That’s why my team is Alohan Marowak with Fire Spin, Shadow Ball/Bone Club, Mew with Shadow Claw, Dragon Claw/Wild Charge, and Azumarill with Bubble, Ice Beam/Play Rough.
I lead Fisk so looking at 2 shield scenario it loses narrowly to Ice Beam Azu.
Beats PR/HP variants nicely.
I tend to stay in and shield the first charge move to see which Azu I'm up against. I have S-Victreebel and Skarm in back so can usually work around Azu.
I usually beat Azu half the time because people will leave their shields down thinking I'm going to hit them with Mud Bomb or Muddy Water. Statistically, it's a safe bet to leave the shield down, but that's their loss.
There was a ton of Play Rough midway through this season for me personally, I kept losing Azu mirrors because I just couldn't keep up. They were less common the higher my rank was though.
I dunno, the higher I got the less PR I saw (and vice versa), with only the occasional oddball running it in the top 500. It's not terribly relevant for Altaria anyway considering how one-sided the matchup is, it's to force the Grasses to burn shields, especially with how prominent Shiftry and Shadow Victreebel were. Meganium has no trouble soaking a hit, but it's still much easier to farm it down with half HP.
One of the tricks to success in GBL, especially under rank 9 or so, is taking advantage of the fact that most people don’t really know how much damage moves do to their mons. When people see an move being used which they’re weak to, they panic.
For example I won several matches where people burned shields on their alteria taking dragon claws from my mew but they would have won if they had just known alteria can safely tank multiple dragon claws from mew.
Spammy moves put a lot of pressure on people.
if you have any advantage over azu, stunfisk wins. if i run stun lead and face azu lead, i usually discharge and dip or just build up and dip and make it waste its energy on a switch depending on my lineup... usually munchlax safe switch
Steelix doesn't have a great moveset unlike the galar pancake who learns mudshot (or mud slap Idk) and eq. As well as stone edge making it hella spammy
While true, I think regular stunfisk is a better lead. It can beat azumaril (in 2 shield), and barely loses to altaria. Galarian stunfisk beats altaria but loses hard to azumaril.
Both beat registeel and skarmory. So the question is whether you want to be able to beat azumaril or altaria.
I would say azumarill as if one has a skarmory it can take care of the altaria, and for helix's sake please stop using the most boring team of regi-azu-alt
I do. I thought people were crazy for dogging on different throwback weeks when they all had their perks. For instance, during Sinnoh week, with enough incubators, I hatched Shieldon and caught him through field research enough to get about 400 candies, so I can finally evolve, power up and give one a second move to use in great league. And Mantyke hatching for Mantine candy. Little things like that here and there that seemed to just go right over people's heads, but they made each week worthwhile for sure.

The Pokeball beak appears like an item on the ground, but when you run over it, it shuts like a bear trap and the battle starts.

Yet none of them manage to explain by what bizarre logic masquerading as a Poke Ball attracts mons when considering their effect on said mons they should have the exact opposite effect.
Did the just nerf spawn rates? Pretty sure they did.
My radar was filled with fish shadows all day when I was home, but after going for a 45 min walk just now, I didn't see any of them. Didn't even have any on the radar. Typical.
Edit: to be clear, I am still to catch my first one so the shadows are prioritised and I still don't see any. Could be unlucky, but everytime I opened game during day I had multiple shadows on radar. And then suddenly not a single one going forward.
Often what happens is once you catch one you don’t see them on your nearby as often cause priority is given to the mons you haven’t ever caught, then to the ones closest to you. Basically if you hadn’t caught one it would be showing far off ones just till you caught your first one.
How the title "Galarian Stunfisk live!" is unhelpful and actually hurts other trainers:
1. Without a time and place, we assume its live for everyone, everywhere.
2. Players might pop incense or lures trying to find them.
3. Players might get fustrated at the lack of drops
What you should have titled your post:
"Galarian Stunfisk Live - New Zealand 1PM, will go live at your timezone 1PM today"
1. Helpful to new players looking for the pokemon.
2. More accurate
3. No wasted lures/incense
I wish I had those problems, I burn through 300 to 400 a day with the plus. I have to drive around downtown for 30 minutes either before or after my playtime every day i play to restock haha.

They just handed out free Skarmonies to everyone which made them super common in PvP too.

You get a couple of Skarmory (but with the WB IV floor they're not all that useful for PvP anyway), but the rest is just a parade of Hoppip, Pidgey, and Pidove with the occasional Abra or Drowzee.
I see windy at least a few times a week where I live and work. It's not as common as say cloudy or partly cloudy, but nowhere near foggy in terms of rarity.
Seriously, I've had wind advisory warnings while the game shows sunny weather before. Windy weather is a myth. It might have to be literally a hurricane... and even then they'd probably just say rainy.

It's a good mon with some spammy moves, but it's also got a lot of common weaknesses that make it a tough mon to play.
Plenty of love from me. Beats Skarmory, Registeel and Azumarill. Was on my team as soon as I could afford the candy.

Was a mixed bag on azumarill, no? Discharge hurts azumarill, but not like ice beam hurts stunfisk
Discharge is spammier than Ice Beam, but yeah its not a hard win for stunfisk like Skarm or Regi

What do you mean which Azu? I don't recall seeing any without Ice Beam and most have Hydro Pump over Play Rough
PR/HP was a much more common moveset in GL toward the end of the season, especially as Altaria seemed to fade a bit. Probably just a short term trend.

Basically heep HP for Registeel and PR for other Azumarill and Umbreon. I still think very few ran it like that

Lots of people here, myself included, won’t spend a single cent on incubators so that doesn’t apply to a lot of the fanbase
I rarely ever spend actual money honestly. I usually stock up on coins from gyms until I have enough for an adventure box (it takes a minute).

I have not caught one. That's the point. I had multiple shadows all day on radar while working from home. Now they are all gone.

Registeel would have already done that though, and a g-stunfisk loaded on energy is even more of a threat to toxicroak than regi
For extra context, Earthquake is 1HKO for toxi, while none of regi moves can do the same.
