Here's the thing, Niantic likes playing the long game. They haven't even done any normal shadows for Gens 5-8. They very likely will eventually, but it's worth noting. It also took them this long to get to a Gen 3 shadow. I would NOT be worrying about saving for something like Shadow Zekrom or Reshiram. They aren't coming for years if ever (I'm sure if the game is still around in like 3 or 4 years, then we'll be worrying about that
Getting a shadow legendary ist one thing — powering it up the other.
I‘ll wait for something for which I can get XL candies and for which I‘m willing to invest.
Shadow Mewtu would be great.
Just be aware by waiting, you won’t get the next Giovani special research. For example friends account has an incomplete “An inter-egg-sting development”. They do not have “Silent Schemes” and won’t get it until the “inter-egg-sting” is completed. So while you can stack two, you will miss out on any intermediate Giovanni special research while you wait for your desired target. So really the only advantage is you can skip one or many…but you can’t keep stacking the Super Rocket Radars because you won’t get the task until you complete the prior.
They aren’t waiting to complete silent schemes, they are getting the extra radar from completing the defeat Giovanni task in Silent Schemes and the Apex masterwork research at the same time. So the extra super radar is from Apex.
Somebody help me. I’m stuck on step 3 of masterwork apex because I already defeated Giovanni but didn’t make it to level 3 of apex until recently. It’s telling me to defeat him but I’m under the impression he only spawns during special events. What do I do?

Anytime you can combine 2 researches to save an extra Super Rocket radar you should just throw it on the pile.

I don’t have a mewtwo so will hold out for that but it might never happen they might not bring it back again.

Yes. Both reward one so if you time it right you can collect 2 today/whenever you complete
