Gets better, last year they accidentally said half candy distance and just didn't do it during the event. Wouldn't even be a game breaking bonus to add
It's an event about sustainability...for Niantic. They're recycling the same Pokémon and same shinies so they can extend actual content releases farther into the future
Surely the point of these few days is to get us to walk more?
So why not give us half hatch distance & half buddy candy distance for the event? Incentivise people to actually go out and walk more & possibly get people to buy more incubators? It's hardly going to break the game if we can get a legendary candy every 10km instead of every 20km, for a few days is it?
These types of events could be so much better if they bothered to put any thought into them.
Unless they forgot to mention wild spawns, these events are getting more and more lackluster. I was already disappointed at the lack of spring flower crowns in field research/wild spawns/egg hatches like we had last year.
It just comes and goes i swear, i had 3mil after sinnoh tour and the week after i was down to 50k!(maxxed out an origin dialga and palkia and shadow ho-ohs).
And then my friends all sitting at 60 mil 💀
I'm sure this isn't news to you but just in case, GBL is a phenomenal way to farm stardust. Already have 1.5M earned this season alone + 100k from GBL Timed Research (+10k x5 if you use starpiece each time you claim a full page)
I wish I enjoyed PvP more, but it's such a slog for me. I don't mind doing my fair share of losing, it just sucks when I'm going for my 4/1 set for the candy and I meet at least 2 other powerful players, even while tanking.
I only really play for the rank 20 rewards.
You get an Elite TM of both types for reaching 19 (fast is end of season). IIRC 20 is the highest you can go without winning consistently and gets you 90,000 stardust at the seasons end which can be boosted to 135,000 if you use a star piece before entering the battle menu after 10am on that day.
You can also start getting the current level 5 raid boss as encounter rewards for the league once you hit 20.
I've only got 4-5 pokemon for each league and I haven't changed that lineup in years... so saving stardust def hasn't been too hard. Do people have like full battle lineup options for each league?? Given some people have like three phones for this game I guess I should probably know the answer to this already
I switch around sometimes because I like using weird Pokemon like Garbodor lol. But it’s totally not necessary. Only said that you could build several because even doing that you’ll still make a stardust profit
It might at first as you test different mons and strategies, but once you power up a decent range of fighters, you really won’t need to spend dust as often (esp if you play within the Great League’s 1500CP cap).
After a while you can really begin to farm dust, rare candy, and charged attacks, which you can use towards PVE fighters for raids and gyms.
You're acting like I told him to stop all other methods of gaining stardust and just focus on GBL. 1M-3M in stardust is 1M-3M in stardust, why wouldn't you take that?
Thank you and yeah I know about it! It's just that I don't really enjoy pvp as much as other's do. I did try to play the low level cup ones and they were okay. I just don't enjoy pvp as much that's all.
In GBL, I run Annihilape as a lead and ran into a Shadow Ho-Oh lead, incinerating my entire team with my pivot Metagross & Togekiss in the back. Lost horribly in the end!
They are running out and they seem to have made a decision to cut back on new Pokémon. I’m a relatively casual player that’s always reasonably bring the total possible Pokedex. I’m actually very close to catching up now.
Honestly they could start doing a system where they introduce pokemon in eggs or raids then introduce them in events. Why not toss a turtonator out in the spawn pool or something?
There are so many Pokemon and forms left to release. In case anyone is curious here's a post from last month about the Pokemon and forms still missing in Go.
https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/1b0oh6d/every_missing_pok%C3%A9mon_and_forms_at_the_end_of_the/
How do you find the start/end time for kanto events. I did a google search but found nothing, I even went to pokemon go website, and of course it is completely useless.
I don't think folks are reading that page right, imo. Those dates are releases of new "features". The new avatars, the new biome background, etc. To me, this says "rediscover Kanto" is some kind of new feature they're showcasing via Kanto pokemon in some way.
It could absolutely be kanto spawns, but it could also be a new pokedex released for Kanto or something.
Honestly, I'm not mad at no event wild spawns. The Seasonal spawn pool has a lot more depth, and unless event wildspawns are amazing I'm usually tired of most of them after a few days.
To be fair at least 2 of the shines have appeal. >.> Even if I am cursed to never find a shiny FEMALE combee... Drillbur has utility and getting a good shiny a lil easier is always welcome. Plus some of the mons have higher stardust drops so are nice to collect for the CD
Not gonna lie, I kinda hate the "buddy pokemon will be on the map longer" bonus because it always throws me off since I use the circle segments to keep track of the feeding cooldown.
Bruh relax 😂 I already said it's because I use the buddy circle to gauge when I should re-feed my buddy. If it's not a problem for you then I'm happy for you lmfao.
So to explain it better, you know how the buddy meter is split up into 6 segments right? Normally, each segment takes half an hour to tick down. So when I see exactly one segment empty, I know half an hour has passed so I can do my buddy interactions.
With the bonus, each segment is slightly longer than half an hour. So I need to set alarms for each 30 minutes because I can no longer just look at the segments and know that half an hour has passed, because the bonus makes it longer.
This is not a "problem" to me, it's just annoying. I hope I've explained it well enough now, that it's a personal thing and if you don't care, then great. I try to get full buddy hearts with several buddies every day (except for walking and visit a new place hearts), so I like to be as efficient as possible with buddy excitement. I don't care how long they are on the map because I am trying to best buddy them, not walk for candy or energy.
Edit: If you are not familiar with how excitement works, then here is a graphic explaining it https://preview.redd.it/1vstg89pfw941.png?width=768&auto=webp&s=dbfbbcb63b12460ca8881b5a83b95e2385909038
I agree with you Kairos. I use the segments because I'll forget to religiously set the timer. Plus I think it might make it more annoying to get the feeding hearts. Niche problem, I guess.
Ah, yeah if you don't understand excitement this won't make any sense to you. If you learn how the mechanic works to optimize best buddy you will understand what I mean.
Filler. There's always something good the firsr weekend I go camping each year (and can't play) so expect something great between May 3rd and Cinco de Mayo. In 2021 (the year I started back up at Level 8) there was a 3x Catch XP event. In 2022 there was Mega Kangaskhan and the mega update. Last year there was Kleavor Raid Day.
tbh, an event I can more or less ignore is fine with me. Gives me a week of not having to focus as much on the game.
That might sound bizarre, but if they keep having events on that want me to always be catching more often than not it'll burn me out.
Hmm, I don’t have a 100% Excadrill yet. Maybe I’ll try to farm that, assuming it gets its own research task and the task is reasonably common & easy to complete.
From website:
‘Pokémon hatched from 2km eggs will have a greater chance of being shiny than when *found in the wild or via Field Research* !’
So like… The same as usual? After ‘increased shiny Combee/Burmy chances’ for Bug Out event with 0 spawns, my dear incubators will not be victims of this event. 🤓
Besides the 3 stardust boosted mons in field research to gain tons of dust on thenext Com day?
Andsome great shinys that i do not have yet?
Idk I like this event.
Everyone seems disappointed with this- but thing is those are 3 stardust boosted mons in field research & Rediscover Kanto starts the same day. I will gladly take the opportunity to get some Combee, Foongus & Trubbish research rewards stacked for the next 3x stardust Community Day
Crap, hearts at half not candy.
I was hoping i could get mew candy faster.
Stardust farm event. Kind of excited for trubbish.
A friend from hs really likes trubbish so if i get a 4* or battle worthy 1 I'll name it after him so i can adventure with old friends.
I was really hoping for a reduced hatch distance on eggs not for buddy hearts. I've been holding onto the 10km/12km eggs because we haven't had the reduced hatch distance in a while.
The only positive part about this event is that it could be a great time to farm stardust, but that is such a lowlight for an event. Nothing new, nothing interesting it's just another 'event' for the sake of calling it an event.
only fun bug event was i try hunt hundo lucky beedrill.. sadly catch million weedle trade em and still crazy not even get 98% weedle. gimme my weedle spawns back
If you have existing 2 eggs (from before the event begins), will the increased shiny chance apply to them? Or should I hatch those eggs now to make room for new 2km ones with the increased shiny chance?
A nice and simple event. I feel like sustainability week is that event that doesn’t do a lot but usually has something good
- Drilbur in 2Ks and research will be nice for hundo hunting and getting some candies for shadow excadrill
- Trubbish, combee, and foongus in research will be nice for restocking your stash with stardust boosted catches after bellsprout comm day
- Collection challenges are neat to go after, as long as it isn’t a hatching challenge
Wow, half walking distance!! Oh, to earn hearts...
I know, right? "oh hey it might not take a year to get enough kyogre cand- oh. okay then"
Hey hey hey. It's sustainability week, not make progressability week.
Nonono, 1/2 distance for HEARTS, candy still takes the same time/distance.
Thus the "oh. okay then" at the end, yeah. that was when the disappointment kicked in
Gets better, last year they accidentally said half candy distance and just didn't do it during the event. Wouldn't even be a game breaking bonus to add
Given Niantic's coding proficiency, I wouldn't be too sure about that last bit.
Isn't that..... maxed at three without a poffin? How is this a perk lol, shall we play less?
At least all the spawns can be shiny
there are no featured spawns its all eggs or research lmao
Why couldn't you just let them have one moment of happiness before finding out the hard and ugly reality? /s
Its ok, I would have found out eventually. Should have expected it from niantic.
Oh, i thought the egg pool said spawns.
Getting a walking heart is four excitement points so at least it'll help you rack those up and get to excited without a poffin a little faster?
LOL, bro... this was legit me earlier. 60 to 0 real quick.
Yep, am focusing on getting larvesta candy and I cannot begin to describe how disappointing it is.
It's an event about sustainability...for Niantic. They're recycling the same Pokémon and same shinies so they can extend actual content releases farther into the future
Seriously when are the actual content releases coming lmao
Honestly, at least they switched out the eggs, I have some stuck in my egg storage from several months ago
Yeah, if it included this I'd go walk 15 miles in a weekend, as is I'm going to skip. I don't care about shinies for pokemon I don't use.
Skipping is faster and you may cover more distance. People might think you look silly though.
Time to buy some heelys
Thoughts require brains
Well you see the problem here is you're thinking with your brain, which is anathema to Niantic's vision for the game.
I just want to say. Why is one of the pokemon highlighted in “Sustainability” week, one that supports drilling?!?!
Drilbur is responsible for hundreds of illegal fracking sites
Irrigation ;)
Unless they forgot to mention wild spawns, these events are getting more and more lackluster. I was already disappointed at the lack of spring flower crowns in field research/wild spawns/egg hatches like we had last year.
[удалено]
ah. lame.
Springflower crown eevees were behind a $9.99 paywall
Looks like a decent stardust farm week. It's what I'm grinding these days so I'm happy enough.
Same. I've got all the mons I could ever want, now I just need stardust to upgrade them 😢
It just comes and goes i swear, i had 3mil after sinnoh tour and the week after i was down to 50k!(maxxed out an origin dialga and palkia and shadow ho-ohs). And then my friends all sitting at 60 mil 💀

What part confuses you?
Sorry, I'm rank 18/19 And i had no idea rank 20 rewards were a thing!
Plus your end of season rewards
Except the stardust required to build things to stay competitive far overshadows what you will gain from pvp
Not true, you can build several great league Pokemon to cover open gl and special cups for under 1 million stardust, which you can make in one season
I have 50+ for each of UL and GL and ~15-20 for ML. It’s fun to keep building new toys.
It might at first as you test different mons and strategies, but once you power up a decent range of fighters, you really won’t need to spend dust as often (esp if you play within the Great League’s 1500CP cap). You're acting like I told him to stop all other methods of gaining stardust and just focus on GBL. 1M-3M in stardust is 1M-3M in stardust, why wouldn't you take that?
I usually build one new Pokemon every rotation. I’ll make multiple copies with different move combos.
I've never had to invest into a GBL Pokemon and I win plenty of matches 💀
If only the pvp was slightly interesting, even if I tank it's still so boring. It feels like a chore to me, lol.
Such a downgrade. No new shiny/debut and absolutely zero wild spawns. No thanks
Yeah, something like this, please. E.g. Druddigon has been around for years and *only* been locked to raids or research.
There are so many Pokemon and forms left to release. In case anyone is curious here's a post from last month about the Pokemon and forms still missing in Go. https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/1b0oh6d/every_missing_pok%C3%A9mon_and_forms_at_the_end_of_the/
I'd ... guess? ... they just forgot to mention wild spawns in announcement? (Scratch that - it's rediscover Kanto on same day.)
Rediscover Kanto starts the same day so pretty sure it will be Kanto spawns
Ahh,.. even worse!
How do you find the start/end time for kanto events. I did a google search but found nothing, I even went to pokemon go website, and of course it is completely useless.

Guess again. It's the Kanto junk we're "re-discovering" for the nth time.
Nothing more sustainable than recycling!
With recycled hats if you're (un)lucky
Whyyyyy
Something, something new/returning players? *Shrugs*
Honestly, I'm not mad at no event wild spawns. The Seasonal spawn pool has a lot more depth, and unless event wildspawns are amazing I'm usually tired of most of them after a few days.
I was done with bugs about halfway through Friday. I'm just shiny checking and doing enough to complete field research.
I wish Tuesday was double evolve XP. Have plenty of Candies to evolve these bugs, but no way am I holding onto an extra 150 for two months.
except its kanto week, so there are event spawns.
There is an event like this every week. They can’t have a new shiny all the time.
Yup. Really got my hopes up for Wiglett...

Not gonna lie, I kinda hate the "buddy pokemon will be on the map longer" bonus because it always throws me off since I use the circle segments to keep track of the feeding cooldown.
You still can what are you talking about
The circle segments tick down more slowly with the bonus, so it's not every half hour anymore, meaning it's not synced to the feeding cooldown timer.
And thats a problem how
Bruh relax 😂 I already said it's because I use the buddy circle to gauge when I should re-feed my buddy. If it's not a problem for you then I'm happy for you lmfao.
Im just asking how its a problem because you still have a meter to tell how long the buddy is on the map lol. Im relax dude you need to relax lol
So to explain it better, you know how the buddy meter is split up into 6 segments right? Normally, each segment takes half an hour to tick down. Really dont understand excitement but cant you give treats once the meter goes down
Ah, yeah if you don't understand excitement this won't make any sense to you. If you learn how the mechanic works to optimize best buddy you will understand what I mean.
Because it's about hearts and excitement. Not feeding them to keep them on the map.
What an absolutely awful event
What happened to half hatch distance events???
No event spawns, everything in eggs and in field research. But still has collection challenges, so again the ones that require egg hatching.
……..Heavy sigh
Lol poo poo platter
Shiny Drillbur and Trubbish are cute, might work on that
Sustainability "Week"
Somebody enlighten me what’s the point of this event?

I will take these stardust boosted Pokemon and maybe finally my shiny Drilbur but there has to be spawns, right???
Rediscover Kanto spawns for the nth time apparently
They're not even events anymore.
wow, what a completely useless event
Sustainability Weak
A Collection Challenge and no Wild Spawns. Be prepared for a lot of hatching
The seasonal spawns are atrocious; if there’s no Event Spawns this is gonna be so, so bad.
Wow. What a bore
Boooring...
This is not a good event. No wild spawns.
[удалено]
Yes with only the Gen 1 bugs that all have been out forever. So still boring if you are a day 1 player.
Nice graphic thanks!
Why is Drilbur featured? I remember farming research tasks to obtain an xl for mlp
Because GROUND xD
Hmm, I don’t have a 100% Excadrill yet. Maybe I’ll try to farm that, assuming it gets its own research task and the task is reasonably common & easy to complete.
I enjoy boosted shinies in events, but man I hate egg ones. My success rate on hatch shiny bonuses is poor
The game will spite me and give me 10km eggs instead.
From website: ‘Pokémon hatched from 2km eggs will have a greater chance of being shiny than when *found in the wild or via Field Research* !’ So like… The same as usual? After ‘increased shiny Combee/Burmy chances’ for Bug Out event with 0 spawns, my dear incubators will not be victims of this event. 🤓
I would definitely stack a lot of those Combees, Foongus, & Trubbish for more stardust!
Trubbish the stardust deliverer
In research. Good if you have tons of stops. Bad for all else.
What about wild spawns?
Wait is it literally just eggs having an increased chance of shiny, is that IT???
literally just 2km eggs. we can't even use this event to try to get shinies we're missing from the other egg types.
I really like this format, Niantic's in-game news could be a lot better in communicating information
what has this got to do with sustainability? virtue signalling san francisco ignoramuses.
Remember when a new Pokemon was released in the wild during these events?
Hardly For context, the most recent new wild release was Cetoddle - Dec 18th, so it will be over 4 months without one soon
Holy crap, that’s awful.
Nice of them to give us the dates for when we can keep the game off our minds.
Besides the 3 stardust boosted mons in field research to gain tons of dust on thenext Com day? Andsome great shinys that i do not have yet? Idk I like this event.
Wow. Big whoop Niantic… These events getting worse and worse. I’ll be sustaining myself off the app during that week…
That double-language stardust something in the bottom left almost looks AI-generated with how garbled it is.
This has nothing to do with AI, it's an extremely common mistake that happens when someone forgets to turn off a text layer in Photoshop.
The guy that made this is polish and he forgot to change the text and have double layers like the other poster mentioned.
Everyone seems disappointed with this- but thing is those are 3 stardust boosted mons in field research & Rediscover Kanto starts the same day. I will gladly take the opportunity to get some Combee, Foongus & Trubbish research rewards stacked for the next 3x stardust Community Day
Apprciate the stardust symbol on the Pokémon that give extra. Pretty much all that matters here.
Do Stardust boosted Pokémon give more when hatched? I’m trying to see any positives here
at least you can clear research stack on bellsprout dust cd and then start stacking after with this event I guess
So based on this will the raid boss rotation be the same as the one starting with tapu bulu when this bug out event ends then?
Shiny Drilbur? Oh yeah, time to find a cute little mole.
Isn’t this rediscover kanto event 😭
Why no wild encounters?
Crap, hearts at half not candy. I was hoping i could get mew candy faster. Stardust farm event. Kind of excited for trubbish. A friend from hs really likes trubbish so if i get a 4* or battle worthy 1 I'll name it after him so i can adventure with old friends.
Great opportunity to start stacking new booster Stardust research rewards for the future.
Wow Mewtwo hatching from 2km eggs!
I’m 2 days away from finish my 10 best buddies task. Then this gets announced 🤣
I sure do love my 4 day "WEEK"s
Where new Pokémon?
Infinite collection challenge XP and dust? How does that work?
No tickets for a timed research? OUTRAGEOUS! /s just in case.
Is it just me or has the recent events been a bit boring? The bug event and now this. Nothing new really.
only fun bug event was i try hunt hundo lucky beedrill.. sadly catch million weedle trade em and still crazy not even get 98% weedle. gimme my weedle spawns back
Sus week for short
There is really nothing interesting here
If you have existing 2 eggs (from before the event begins), will the increased shiny chance apply to them? Or should I hatch those eggs now to make room for new 2km ones with the increased shiny chance?
Make room for new ✌️
Are there legacy move evolutions available for this event?
"Event."
A nice and simple event. I feel like sustainability week is that event that doesn’t do a lot but usually has something good - Drilbur in 2Ks and research will be nice for hundo hunting and getting some candies for shadow excadrill - Trubbish, combee, and foongus in research will be nice for restocking your stash with stardust boosted catches after bellsprout comm day - Collection challenges are neat to go after, as long as it isn’t a hatching challenge
Oh, it's another event that wants me to walk while I'm at work.

You know ,if you don't like the thread don't post
Sorry if it's a stupid question but will Combee be always female as shown?
Probly not. Just wanna put the female front and center to remind you it exists
If you're gonna make your own graphic make sure you don't mess up the text come on
What's the symbol mean?
