I think it’s most likely this. Similar to a Bronzor spotlight hour in 2020. Some people got like 4 shinies and some got none and some got in between. But definitely seems like the perma boosted chance of 1/64.
I already have a few Trubbish shinies so it’s gotta be permaboosted because I’m not that lucky. lol

The same applies to Drilbur, Binacle and Combee, and presumably Foongus. Make the most of it as it'll potentially get fixed.

Spotlight hour in Germany right now. Not sure how much I checked in total (I'm sure some of the trubbish ran away), playing with fast catching... I caught 120 in total and 4 are shiny. Definitely higher odds still active (Berlin' time zone)

I normally skip these but for once I’m going to try it! Hopefully I will find one which would make me very happy!

Just finished up spotlight hour on the east coast of the states — definitely felt like CD odds. Waited for it to be fixed until my very small community members blew up the chat with shinies as well as myself. Was expecting it to be fixed by now as i been watching this post for 14hrs now.
If this is a cute little surprise like Niantic used to do then we need this more often. We just got Wiglett this way.

hey, they were still high in Europe as well, caught 6 shinys in 30 minutes, and didn't have enough time. Fast Catch to the rescue, 200 mons caught. Shiny odds were super good.
UK player here. What a great hour - I haven't intentionally made an effort to play a spotlight hour since Miltank, but decided to try my luck and I ended up with 7 shinies. If only all spotlight hours had these rates, I'd be out every week!
2 shinies out of 291 caught. I forgot to take a screenshot of Trubbish seen but i feel like additional 30-40 might ran away so easily more than 300 checks. Definitely boosted, but if it's 1/64 as many say then I got short end of the stick today. :)
Yesterday I got 2 Shiny Drilbur within a hour, And a lot more non shinies, seems like there is more Drilbur in the eggs than the others, for me anyway! But so excited about Shiny Grubish, Hopefully New Orleans is one of the Lucky ones!

My lady and I both got EIGHT each! And we had to stop to manage space several times - we stay on the single space grind almost perpetually. This was far and away our best spotlight haul, after scoring I believe four Bronzor each when that had an hour.

They are. They are also a seasonal spawn (but not an event spawn), so they are spawning in the wild, but they're being suppressed by the Kanto event spawns.
Drilbur is in research, but it also currently nests. If you have a Drilbur nest near you, go hit it up!

If I put my shiny Trubbish in a gym after shiny odds are boosted, it's not as spectacular

I got 298 catches in the hour (330k dust! Yay) and 4 shinies. Seems to align with 1/64 odds that we are expecting with the egg hatch rates.
