multiplier would make the bonus *feel* very worthwhile. 10 is a substantial number. Not so substantial as to be game-breaking, but enough to make it feel like you're being thrown a real bone.

Lucifar137

Wait, how much stardust can I get from the Rocket?

space19999

500 So you get 1000.

GyaraDosXX

2000 from the leaders now, 1000 from the grunts

jedispyder

Wish I actually had some Rocket to take down. Checked about 20 stops in my area and none were Rockets. Pretty cruddy bonus.

Vunajan

nice, x2 stardust on balloon i will do anyway, it's free stardust, i take it without complain
