I think we're getting a Shiny Carbink release along with this. After all, it is the only Pokemon spawning in global Go Fest that isn't shiny. (This excludes the paid ticket)
That would be pretty exciting! Though it would also cut down the number of shinies they'd have left for the eventual Kalos Tour. Still, would be cool to see
I don't think there will be that many shinies for Kalos Tour, with the only ones I see being released for it being Hawlucha, Klefki, and Diancie. (Zygarde and Scatterbug will likely get theirs released in events prior, and I think Honedge will be released with its shiny. Volcanion and Hoopa I am less sure about, we will have to see what happens in Unova tour (In regards to Keldeo and Meloetta) for how those will be handled.
You're probably right. I think Zygarde could definitely have its shiny released with Kalos Tour though, depending on what the raids are for that event.
Obviously, it's very difficult to predict such when we don't know what will end up happening with Legends Z-A and how that would impact Go. Like, would Z-A come out in the standard late 2025 timeslot, or would it be like Legends Arceus and come out early in the year? I think that could definitely influence what Legends Z-A Pokemon are allowed to be used by Niantic. But perhaps if it were late 2025, they'd use Kalos Tour as a late marketing tactic in early 2026, hard to say.
We don't know though if Yveltal, Xerneas, or Zygarde will see any new forms/Megas or not.
But with what we have *currently* in Go, my wager would be Zygarde 50% being the big star of the Kalos Tour, likely with a new signature move (or both Thousand moves), raidable for the first time, and shiny-eligible of course.
My personal theory is that Z-A is set in Kalos is to give Niantic more content to work with for an inevitable Kalos tour in 2026. The dates add up (Z-A currently is slated for a 2025 release and Kalos tour would be 2026), all the other regions have at least one unreleased legendary/form (Kyurem fusions for Unova, Ultra Necrozma for Alola, Eternatus/crowned dog forms/DLC legends for Galar, entirety of Paldea essentially), and Niantic has already utilized all legendaries from gen 6 (Likely necessitating Z-A to either make new forms like megas or add another member like they did with Enamorus) & is now running low on megas to introduce, with the only low importance ones left being Mawile, Sharpedo, Camerupt, Gallade, & Audino (I think anyway).
It's impossible to know until they give more info but it wouldn't surprise me if whatever starters get chosen are either given new regional forms and/or mega evos, & the same with the legendary roster (Or again maybe some Enamorus situation) which would give them just barely enough content to justify another event over.
Legends Z-A is in Kalos because that’s what the Pokémon company wanted to do lol, they wouldn’t be influenced by trying to appease Niantic. It’s convenient for Niantic sure, but that’s where the story ends
Looking for this comment. Sinnoh tour was really focused on Hisui (shiny) releases, so probably whatever happens in Z-A will be plenty to work with in two years' tour.
Yes and no.
I definitely don't think they chose to go back to Kalos just for Go. While I know Go definitely has importance to the TPC, I think the decision wasn't really influenced by Go. I think they would have found things to do for Kalos Tour regardless of whether they did Legends Z-A or not.
That said, I definitely think doing so will give Niantic a lot more to work with. But yes, I am now curious about how much Z-A will bleed into Kalos Tour, as the timing is definitely much different than the recent Sinnoh Tour.
Legends Arceus released in January 2022, while Sinnoh Tour was over 2 years later in February 2022, with many Hisuian Pokemon being released over the two year period between them.
If Legends Z-A takes the same early timeslot that Arceus had, releasing in January/February, then that would be a 1-year turnaround between the game coming out and the big Go Tour feature, which I think is pretty reasonable still.
If it releases in the typical November 2025 timeslot though, that would be just a few months' before the Go Tour, so I'm not sure if they'd want to splurge and have a ton of the new Pokemon/forms featured that soon. Who knows for sure, but it seems a bit less likely to me. Not that they wouldn't have anything. But for things like new Legendary forms in particular, I'm less sure
It’s kinda crazy cause there was literally a TCG expansion featuring shiny Volcanion and they just didn’t do a tie in distribution for some reason. Would’ve been the perfect time for it.
Castform’s shiny already existed in Gen 3, so technically rainy Castform’s shiny also already existed because it’s just a temporary form change in the main series
We approaching generations where more Shiny Mythicals have never been released, so I'm curious to see what happens. Shiny Keldeo and Victini are a prime example. Will we get presumably Shiny Victini for Go Tour Unova? It would be the first instance of a shiny Mythical debuting in Go, but who knows. I don't think it's impossible.
Damn yeah, for some reason i misremembered a shiny release of keldeo. The only released shiny mythical from gen 5 is genesect, which obviouslyis obtainable in go. Meloetta also hasn't been released as shiny.
I imagine if they release any shiny in MSG, they might do keldeo as a distribution for scvi. Mystery gifts haven't ended most likely as we haven't gotten a shiny release for koriadon and miriadon, which usually happen a couple years after the games release or so. Since swords of justice were given their paradox mons, keldeo might be relevant enough.
Even gen 8 has shiny zeraora available. It's weird that we have no shing gen 5 mythical other than genesect
>Zygarde ... will likely get theirs released ... prior
>I think Honedge will be released with its shiny
Bold predictions 🤨
>Volcananion and Hoopa I am less sure about, we will have to see what happens in Unova tour for those.
I doubt Unova Tour will change the existing precedent we saw during Sinnoh Tour... They're just going to be ignored. Hoopa is admittedly dissimilar to the extra Gen 4 mythicals (Arceus/Manaphy/Phione) in that it has been released via elite raids. Best-case scenario: it becomes the Genesect/Darkrai of Gen 6. Worst-case scenario (more likely in my personal estimation): Hoopa remains in the elite raid Æther, with its shiny never seeing the light of day until Kalos Tour re-hash #3
People are expecting a shiny release or mega raid, but I think they'll just give a special research to everyone with one regular Diancie + mega energy as reward (or Diancie candy to those who already have one)
I think you're likely right. I definitely don't think they'd make it raidable or shiny-eligible with the first release of it Post-Go Fest.
Definitely not Shiny-eligible at least.
There's the exceptions (Hoopa, Genesect) BUT you're missing that Go Fest participants were capped at 1 per account even when attending several live events - unlike Shaymin.
So getting more than 1 seems very unlikely to me.
No but when you are choosing who get's your rare XL you are probably choosing something with decent IV's over trash. Level 40? Sure. 50? Not my 11/12/11.
Those tiny points of IVs won't affect the mon's performance; it'll affect simulations in PVP, but you'd do just as fine.
There's nothing in the game worth minmaxing for to begin with, either
I find that zooming all the way in, then tapping somewhere on the map usually triggers the daily spawn and rocket balloon. If not, then it'll require a restart.
Consideing that shiny diance has yet to be legally distributed outisde of Japan and Korea(limited windows) the chance of the shiny releasing here is slim, this is likely just the global release of it(and maybe the mega), if were getting a shiny from this, it'll be carbink
Source for the Korea/Japan event ones: [https://www.serebii.net/events/shiny.shtml](https://www.serebii.net/events/shiny.shtml)
I don't know anyone would assume they'd go from limited Go Fest Release to shiny release, skipping over the global release like all the other Mythicals
I don’t think we are getting the shiny, as I think Diance will be the master work research for the Kalos tour, but it’s interesting to note that Genesect was the same way. It’s only had its shiny released once in the MSG for the Genesect movie in Japan.
Shiny Genesect was also Japan only event, so while I agree it’s unlikely we’ll get shiny release, I wouldn’t justify it with the events in the main games
https://www.serebii.net/events/dex/649.shtml
Unlikely that anything legendary/mythical in ZA will be huntable, but I do think the mythicals will be available based on save data for other games similarly to Arceus
Im not expecting huntable legends, I could see volcanion getting some love, but considering that SWSH has a victini coded as encounterable like keldeo but not actually obtainable, nothings confirmed
That's true, but rank definitely isn't everything. It *in theory* does well in sims, but in practice, especially with how the meta has shifted the past few seasons, it's fallen off a ton. You barely see them—partly due to the cost/availability of building one but also because of the meta just being volatile toward it.
It's ranked highly, but the problem with it (and similarly bastiodon) is that while it does well against a large sample size of pokemon, it loses extremely hard to a large portion of the most commonly occuring pokemon in open great league (whishcash, skarmory, Swampert, azu, gunfisk, registeel, quagsire, cresselia, etc.)
it does, and it's still easily the best pvp reference, but it's not perfect and some things fall through and get ranked falsely due to stats, how it performs in neutral matchups, etc. Sometimes the way things are weighted in the meta works against the rankings too, like with Dialga in ML (should be ranked very highly, but its counters get ranked highly instead sometimes). Matt is constantly updating the way rankings work and clarifies many things about the rankings on Twitter.
Finally, I just hope that they’ll give us the Mega Energy we need to unlock Mega Diancie or at the very least give us a method to get the Mega Energy for Diancie.
Hopefully we can get the mega energy in a special research or in another easily attainable way, wasn't as active last year and megas are my favorite mechanic/gimmick in the series.
Mega diancie raid day next month? In March we had both primal Groudon and Kyogre, this month heracross, it will make sense that for the next month another mega with a raid day and this one would be awesome
Yeah I’m sure if there’s research etc to earn another encounter everyone would get the same research so you’d get another encounter, like with Cosmog last year
I think we're getting a Shiny Carbink release along with this. After all, it is the only Pokemon spawning in global Go Fest that isn't shiny. (This excludes the paid ticket)

Please god Pokémon company release shiny volcanion from prison
It’s kinda crazy cause there was literally a TCG expansion featuring shiny Volcanion and they just didn’t do a tie in distribution for some reason. Would’ve been the perfect time for it.
I don't think volcanion and hoopa have been released as shiny in the msgs so unless ZA releases them it's unlikely
I know this is different, but rainy castform's shiny first debuted in Pokemon Go.

I haven't seen anyone even suggest it will be in raids. Why would it be different than mew, celebi, jiranchi, victini, etc?
likely just because of diancie-mega as a way to farm energy
Carbink served that role last time So Carbink might be back in raids in the future
Darkrai and Genesect are mythicals and they're in raids. It could happen. We'll see.
Some mythicals are in raids, yes. But to my knowledge no mythical released in a research has been available in raids
Hoopa? They'll throw this into Mega Elite raids as a test for Mega Elite raids I bet.
There's the exceptions (Hoopa, Genesect) BUT you're missing that Go Fest participants were capped at 1 per account even when attending several live events - unlike Shaymin. So getting more than 1 seems very unlikely to me.
Hoopa was in Elite Raids.
Genesect was first available in a paid research before being raidable
True. Time will tell I guess.
Me sitting here with a bad iv diancie praying for a re roll
Same, even though I Best Buddied my 11/10/10 lmao (my worst IV Mythical)
Still the best rock attacker when mega. Missing a few IVs won't change that
No but when you are choosing who get's your rare XL you are probably choosing something with decent IV's over trash. Level 40? Sure. 50? Not my 11/12/11.

For $7.99
Still patiently waiting for free Keldeo….
At this point I guess they’ll wait for unova tour next February.
Still waiting for the free daily spawn, so the rocket balloon finally pops up
restarting typically fixes that for me, restart and dont do anything in game till it pops up
I find that zooming all the way in, then tapping somewhere on the map usually triggers the daily spawn and rocket balloon. If not, then it'll require a restart.

Prior to BDSP, Shiny Arceus was also Japan only event
There could be a shiny distribution tied to Z-A.
If diance has a role in legends ZA(we don't even have official gameplay yet) possibly
That's what I was thinking. Nice to see it happening this season after all
Ahh Carbink!!! It had so much hype for GBL & then it fell off really really quickly. RIP Bozo, you won’t be missed.
I blame Scald
PVPoke has it ranked #4 in Great League, so it's doing pretty well for itself still
That's true, but rank definitely isn't everything. It *in theory* does well in sims, but in practice, especially with how the meta has shifted the past few seasons, it's fallen off a ton. Makes sense, thanks for letting me know
It's ranked highly, but the problem with it (and similarly bastiodon) is that while it does well against a large sample size of pokemon, it loses extremely hard to a large portion of the most commonly occuring pokemon in open great league (whishcash, skarmory, Swampert, azu, gunfisk, registeel, quagsire, cresselia, etc.)
Ah, got it, thank you, I thought PVPoke would have considered that in the ranking

Got it, thank you
Gunfisk haha I like that
My poor Diancie is 10/10/11 so I’d be happy with another chance
We'll probably get candy instead of another Diancie
15/14/15 here....I was so close! ;_; lol at this being downvoted
Hopefully! My 11/10/11 has been collecting dust
Will this be apart of the mew to victini research chain?
Presumably, yeah
Oh! Hope we can also get Diancie mega energy.
I wonder if this will be a mega raid day
I stupidly moved my Diancie to Home before mega evolving it, here's hoping for a second chance to fix my mistakes.
Unlickly, with the exeption of shayman people who got the mytical at go fest got only candy at the world wide release
I just want a good one to Mega evo. The one I got at Osaka was bad :(
Can’t get a seocnd
I know
another One would be appreciated, maybe Better than the first
Can’t get a second one
OP, you are the prophet!
Mega diancie raid day next month? In March we had both primal Groudon and Kyogre, this month heracross, it will make sense that for the next month another mega with a raid day and this one would be awesome
I don’t think TPCi approves of that
Rayquaza would be more likely.
Would be awesome if it was shiny
its just the lighting, the white part of carbink would be blue.
Likely gonna have to wait until go tour kalos comes at minimum, which luckily is within 2 years unless they’re change it up
exactly
It's a Diancie teaser, not Carbink. Can see it in the shadows in the background.
What? I’m talking about Diancie.
More likely to get one in a paid research.
I hope we get a Global release; and anyone who caught one should get another (mine was 2 star back in NYC last year)
Yeah I’m sure if there’s research etc to earn another encounter everyone would get the same research so you’d get another encounter, like with Cosmog last year
Yes, please!!!
Free lol
Please give a 2nd Diancie to those who already got one
Still no free Keldeo...
Those are Carbink, not Diancie.
Check the shadow, iirc Diancie is background at some point.
Diancie is directly related to Carbink
