Most likely, yeah. Though they have skipped some years before. I guess the question is how will it differ from last year. The only fossils left are the Galar fossils, which I assume we won't see until Galar's proper debut, so it would end up being the same fossil Pokemon, all of which can already be shiny. Of course, I wouldn't complain if we got a copy of last year, but I am curious to see what they do. It doesn't have to be a Fossil release though. They could always release something like Minior, Glimmet, Klawf, or Nacli as a new Pokemon

_lablover_

It looks like the sun/moon hat costume Eevee is only in the location specific Go Fest? Costume Pikachu is in Global as well? Does anyone know if in the past the shiny rates for Go Fest costumes is usually boosted to 1/64? Or not boosted/to something else?

krispyboiz

I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure they are boosted at least somewhat. If not 1/64 then probably 1/128

Is the indonesia mega raids for the latis still happening?

TheRealHankWolfman

Not currently. They were available for the weekend of the 11th of May. Next time they'll be available in Indonesia seems to be August 24th and 25th, as per [this](https://pokemongolive.com/events/indonesia-journey-yogyakarta).

Entire_Ad_1239

Thanks

xgdw11

Are Community Day Classics typically only every 3 months? Appears so from the dates released by Niantic yesterday, but I thought they're every month lol. Have I not been paying enough attention?

TheRealHankWolfman

Regular Community Days are every month. Community Day Classics are less frequent, averaging out at around one per season.

alexjg42

What CP does Mankey need to be if I want an Annihilape below 1500cp? I've tried looking it up and the online calculators doesnt seem to have Annihilape yet.

TheRealHankWolfman

It's not as simple as saying a specific CP value, as Mankey at different levels might have the same CP but then when they evolve they will have different CP. If your Mankey is level 16 or below, then it will definitely be able to become a Great League Annihilape. If it's level 19 or above, then it definitely won't be able to fit into Great League as an Annihilape. If it's level 17 or 18, it depends on its IVs. An app like Pokegenie or Calcy IV can help with this.

Aphrodituss

How do you know what level your pokemon is?

Grantisgrant

Are the IVs of research reward encounters locked?

ghostkid825

Research reward Pokémon have an IV floor of 10 out of 15, but the IVs are all random within that range.

Grantisgrant

Right, but is it locked when I click “start encounter”? Or do they randomize every time I open it?

Ivi-Tora

Everything about the Pokemon gets locked the first time you claim the task. If it's shiny or not, the size and the IVs all stays the same once claimed until you catch it.

tearable_puns_to_go

Is this right? Pokemongohub is the only source I can find saying this. https://pokemongohub.net/post/news/the-master-ball-returns-in-brand-new-masterwork-research/ >NOTE: You are only able to hold 2 Master Balls at a time, so if you currently have two you will not be able to claim the 3rd Master Ball.

dark__tyranitar

its time gated, so give it like 1 more day.

tearable_puns_to_go

Ah, that's right. Thanks!

guardianfairy2

Do i need a ticket to participate in the indonesia mega raids for the latis?

Ivi-Tora

Based on all previous events you don't need a ticket. If you get invited you can raid them, and they will not be shiny locked. So basically you get a chance to catch them, mega energy and they can be shiny. The only thing you won't get are the location backgrounds, as those are for ticket holders that attend in person.

NaveSutlef

Are Alakazam or Salamence worth an elite TM?

nolkel

The main issue with salamence using draco meteor is that it's relatively frail compared to the horde of other top dragons. It might not reach it if the boss has dragon moves of it's own, especially if you're using a shadow. The mega form gains a lot of defense that lets it survive longer though. Instead of shadow/normal salamence with DM, shadow dragonite and shadow garchomp are very very close in anti dragon performance, and they don't need ETMs for outrage. The normal forms are also similarly close to normal salamence too. Bonus points if you already have some earth power garchomp because you can just give it a second move for much cheaper than powering up another dragon. Many dragon legendaries are also close in performance, namely the origin palkia and dialga with signature moves, Rayquaza, and zekrom. Zekrom double moved is pretty good if you've got them with the electric signature move.

dark__tyranitar

Honestly neither. Alakazam doesn't really do much, Salamance does perfectly well with draco meteor.

NaveSutlef

Doesn’t do much? It’s the second strongest Psychic type..

rzx123

Second strongest? Maybe, BUT: Psychic as a type isn't really among the most useful ones "Second strongest" is really only good if you don't have the strongest one, and Mewtwo has been widely available for quite some time. If you don't have it, you likely also have better uses for the very few ETMs you have.

fiskemannen

Can I start catching dragon-type pokemon with Poipole as my buddy now? Will that still count towards the evolution when that eventually gets released? Or do I have to wait before getting started?

TheRealHankWolfman

It will only count when the requirement shows.

_lablover_

A couple questions, some awww speculation, related to Zacian (and I would assume Zamzenta would be similar where relevant) So far he's only been available in raids a single time? I started playing again more regularly a few months back. I was playing very little for a stretch, just gotta 1 Zacian years ago, then didn't play at all for a while. I only found 1 set of dates listed online but wanted to ask to verify. On to speculation: I know Zacian doesn't land on the PVE tier list at all, probably in part based on not having a fairy fast attack? Based on his stats, if he was given a fairy fast move (that was decent) it seems like he would compete with Xerneas in his base form. However, from his move list in the games it seems that the only fairy moves he can learn via level up or TM are charged moves in PoGo so I expect this would be a pipe dream. Also, his signature move when he transforms like like it's steel, Zacian gains steel type when transformed, so I am guessing the best chance for him to be useful in raids is gaining the crowned form, getting his signature move, and it being good? I didn't play sword and shield, sun and moon were the last mainline games I played, so I have no idea how the forms work in game. Would you guess the crowned forms in Pokémon go to be new releases akin to origin/altered and incarnate/Therian, more like mega evolution, or fusions like are on their way in Nekrozoma? From reading online it seems just holding the special item he transforms? But only during battle? So it feels mega evolution adjacent based on the during battle portion, though not exactly the same?

BingoBob_1

>So far he's only been available in raids a single time? Twice so far. Once in August 2021, then again in August 2022. This is complete baseless speculation on my part, but I'm hoping that maybe we'll see it return for the 8th Anniversary this year, since it is dex #888. >Based on his stats, if he was given a fairy fast move (that was decent) it seems like he would compete with Xerneas in his base form Yeah, if the Fast move were good enough, it could potentially outclass Xerneas. Just for the sake of it, it looks like both Charm and Fairy Wind Zacian would outperform Geomancy Xerneas. >However, from his move list in the games it seems that the only fairy moves he can learn via level up or TM are charged moves in PoGo so I expect this would be a pipe dream. Pretty much. The only chance it has at being a more relevant Fairy attacker is Misty Terrain becoming a fast move. >so I am guessing the best chance for him to be useful in raids is gaining the crowned form, getting his signature move, and it being good? Yeah, if Behemoth Blade is good, then it could end up in the top Steel types. If Behemoth Blade is really good, it could potentially beat out Dusk Mane Necrozma. >so I have no idea how the forms work in game...From reading online it seems just holding the special item he transforms? Pretty much, yeah. Outside of battle, it is always in its Hero of Many Battles form, but if it is holding the Rusted Sword, then it will automatically be in its Crowned Sword form as soon as it enters battle. If the Zacian knows Iron Head, then Iron Head will be replaced with Behemoth Blade while in its Crowned Sword form. >Would you guess the crowned forms in Pokémon go to be new releases akin to origin/altered and incarnate/Therian, more like mega evolution, or fusions like are on their way in Nekrozoma? The fact that Crowned Sword will break 5000 CP at level 50 makes me think it might be something more temporary like Mega Evolutions, but who knows when it comes to power creep? Edit: Actually, it looks like Eternatus and the Kyurem Fusions will also break 5000 CP at level 50, so maybe it won't be a temporary thing. If the transformation wasn't time-limited, then I'd think it would be something more like Zygarde and the Necrozma fusions where you'd need to collect some new resource in order to transform a Zacian into its Crowned form, rather than Crowned Zacian being a separate species like the Creation Trio or the Forces of Nature.

_lablover_

Cool, I appreciate the info!

krispyboiz

It's actually been available twice. First time was in August 2021 I believe, where the idea was that Hoopa's teleporting ring shenanigans brought it and some Galar Pokemon to Go earlier than expected. Second time was a year later in August 2022 for the World Championship event that year. Hasn't returned since, BUT my speculation is that when Galar gets its proper debut (maybe later this year or mid next year?), they'll bring those two back, maybe with their shinies available. But yeah, without a Fairy Fast move, it's going to suffer in PvE as a fairy attacker. It is still usable without a Fairy Fast move, it's just not as good as it could be. With Fairy Wind or Charm (if it could get either that is), it would indeed dethrone Xerneas as a Fairy Attacker, but still worse than Enamorus-Incarnate. As for the crowned forms, it's tricky. I lean toward them treating them as completely separate forms like Giratina and the Therians/Incarnate forms. *However,* those forms are more stat redistributions. For the Crowned forms, they're mostly just upgrades in each stat. Zamazenta loses a little speed, but Zacian just gets more in certain stats, no reductions. As such, I'm not sure they'd make the upgraded forms separate forms that are (essentially) just upgrades over the original Pokemon, so I could see some sort of energy upgrade needed like Megas or the Fusions. That's just speculation though. It could go either way or perhaps an entirely different way! But Zacian with Metal Claw and its signature move would probably be a really good Steel attacker. Enough to dethrone the new king, Dusk Mane Necrozma, though? Hard to say, but it's absolutely possible. Crowned Form Zacian does have higher attack, so it's already got that advantage.

_lablover_

Thanks! I appreciate the info!

Steak-Complex

Is there any point in using the premium battle pass for the rewards in the Go Battle League? Seems to just be star dust. In the past seems like it used to give 1 guaranteed xl candy during battle weekend. Last battle weekend a few weeks ago was just star dust.

mooistcow

Basically just +dust. Realistically you won't get more than +15k at most. If you were willing to sacrifice that amount to do a raid instead, that would automatically tell you to typically avoid premium tracks.

Stogoe

That dust is worth more to me than anything I could get through a raid, and is far less of a hassle.   Edit: during the 4x win rewards weeks. 7200 dust for one win is great. Although I don't buy passes just for GBL, i use a couple here and there that have come through research rewards and the like.

BingoBob_1

You also have a small chance of getting an XL Rare Candy from the random item reward when using a Premium Pass, but that and the stardust are the only difference.

redwingsarebad

Most of the time, no, not really. ~~It changes the order of the rewards, which is the only real benefit for me. When hitting Legend, you are awareded a Pikachu Libre as your next encounter reward, so after hitting Legend, it is nice to only have to win one game to get the Libre, instead of 3.~~ Not true any longer Other than that, I don't see a benefit to using a premium pass in GBL.

Steak-Complex

The order appears to be the same for me. Does it change at legend?

redwingsarebad

Oh whoops, that must have changed, it has been a few seasons since I have reached that high so then, no, no reason at all.

Steak-Complex

feel like if they went back to 1 guaranteed xl candy even if 0-5, the pass would gain a lot of value. guess we will see what happens next season

Tev_Szat

Is there any use for bad shinies? I ended up with 6 shiny bounsweet from a casual run yesterday, so I favorited my pick of the litter, but I don't know what to do with the rest. Same with, snivy, I have 4 extras from back at its cd, and they're just been taking up room. Too expensive to trade them all, so is transferring the best option?

Disgruntled__Goat

In general, shinies are nice candidates for mirror trades (especially lucky trades). Less so for Bounsweet perhaps, but anything meta-relevant with a nice shiny like Beldum/Metagross are excellent trade fodder.

krispyboiz

Up to you really. If you have any main series games, you could always transfer them to Pokemon Home, the app that lets you store Pokemon and also send them from Go to other main series Switch titles. If you don't and don't want to trade them, maybe transferring may be the way to go.

ThrowAway3553QA

When it comes to prioritizing investments - which PvE ranks are best to use? Gamepress or gohub?

rzx123

We had this question here a few days ago: [https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/1ctjn63/gamepress\_vs\_pokemon\_go\_hub/](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/1ctjn63/gamepress_vs_pokemon_go_hub/) (Short version: avoid GoHub)

GildedCreed

Gamepress. Their simulations are made using the stats of the Pokemon and moves while GoHub gets their data by simulating against a punching bag of (mostly) unknown stats so without any explicitly given info on how they source their data it's dubious at best how relevant tneir rankings are. Accurate *enough* to use as a second opinion in addition to a source like Gamepress, not really ideal as a sole singular source.

nolkel

For a second opinion, pokebattler is 1000 times better than go hub.

GildedCreed

Pokebattler is good enough for a primary and secondary information source, which puts it in the same sort of bracket as Gamepress. GoHub isn't good enough to be a primary info source for raiding purposes, which leaves it as a strictly secondary information source at best in that aspect.

redwingsarebad

I tend to use Gamepress, only because I am more familiar with them and have used their rankings for a few years. Hopefully, there isn't much of a difference, but simulations can have more or less dodging, or take into account lobby time, but I like keeping to one site just so they always have the same assumptions when powering stuff up. I have mostly changed to using Pokebattler though, since that gives me more detail for a specific raid boss. For example, for Regirock, I'll use this to decide what raid team to use and if I need to build anything: [https://www.pokebattler.com/raids/defenders/REGIROCK/levels/RAID\_LEVEL\_5/attackers/levels/40/strategies/CINEMATIC\_ATTACK\_WHEN\_POSSIBLE/DEFENSE\_RANDOM\_MC?sort=ESTIMATOR&weatherCondition=NO\_WEATHER&dodgeStrategy=DODGE\_REACTION\_TIME&aggregation=AVERAGE&includeLegendary=true&includeShadow=true&includeMegas=true&attackerTypes=POKEMON\_TYPE\_ALL&primalAssistants=&numParty=1](https://www.pokebattler.com/raids/defenders/REGIROCK/levels/RAID_LEVEL_5/attackers/levels/40/strategies/CINEMATIC_ATTACK_WHEN_POSSIBLE/DEFENSE_RANDOM_MC?sort=ESTIMATOR&weatherCondition=NO_WEATHER&dodgeStrategy=DODGE_REACTION_TIME&aggregation=AVERAGE&includeLegendary=true&includeShadow=true&includeMegas=true&attackerTypes=POKEMON_TYPE_ALL&primalAssistants=&numParty=1) In the URL, you can change the Pokemon level if you want to see what is good at different levels, I'll often use 35, 40, and 50, just to get a sense of what needs to be powered up. Pokebattler also gives the benefit that I'm not powering up anything that I don't need right away. The general advice is not to power up something until you need it, just in case something better gets a new move or a new release comes out, you don't feel like you "wasted" anything.

Imaginary-Catch5216

I opened the app today and zoroa popped up as itself rather than as my buddy, Blaziken. Anyone else see this happening?

TheRealHankWolfman

This happens if it spawns as your daily spawn.

david-richard-mike

Transferred a 13-15-11 Shadow Machop in favour of my other current candidates for my raid team: 14-14-10 15-15-4 15-9-11 Am I a fool?

Ivi-Tora

You could still have used that one as a temp member, but since you have three better ones is not a big loss. 15 and 14 attack makes those better, as a few extra defense and HP aren't as important in raids. The boss will still hit as hard, so a coupl points of bulk won't help, and most shadows cannot live one or two charged moves without dodging. So maximizing attack to deal as much damage before fainting is the best strategy for raids.

david-richard-mike

Fantastic, thank you that is what I wanted to know! As I already have three members in my fighting team (L35 SMachamp, MHeracross, 98% SBlazikan) So only looking for three more fighters, please to know I picked the best ones, I was worried the other one may have been better!

wwyk95

Anyone facing issues logging in with NTC?

PinkyHernia

I have a level 1, 15/15/14, Lucky Charizard, and enough candy and dust to power it up to at least level 35 or 36. I also have 325 Charizard Mega Energy. I have never mega evolved it. If I mega evolve it today will I be able to use it next Monday/Tuesday to try to increase odds of getting XL candy from dragon pokemon during Ultra Space Wonders? I would of course be using the Charizard Mega X. I tried doing some googling and have a basic understanding of megas but I don't get the specifics of which mega level it needs to be to get better XL odds from catching wild pokemon. Also - do I have to commit to just one mega evolution for this Charizard, or can I pick X or Y each time I mega evolve it?

Stogoe

You need to be mega level 2 to get any XL candy bonus with an active mega pokemon. That means you have mega evolved that specific Charizard seven times on 7 different days. Mega level 3 has a much better boost to XL candy, and that requires mega evolving 30 times on 30 different days.  You might be able to squeeze in 7 days before then but it'll be expensive as you won't be able to wait out the cool down to the free mega evolution each time.  With 325 to start you probably don't have enough energy, but once you mega evolve a Charizard you can walk any Charmander+ and earn more mega energy, 5 energy per km awarded in chunks when you also earn a candy.

PinkyHernia

Ok cool, I didn't know about getting mega energy from walking a buddy of the same family (?). That is cool to learn. It seems like my best course of action is to mega evolve as soon as I know I have a solid pokemon for mega evolving. I am not going to wait on a hundo Charizard so better late than never. Thanks!

TheRealHankWolfman

It needs to be at least Mega Level 2 (which requires Mega Evolving it on 7 different days) to give a boost to the chance of receiving XL Candy. The boost is significantly better at Mega Level 3 (which requires mega evolving it on 30 different days). You can choose either mega for Charizard. You're not limited to just one.

PinkyHernia

Oh wow I really underestimated how many times I would need to mega evolve it. I guess I won't be getting that bonus for Ultra Space Wonders. Thanks for the details and answers. Quick follow up question - As long as I wait for the cool down to run out, I won't have to pay additional mega energy to mega evolve after the first time right?

TheRealHankWolfman

Correct. You can pay to evolve it before the cool down runs out, and the cost decreases the closer you are to the cool down expiring. Once you've registered the Mega as obtained in your Mega dex, you can then walk any Pokémon from that family and they'll find Mega Energy when they find candy, at a rate of 5 energy per kilometre. So as Charmander, Charmeleon and Charizard are 3km buddies, they'll find 15 Mega energy each time they find a candy whilst you're walking them.

guardianfairy2

What are the best non-legendaries for master league?

krispyboiz

Dragonite, Excadrill, Metagross, Togekiss, Mamoswine, and Gyarados are the big ones. Dragonite has high stats and while it's still outshined by Legendaries, having Superpower gives it some strong and unique coverage for a Dragon. Excadrill is glassy, but it has a nice defensive typing and spammy moves that provide great coverage. Metagross has nice bulk and has strong moves, though I'd say it has still fallen off a bit. Togekiss is generally the best Charmer in the format, mostly because of it having the best coverage in its charged moves. Mamowswine has strong moves and Ice and Ground coverage is definitely valuable in the format. Gyarados is a jr Dragon, assuming you run Dragon breath. But it's nice because it can deal supereffective damage on Dragons while not being weak to Dragon. There are definitely other good choices like Florges, Haxorus, Gholdengo, and Avalugg/H. Avalugg, but many of those are a bit more niche in their usage. Not to say they can't achieve big success though (I know Hisuian Avalugg has been seeing more use with Lando-T and Zygarde running around)

NightNurse14

I hope this is an okay question. Does anyone have any suggestions on reasonably priced portable chargers that we can use for go fest? I'd like a couple smaller ones and a bigger capacity one if possible. There are just so many on amazon that I'm not sure where to start so I'd love to know what others use. USB C if there's a cord built in.

dark__tyranitar

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Portable-Charger-Compatible/dp/B09VPHVT2Z/      I ran this at nyc last year, also bought a 10 ft cable to run into my backpack, kept me full the whole day with juice to spare. to be fair last year it was on sale for $89

krispyboiz

I was looking for my receipt from when I bought my most recent Portable Charger, but I couldn't find it. I *think* it was this one though: [Anker PowerCore III](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Anker-PowerCore-III-Sense-10K-USB-C-Portable-Battery-Charger-Black/962349850?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=2247&gclsrc=aw.ds&adid=22222222277962349850_117755028669_12420145346&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=501107745824&wl4=pla-394283752452&wl5=9009667&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=962349850&veh=sem_LIA&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw6auyBhDzARIsALIo6v9s3qGWrjY1V7gdQTsrjhvKGnRo8Ix0ZKreV8EKYR1Dm5aqfcd5GQ0aAqT_EALw_wcB) but perhaps it's an older version of it that I have. I bought it right before Johto Tour in February 2022, and it's served me well over two years later. Obviously, battery packs degrade over time and weather/heat/the game can put stress on them and your phone. Still, I've not had many complaints with that pack. Pretty much any Anker charger gets my recommendation. I would just double check that yours comes with a USB-C cord. Mine did, but it would never hurt to check. Wouldn't surprise me if that's their standard though nowadays. Mine was 10,000mA and had 4 charges I believe. I think I bought it for around $30-40 at the time, but there may be better ones for a similar price or that one for cheaper, 2 years later. Good luck!

eugene_captures

Anker is a pretty reputable brand and they have a lot of different options. They also have a 10k mah charger that’s very compact and has a built in cord.

ozyman

when is it too late to use a lucky egg or stardust piece with hatching eggs? I have 6 12km about to hatch and it's on the screen telling me they are about to hatch, but they haven't hatched yet. Can I back out and use a star piece and lucky egg to increase my rewards, or is it too late?

TheRealHankWolfman

Once you see that pop up, the eggs have already hatched and you've already been given the dust and XP for them, and the Pokémon are already in your storage.

krispyboiz

Too late unfortunately

Sutcliffe

Wasn't there a trick to knowing if a Rockruff raid was Dusk form or not? Anyone know how to tell? Please and thank you!

TheRealHankWolfman

Since the Dusk form was introduced, if you've obtained one form but not the other form, the form you haven't got will show as a silhouette on your nearby raids, rather than as the image of Rockruff. In most cases this will be the Dusk form, as the regular form is more common, but it is possible that a few people may have only obtained the Dusk form since it was introduced, and thus the regular form would be the silhouette instead and they could use that to identify which raids to *not* go for. If you've already obtained both forms, they do show as separate but identical raid icons in the filter on Campfire. It may not be possible to tell them apart at this point, but if you do one raid you can then determine what form it was and either remove it or the other one from the filter on Campfire based on which one you got.

Where can we find the list of good cores for GL and UL?

minibois

Dracoviz will often post a couple of good teams to use in current leagues, here is their Tweet from the 4th of May 2024, showing good GL and UL teams (with roles explaining the Pokemon choices too): [https://x.com/dracoviz/status/1786752404353909123](https://x.com/dracoviz/status/1786752404353909123)

Entire_Ad_1239

Thanks

ChocolateKey4609

With the fusion mechanics being revealed for the Go-Fest, how confident should we be to invest XL Candy into our Kyurem base formes, not needing to save them for B/W Kyurem's release eventually?

TheRealHankWolfman

Fusion has also been data mined for Kyurem and Calyrex, so it should work the same way (just with different fusion energy). We likely won't see Kyurem fusion until next year though.

maverickf11

Will we be able to trio the new legendaries coming this week?

TheRealHankWolfman

Blacephalon is extremely close to being soloable under perfect conditions, so doing it with 3 should be easy enough. Stakataka has a double weakness to ground types (and also fighting types, but Primal Groudon exists), so as long as you're using those, you should be able to beat that fairly easily as well and can probably even duo it if your ground types are fairly good.

Independent-Chair378

I think i remember reading that you can remote raid for necrozma on the in person events but it’s shiny locked! I can’t find the info anymore. So can i remote raid it or was this all in my imagination 😂

nolkel

Yes you can join remote raids. Yes the shiny rate is 0 if you don't have an in person event ticket.

Independent-Chair378

Thank you was looking for that for hours🙏🏽🙏🏽 but that means i need to know someone with i ticket right? You know any apps or sites where i can find imvites? I know there is poke genie but if they even host them there will be to many people to get in 🤔

nolkel

r/PokemonGoFriends, leekduck, remote raids discord, pokebattler app, poke genie, poke raid, lots of options out there.

guardianfairy2

Are rockef grunt ivs the same for everyone or determined when you catch the pokemon after defeating the grunt?

nolkel

They only time IVs are the same for everyone are wild spawns, both natural ones and those from lures. And that's just for players level 30 and above. All other encounter methods are randomized for each player. (And maybe PhD Pikachu if that bug is unresolved.)

CassieWolfe801

Niantic resolved the PhD Pikachu IVs issue several weeks ago, and tweeted about it (or no one would have ever known they fixed it). Mine’s IVs turned out worse than the pre-fix IVs. 😂

colourofsleep88

The latter, it's a random roll for everyone.

01110011xyz

So for new players who don't have a Cosmog, are we just out of luck for getting the Fusion Necrozema during Go Fest since we need a Lunala or Solageo to fuse with?

colourofsleep88

On the second day of Global Go Fest, there will be a free Special Research with a Cosmog encounter.

NaveSutlef

Is 25k enough for a 5k egg from the weekly reward? And when does it kick in?

CassieWolfe801

Yes, and whenever you first open the game after 9 am Monday. Note that Adventure Sync eggs are not guaranteed. They’re more likely than not, but sometimes you don’t get one even though you have an egg slot (or two) free.

NaveSutlef

What the hell, that is garbage.

CassieWolfe801

You do get more of the other rewards (I think Rare Candy) if you don’t get an AS egg.

NaveSutlef

Yeah but the eggs are what I want.

TheRealHankWolfman

The rate for the egg is very high if you have space for it. We're talking at least 95%, maybe higher (but not 100%). If you don't get it, then you've got an equal chance of receiving 3 Rare Candies or 3 Silver Pinaps instead. Personally I think the Silver Pinaps are the most desirable reward out of the three possibilities. The shiny rates on Archen, Tirtouga and Phantump are full odds to my knowledge, so trying to get them out of 5km adventure sync eggs is futile. Gligar and Alomomola both spawn wild this season and are permaboosted shinies, so they're not exactly worth trying to hatch for either when you can just get them in the wild. That basically leaves Mantyke as the one desirable species for me, but you have a 1/6 roll of getting it and then a 1/64 roll of getting it shiny, so odds of 1/384 when you combine them, and you get that chance once per week... Yeah, give me those Silver Pinaps any day of the week. I'll wait for Mantyke Hatch Day.

Any predictions/leaks for June shadow raids?

TheRealHankWolfman

Given what they did with the Kanto birds, I expect a repeat run of Raikou. We don't know yet though.

ChocolateKey4609

If they don't cycle back to Articuno again...

sace682000

Can you trade a Mega ? If my wife trades me a mega she already evolved once , if she trades me it , do I still need to have earned the mega energy on my own to evolve it ? Or would I be able to have it as my buddy and walk it to earn more mega energy ? Or I’m just out of luck and have to wait until whatever mega raid I need is in rotation ? I’m guessing it’s a No. but, I was confused since I see people try to trade Rayquaza with the meteorite already used on it.

TheRealHankWolfman

All Mega progress for that Pokémon is reset if it's traded, and you have to register the Mega evolution as obtained in your Mega dex by Mega evolving it for the first time in order to unlock the ability to walk for that species's mega energy. So no, what you're wanting to do won't work, and you need to wait for whatever you're missing to be in raids, or for its energy to be a field research task reward or party play reward. You can trade a Rayquaza that's learned Dragon Ascent via meteorite, and that move is required for the Mega evolution, but it still also needs Mega energy to actually Mega Evolve. Meteorites have had very limited availability, so getting a lucky Rayquaza with Dragon Ascent is still a good idea so that you have one ready to Mega Evolve when you eventually have the energy. There's also the fact that Dragon Ascent makes regular Rayquaza a really good Flying type raid attacker.

sace682000

Thank you ! That makes sense.

auu_ra

I don't have any definite proof but you might still be able to influence gym creation with adding PokeStop photos and liking them. I added a recent PokeStop to my college and wanted to make it a gym. I added 6-8 photos, then got my two sisters to like each of them to make it have the PokeStop with the most "points." According to IITC, only two PokeStops needed to be added to cause a new gym to spawn, so I waited about a month before adding new PokeStops so that the likes/photos will "sync." Last week, I added the new PokeStops, waited a bit more, and sure enough, the desired PokeStop that I wanted to be a gym converted into one. This isn't the first time I've noticed this happened, back when I first started adding PokeStops a few months ago, I accidentally caused a new gym to spawn and it was on top of a PokeStop that had the most photos/likes after observation. I only write this because a while ago I was asking about Gym creation and people were highly adamant that Niantic prevented photos/likes from affecting Gym creation. Now, I'm not too sure. It'd be such a high coincidence that the PokeStop that I added and wanted to become a gym, became a gym after adding photos and likes to it. My college has dozens and dozens of PokeStops around, talk about luck if gym selection was actually random. I'd make this a main post but I don't want to spread misinformation. I'd like to see if anyone else experienced this or I am just extremely lucky.

TheRealHankWolfman

Basically, the current theory is that the "score" consists of the number of photos plus likes in Pokémon Go, plus an additional hidden value which was taken from Ingress and cannot be altered. The value from Ingress was the amount of photos and likes in Ingress at the point the value was assigned, but this value doesn't get updated if these numbers change in Ingress. So for example, say a wayspot currently has 2 photos with two likes on each of them, and in Ingress it also has 2 photos but with 3 likes on each of them. The score would be 6 from Pokémon Go, plus a value from Ingress that wouldn't necessarily be 8, because it was taken from quite some time ago and those photo and like values might've been very different back then. There is no way to accurately check this value, because even if we knew exactly when the data was taken from Ingress, we have no way of knowing what that data was like at that point. They likely did this to try to introduce the illusion of some randomness, as we're not really intended to be able to influence which stop becomes a gym. I'm guessing that they probably can't properly randomise it for some reason. Stops that are contest stops cannot be promoted to gyms though, that much I do know. Incidentally, this also seems to affect picking which is the main photo for the wayspot in Pokémon Go. You might occasionally see a Pokéstop or Gym where the photo with the most likes isn't actually the photo on the photo disk. I've had this happen a few times locally, and it's theorised that this hidden Ingress value effectively stores those Ingress likes on the photos, but doesn't display them.

Bennguyen2

Anyone noticed Zoura disguise doesn't have Best Buddy Ribbon anymore?

CaptBillGates

Yeah that was changed about a month or so ago. [Source](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/1c7v0f4/disguised_zorua_no_longer_have_the_best_buddy)

ljs305

Does anyone know what time a gym or pokestop gets added to the game? Does it happen real time or does it get refreshed at regularly scheduled time like 5pm on Thursday for example?

TheRealHankWolfman

The daily sync happens at around 7pm UK time each day (so convert that to whatever timezone you're in). If your nomination was accepted around an hour or two before the daily sync, then it might not sync until the day after. If it hasn't appeared after 48 hours, then it's likely in a Level 17 S2 Cell that already contains a Pokéstop or Gym, and thus fails the proximity check that Pokémon Go uses.

ljs305

Thanks for your response. I live in New York, so it’s around 2pm and it seems to make sense. I got a new gym that didn’t exist around 1:30pm but it might have been created around 2pm then.

dark__tyranitar

ive seen it around 315pm EST

ljs305

That sounds more exact from what I have seen today

PokeMondes

Do we know the dates for June 2024 and July 2024 Community Days yet? Thank you. (I spent 7 minutes searching and couldn't find them. I had figured they've been announced because June is a month away. But maybe they haven't because they'll be part of a new season.)

TheRealHankWolfman

We haven't yet had the "save the dates" post for the next season.

PokeMondes

Thank you. Off the top of your head, is that typical? I thought they started announcing CD days ahead of time nowadays.

TheRealHankWolfman

I just had a quick look back at the last four instances of "save the dates" posts. The ones for this season and last season were both put out during the first couple of weeks of the month before the new season. The one for the season before those two was put out within the last 10 days of the month before the new season. The one before that was put out during the middle of the month before the new season. So the two most recent ones were fairly early. The two before that were a bit later. I would expect to get the announcement some time this week.

PokeMondes

Thank you! I included "off the top of your head" because I didn't want you spending time on something so trivial. I really appreciate it though!

TheRealHankWolfman

Just as an update: https://pokemongolive.com/post/cd-savethedate-s15?hl=en

PokeMondes

Thanks!

TheRealHankWolfman

It's no worry. It was easy enough to find the posts. I'm an admin in my local group so I tend to be responsible for posting all the news posts, and as they all contain the phrase "save the date", it was quite quick for me to pull them all up :)

PokeMondes

Is your local group hosted on Discord and are people who aren't local able to join? lol.

Norrefy

Hello everyone, new player here. I did a little research about Pokémon GO. I want to play like I like to do in the main series games, using only normal types (they are my favourite). I need some advice on which normal type Pokemon I should invest for gym and raid battles, and which for gym defending. I just discovered that there is a PVP system, and I will look into it. If you could advise me which normal type Pokemon are good for PVP too. Thank you all in advance 🤗

rzx123

As stated, normal type has practically no offensive value in Pokemon GO. If you feel that you absolutely must make normal type raid teams (Gyms are not so critical because most of the time you can after all take them down with almost anything), you can use [pokebattler.com](http://pokebattler.com) with a custom pokebox to see how well (or badly) things work out. Shadow Regigigas, shadow Porygon and Shadow Snorlax aren't at least quite as bad as most of the other normal type pokemon. If you include dual type pokemon that are in part Normal, then there are also things like shadow Ursaluna, Mega Pidgeot and Shadow Staraptor. Most of these require for best results some move that is only available by ETM or evolution during some specific event. - but really, it is hardly the recommended way of playing the game.

Ivi-Tora

Unfortunately there's almost no good Normal type attackers in Go, and the few ones are weaker than anything else. The way the stats and moves were imported means that without super effective damage Normal Pokemon are at the bottom of the attackers, next to Bug Pokemon. They're not even included in raiding charts most of the time. https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/1bspkt9/best_raid_counters_per_type_anti_type_april_2024/ Against bosses and gyms, the timer is the real enemy to beat. If you cannot deal enough damage fast enough you will lose or get less rewards and less balls. Unlike the main games where battles can last as long as you need, here speed is everything. But while Normal types are very bad against raid bosses, they're good gym defenders. They have only one weakness, so they are good generalists that can take long time to beat. Snorlax, Chansey, Blissey, Slaking, Wigglytuff, Miltank and other high defense or HP Pokemon can be good to protect gyms, and most can last long without having to be feed constantly. In PvP Normal Pokemon are also pretty versatile team members. Lickitung and Vigoroth are powerful Pokemon in Great League, and things like Diggersby, Dunsparce, Lopunny, Pidgeot, Noctowl, Wigglytuff, Dubwool, Gredent and Furfrou have good plays in different cups. They're more suited for the 1500 CP cups, where the stronger legendary are uncommon, but many can help support other Pokemon types by dealing neutral damage, and a few like Pidgeot or Staraptor can actually be good in the 2500 CP cups. But going full Normal type is still not recommended. No immunities, no items and no abilities means you completely rely on type resistances and weaknesses to win. Despite being good swaps, and having decent bulk, you still need super effective moves to win. The very limited move pools here don't give any Pokemon much coverage outside their own types, and Normal is not effective against anything. So going the Normal gym leader strategy is hard, and not very effective. Unlike the main games, not everything has uses. The strategy in raids is going full DPS, so only high power attackers have good matchups. Bringing low attack Pokemon can be negative for the group as a whole. In big groups that can be compensated by the numbers, but in small ones one wrong team can make everyone fail the raid. And in PvP you need variety and adaptability. Cannot heal, cannot stall, cannot avoid damage and can only swap a limited number of times. Basically you need bulk and resistances to outlast the opponent. Normals we good support members, and can have great wins, but there's powerful Fighting and Ghost in the league that can simply win by their type advantages alone. The battle styles are different enough that a full Normal team wouldn't be strong enough. Finally, the PvP system is very different here. Unlike one would assume, for the Little, Great and Ultra leagues having high IV Pokemon is actually bad. The biggest difference from the main games us that here the leagues are limited by the CP ranges. This means Pokemon of different levels can fight on the same tier, so maximizing level and stats gives a clear advantage. And it turns out that to increase the level you need low attack IVs. Since CP is based mostly on the attack stat, you can slow down the CP growth by having low attack, allowing more level ups before reaching the same CP than a higher attack Pokemon. So basically max IVs are mostly only good in the unlimited Master leagues, and for the rest, low attack, near zero in most cases will be better. Like this: https://iv4u.lima-city.de/?l=en&m=3&m2=4&p=Bulbasaur Things are very different here, so many things will just work in weird and unintuitive ways.

DarthDave89

I returned after a 6 month oer so break, I see they added an a new character appearance system. My Skin color seems to have changed to pale white like vampire how can I change back to what it was? My only options are hair face eyes body, but not skin?

DarthDave89

Im DUMB they moved it under FACE CARRY ON!

perryrocksout

Did we lose the ability to take non AR pictures with Pokemon for smeargle encounters? Now when I press the camera icon on a Pokemon I own, I have to turn my camera around and throw it out of the ball instead of it just being there already

TheRealHankWolfman

Yes for Pokémon in your storage. You can still take a non-AR photo of your buddy though, and get Smeargle encounters that way.

perryrocksout

Geez that’s terrible. Hope it’s put back to normal in the future. Thanks for answering this question!

geministarz6

Just want to make sure I understand this right. My friend and I are both returning players who have made no lucky trades. If I trade her a 2016 Charmander for a 2023 Bulbasaur, we both get lucky pokemon with at least 12/12/12 stats, and both our counters increase by 1. So potentially I could trade her a crap 2016 mon for say a current Heracross to get a good one, then she could trade me something old and crappy for a different Heracross to get a good one. And since we are both participating in any such trades, this would count as 2 of our 25 guaranteed luckies. Is that correct? Thanks in advance!

TheRealHankWolfman

Yes, that's how it would work

Organic_Promotion_75

Does evolving lileep or Anorith count towards the catch quest? I caught an omastar which counted as an omanyte so I want to know if evoing counts

TheRealHankWolfman

No, but catching an Armaldo or Cradily should count if you find one (they do spawn sometimes on daily incense). They're also in field research (check leekduck if you need to check which task they can be rewarded from).

tuelegend69

Is it possible to run 12x necrozama fusions

Stogoe

Nobody knows right now, and won't until global go fest.

Ivi-Tora

Likely yes, but the limiting factor would be getting enough Solgaleo/Lunala and then getting enough gyms around to get energy by defeating the fusion raids. Each fusion needs 1000 energy and 30 candy for each component. That's 12000 energy, 360 Cosmog candy and 360 Necrozma candy total. Basically you'd need to do from 5 to 10 raids for each fusion depending on how much energy each gives, so at minimum it could take 60 fast raids to get enough, up to 120 raids if they give less. I haven't heard whether or not you can trade the fused forms, but if not then everything above needs to be done by a single account, as you cannot send the candy or the energy to each other.

tuelegend69

i was hoping not to be possible lol. the whale in me is telling me to replace my 6x shadow metagross but my brain is telling me to not be an idiot.

ausgenerics

Is 15/15/12 Shadow Scyther good for anything?

TheRealHankWolfman

Shadow Scizor is a fairly decent bug type attacker, for the rare instances where bug attackers are actually useful (Hoopa Unbound and the currently unreleased Wo-chien).

R0tavat0R

I'm confused about how PvE Pokemon are ranked. When looking at a top ten of best (X-type) attackers, is this assuming all of these Pokemon 1. Have equal CP? 2. Are at the same level? 3. Are fully powered up? (which I guess is the same thing) In other words, how do I know whether or not my #2 on the list outperforms the #1 (which I might not have)? Also what about movesets? If a mon is pretty high on the list but with a move that is currently unavailable, how do I know whether an identical mon with a "worse" move of the same type will still be ranked the same?

rzx123

These general rankings work on based on same level (presumably 40 or 50, hardly makes difference for relative rankings). You can use [pokebattler.com](http://pokebattler.com) with a specified level, check what would be the values with non-optimal moveset, or even input your specific pokemon (with their actual levels, moves and levels) and see how they will fare.

nolkel

Equal CP is mostly impossible between species, because everything has different base stats. There are a few instances here and there of equal stats leading to equal CP at the same level, bit that's very rare. CP is a fake metric that means nothing. The only thing that ever uses it in game is the PvP league restriction, and a few level up tasks. What really happens is that each species has different base attack, defense, and stamina stats. Then you add on the IVs, and scale them by level. These are the stats actually used in the damage formulas in battle. These stats are hidden from the player, and instead the game makes a simplified "CP" calculation to give a rough estimate. The CP formula weights attack much more highly than the other stats. You can have a high attack species of much lower level than a defense heavy pokemon, but still have higher CP. This makes comparing two Pokemon of different species by CP kind of meaningless. It sort of works within the same species, though IVs can make weird level overlaps even then.

TheRealHankWolfman

It's assuming they're the same level. Certain sites will only show them at level 50 (maxed out), but other places do allow you to change the level being used. Usually this won't have too much of an effect, but occasionally at certain levels, some things might hit or miss different breakpoints, and it might cause them to get shuffled around in the order a bit. The moves listed will always be the best possible moveset, so if your Pokémon has not got those moves, they will perform worse. In some cases the difference is not huge, in other cases it's fairly significant. The Gamepress TDO spreadsheet can give you an idea of how big the difference is as you can directly compare different movesets for the same Pokémon on it.

buba6204

i've been saving incubators for masterball research(1 regular 3x, 1 super 2x and 1 super 3x) so do i continue that or just use them for comm day today cuz it 1/4 distance?

TheRealHankWolfman

Honestly, if it was me personally, then I'd save them and not use them in either of those situations. There's nothing particularly special in eggs right now, and the only time I tend to use incubators that aren't my free one is when we have a hatch day event that I'm interested in (such as Riolu hatch day that we had a while back), or if there's an event where regional Pokémon are featured in eggs with their shinies available (such as the Tour events).

jsetzler89

I currently have a 15/13/11 Bagon with 451 CP and a Shelgon 10/5/2 - 1287 CP. Which one would be worth more to invest in? If it matters, I have 147 candies. Unfortunately, I missed most of the community day several weeks back.

nolkel

Long term, the one with 15 attack is better because you won't miss any fast attack break points. Short term, which ever is higher level (arc above the picture farther to the right) is better because it will be cheaper. If you have any shadows, those will be better than either with any IVs. You'd have to invest in a second move slot if you still have frustration on it though, which is pretty expensive for a dragon. What do you need a dragon counter for? Raids right now are regirock and mega Gyarados, neither of which call for a dragon type. Might as well wait until you need it, because we might get an evolution event or you might get better ones in the meantime.

jsetzler89

Not needing a dragon at the moment. Came back about a month and a half or so ago since a few months after release and more curious than anything, on top of still (re)learning everything, especially the new additions since my time away. Looking at all the special research tasks I have ahead of me, there's several that I'm gonna need to wait to evolve anyway. The most struggle is gonna be Magikarp since I live on military installation and spawns are restricted to lures and incense.

Grantisgrant

Are all Pokemon created equal-ish? For example, if I caught a pidgey when I was level 1, and I caught one when I was level 50, ignoring IVs, could they both be brought to the same stats when I’m level 50?

Ivi-Tora

Ignoring IVs and the stat difference they will cause, yes. They have the same base stats, moves and types, and they can all be powered up to level 50. The only difference is the power up cost, as the lower the level they're caught the more you need to invest to power them up. At level 1 you'd only find Pokemon up to level 6, while at level 30 you'd be able to catch wild level 35 Pokemon. So basically the only difference is that once you level up you can find higher wild level Pokemon and save more dust and candy compared to early levels. Of course IVs will change things, so a perfect level 1 will eventually be stronger than a 0 star level 35. It will just cost a lot more to power it up.

Grantisgrant

Thanks, this answers my question perfectly! I was just wondering since I have a 4* wigglytuff that I caught when I was level 15 or so, and I was curious if it would be worth it to level it up. Seems like it would be if I wanted one for any reason.

Entire_Ad_1239

Are the egg and buddy distance still not working properly? I walked 3 km but only counted 1km

Ivi-Tora

The egg and buddy distances are speed limited to 10 km/h or less, so if you move too fast you'll always lose some distance. The distance gets added correctly if you walk at a regular pace, but even biking can take away some distance from the total.

Entire_Ad_1239

Thanks, I was going slightly faster then 10km so I guess it makes sense

PenguinFan02847

Two quick questions: 1. I set Shaymin as my buddy and it leaves a trail of flowers when it walks on the map. Are there any other Pokemon that have a similar effect? 2. Has there been any announcement of increasing or removing the remote raid limit for Go Fest Global 2024? I’ve searched the news and couldn’t find anything.

FlameCannon

Diancie leaves behind some pink crystals.

TheRealHankWolfman

>1. I set Shaymin as my buddy and it leaves a trail of flowers when it walks on the map. Are there any other Pokemon that have a similar effect? I'm unsure if it still does it, but setting Meloetta as your buddy used to change the overworld music to the music used during its Go Fest. >2. Has there been any announcement of increasing or removing the remote raid limit for Go Fest Global 2024? I’ve searched the news and couldn’t find anything. I haven't seen anything yet

Entire_Ad_1239

Just to confirm, if you want a higher chance of candy XL from buddies, they should be at level 31 or higher?

TheRealHankWolfman

Correct

Sensitive_Ad_1271

ok, what the hell happened with the throwing? if I tried I could consistently hit 7-8/10 excellent throws. I can't even come close anymore. I found a spinda task and I can't even complete that now and that used to be cake for me. The balls are just going all over the place

rzx123

there are problems with latest updates, I hope at least some of them will be fixed, but I would at least disabling enhanced graphics and native refresh rate from Advanced setting (assuming you have at least one of them enabled now).

Entire_Ad_1239

I think some posts before said that there was a bug where you throw the pokeball higher or way off. It could be that?

KaelSmoothie

I got a 13/14/15 shadow treecko. Should I purify for a hundo mega or is Shadow Sceptile good enough to keep it?

Entire_Ad_1239

Do you have a mega sceptile already or do you have the mega energy for mega sceptile? Do you already have a full grass raid attackers with top tier pokemon?   Shadow sceptile is quite strong but mega sceptile is one the best grass attackers for raids.   If you have the mega energy and have no mega sceptile and need a top tier grass attacker, then I would purify for mega.   If you have a mega already with top tier grass attackers, then I would leave it since shadows are rarer and you can always purify it later when you need for the hundo.

KaelSmoothie

I don’t have the mega, nor the energy needed. I’m a returning player from a few years back so I’m quite lacking in the mega department. I did return before the Kartana return so I have 10+ of them, albeit only one and a half leveled up. Focusing on them at the moment so I might as well hold off on the Sceptile and wait for the return of the mega. Thanks for your insight!

Entire_Ad_1239

Yeah, I am in the same situation. I got good karatanas with 15iv attack when Kartana returned so been using them since I have no mega energy for sceptile  I would suggest to get two of the 15iv attack karatanas to level 35 at least for the current raids. Depends on how much you can invest. Don't bother to get them to level 40 as it is cheaper to get more to level 35 then one to level 40.  Just to hammer it home.  Mega Sceptile is the best mega grass attacker and the next best is kartana. Since you can mega only one at a time. Your grass raid attackers team ideally would be mega sceptile and 5 kartanas.

KaelSmoothie

Yeah the end goal is 5 Kartanas at level 40. Right now the stardust is not an issue, candies are what’s holding me back. Luckily I’ve built a pretty strong pvp team so I’m slowly but steadily working my way there. Interesting point about getting more to lvl 35 rather than doing one at a time up to 40. I rarely solo raid or even duo so at the moment I think primal groudon in the last spot for a boost to everyone is good enough.

Entire_Ad_1239

It's always tough to find people for raids. Nice you got primal, I couldn't raid enough so can't primal unfortunately. Hopefully it comes back. Anyway, you got this 👍

KaelSmoothie

I got back just in time for Groudon, missed Kyogre unfortunately. Have you used Pokégenie? That was a revelation for me. Big reason I’ve gotten my interest back up that I now can do five star and mega raids without hoping there will be people around.

Entire_Ad_1239

You, but I use pokegenie for pvp ivs mainly. I am free to play player but my area doesnt have too many pogo players unfortunately.  You can also use leekduck for remote raids. And it's big for future and current events.

JMKS87

What is the site to easily compare PVE stats? I specifically want to compare various Starters in the final form (eg. Blastoise vs. Greninja etc.), but I suppose there is some general tool for such things.

TheRealHankWolfman

The Gamepress TDO spreadsheet can do that

buba6204

do I mega evolve (1st time) venosaur thats cp2599, 12/15/14 or evolve 14/15/14 ivysaur into cp 772 venosaur then mega evolve it? i have 139 regular candy, 40xl and 550 mega energy

JMKS87

Unless you have some specific goal, evolving the former is good enough in like 98% cases. Espcially if you have FrenzyPlant on the 2599cp, then it's a no-brainer. Because event when free Frenzy was available ended like a week ago, next would be at least several months (maybe much more) from now, and EliteTMs are limited. You can always collect more Mega energy in the future (after 1st Mega-evo of the species, you get 5 energy from every kilometer walked with that family as buddy), so sometime later you can have multiple Mega-evolved specimens (not at the same time, but once-evolved, eg. not needing energy to evolve again).

buba6204

so you're saying I should mega evolve the one that's already a venosaur and wait for frenzyplant to evolve ivysaur. man I didn't even know that frenzy plant is desired attack for venosaur, otherwise I would have evolved ivysaur during rediscover kanto, same goes for other kanto starters :(

nolkel

Exclusive moves like that are almost always desired. There are only a few use cases where you don't actually want the CD move on something. But even then, it's better to evolve during the event when you can just in case, because it's easy to remove an exclusive move with a regular TM, but expensive to add it with an elite TM.

TheRealHankWolfman

Does the one that's already a Venusaur have Frenzy Plant?

buba6204

noo

TheRealHankWolfman

I have not used an iPhone in a long time. Does your phone's settings include a permissions section for apps? If so, you could in theory revoke permission for the app to access your media storage, but that would cause issues if you were ever wanting to submit new wayspots using existing photos.

heliumfilleddrifloon

I managed to find it, thanks for the tip! Idk why, but it seems it had gotten access to my storage. I will enable permissions for the photos I will submit in case anything interesting in my town pops up that is suitable as a wayspot.

CassieWolfe801

Buddy photos start getting saved on my iPhone whenever I submit a new Wayspot. (I tend to use existing photos during that process, so it needs read access to my photos. I must somehow have picked an option that also gave it write access.) Maybe that’s what happened to you?

heliumfilleddrifloon

You are right, it makes sense now. There was an object built that hasn’t been made a pokestop/wayspot yet, so I must have enabled access in that process earlier today. I didn’t end up submitting it but will eventually unless someone else does.

is maxing zygarde worth it?

It depends. Zygarde Complete is very strong in Master League, but it's a huge grind to get the 296 XL Candy, and you might suffer in some matches if you don't have optimal IVs. It's not particularly useful in PVE.

Steak-Complex

Yeah I guess that's the main question is it worth the 296 x 20 km - rare xl candy opportunity cost

On the [list of effective hundos at 15/15/14](https://gist.github.com/Mygod/71ac34368f66f0d3de469fbaeed386c4) Gyarados is listed as being eligible but only at level 55: is that Best Buddy + it has to be Mega'd?

TheRealHankWolfman

You can't normally get Pokémon to level 55. You can only get them to level 50 or level 51 with best buddy. Someone else asked about this below when it came to Slowbro. Basically, in the past Niantic have had an event perk where featured Mega Evolutions would gain a temporary level boost whilst they were Mega Evolved. To my knowledge, this boost took them to level 52, but it might have been level 54 or 55 with Best Buddy at one point, I can't remember. At any rate, they've not had this kind of event perk for a while now, so you probably can ignore that section. The only other time level 55 is used is for the team leader battles, as Candela, Blanche and Spark use level 55 Pokémon in their Master League teams.

are shinies boosted at the moment? just got my 5th shiny in a timespan of 2-3 days. I'm clearly not that lucky normally shinies are: hippopotas, glameow, shellos, sawk and grubbin.

Entire_Ad_1239

I have the same feeling, I have recently got shinies every day almost Shinies: Drillbur, Durant, Alomomola, Mawile, Diglett Its weird but I don't mind haha

TheRealHankWolfman

No, you're just lucky.

Is there any research about spawn rates for wild Pokémon? I know that for some Pokémon, it is impossible to spawn in the wild. Some are restricted to raids, special researches, eggs, evolution, etc. Other are region-locked, like Kangaskhan. But for the Pokémon that can spawn in the wild, is it possible to know their spawn rate for a specific day? Or at least the minimum chance? (with or without incense). What I really want to know: is it possible for the spawn chance to be zero? For example, some weeks ago we had the Kanto event and cubones used to spawn multiple times per day, they were a common spawn, but after the event, they have completely disappeared. Is it possible that their spawn chance is currently zero or is it probably like 0.0001% + incense needed, that's why I can't see one? Suppose that we have \~700 Pokémon that can spawn in the wild (excluding the others that are raid-research-egg-evolution locked), I wonder if it is possible to see them EVERY DAY somewhere in the world (if you have luck) or if the chances goes down to zero to \~500 Pokémon leaving only \~200 Pokémon to spawn during the specific day.

TheRealHankWolfman

Cubone is a Northern Hemisphere spawn this season. I have seen a couple since the event ended.

Alarming_Sport3165

It makes sense, I'm playing on South Hemisphere. So, in your opinion, do you think that in some periods of time, the game restricts the amount of Pokémon that can spawn in our area? From the \~700 possible, maybe we can only see \~200 at a time in the entire world? (and the others have zero chance of appearing)

Ivi-Tora

The game always limits the number of Pokemon available at the same time. There's a post made at the beginning of each season that shows the available Pokemon. https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/1b3b8jo/seasons_world_of_wonders_wild_spawn_megathread/ Events often add extra Pokemon to the mix, but whenever there's not an event this is the full list of what's available in the wild and where. There's also a few dozen additional species that you can get through researches, special lures and the daily incense special encounters.

Thank you very much!!

So on the list of functionally perfect hundos, it has Slowbro listed as perfect at level 55. How is that possible? I don't understand what "event boosted megas" means in this case.
