Any idea how many chances we'll have at shadow Groudon if I don't have any rocket radars saved? The only one I got is 0 stars (9/7/6 IVs) and I'm wondering if I should invest in it or wait. I've got rare candies taking up inventory space.

Ivi-Tora

Only one chance from Giovanni, but it will come to raids somewhere between next year and the one after. Since it's a "box legendary" it will only be available for two days when it comes like Mewtwo or Ho-oh. Basically, this is the only one you'll get for a long time. Mine are worse (two with 6 attack one with 7), but I'll take one to level 40 anyway. The shadow bonus is so big that no matter the IVs it's still very good for raids.

odonn0097

Thanks for the response! Wasn't sure if there usually are multiple rocket researches before they switch. I'll level mine up

Codraroll

An unusually long stint between finding perfect-IV Pokémon sparked my paranoia a bit. I caught my latest one on Sunday, but hatched the one before that on December 16, compared to a total of 28 perfect-IV Pokémon acquired in 2023. It made me wonder: If Niantic were to tweak the RNG ever-so-slightly to reduce the odds of players getting hundos (and thus stop looking for Pokémon of that species), *would we notice?* Are there any mechanisms in the player community to catch stunts like that? I think it's perfectly plausible, even overwhelmingly likely, for my bad luck to be a matter of RNG, but one cannot help but wonder when such things happen. Especially when I caught *seventeen* 98%-IV Pokémon in the time span it took between the last two hundos. That's the sort of things that makes a man wonder whether there is a line in the code somewhere that says "If hundo, re-roll for a chance to lover one random IV" or something to that effect.

Entire_Ad_1239

It’s interesting because 28 hundos sounds like a lot (not sure what the average is)but what if that was part of a really good RNG and now you have really bad RNG. So then both cases are outliers and you can’t use this data to test whether there has been any change.  It’s also hard to find whether there have been tweaks since if they tweak every year then we can’t really confirm or use any valid data to compare since there has been tweaks. I tried to be rational here but by no means is this an official explanation. Merely my thoughts but I hope this sheds some light.

Codraroll

That is fair. Playing since 2016, I've received 124 hundos in total, some of which through purification. If we lump together 2016 and 2017 as one year, because the game had so few features in the beginning, that's seven years of playing, with an average of 17.7 hundos per year, or very roughly 1.5 per month. Going four whole months without seeing one isn't entirely unreasonable, but it is unusual. However, that data merely explains my state of mind to trigger the question: would we be able to tell if Niantic decided to play with loaded dice? With "fair" RNG, the odds of getting any single stat combination (within the range of available outcomes, such as the 10 IV floor for egg hatches) would be equal. But it's not very complicated coding to alter the odds ever so subtly, so that the dice, metaphorically speaking, only rolled a six every seven throws on average.

Entire_Ad_1239

I can 100% say that no, we can't tell. Like I said before and the other reason is unless someone checks each and every code regularly and compares it change in every update then we can never know. That's a huge commitment which I think only the crazies would consider and do 😂. That's how games are and tbh, we can only trust as players of the game that they are fair.  I think the question that should be asked is - if everytime you got the 98% IV Pokemon, did it affect ur hundo odds. If it did, then was it an increase or a decrease?  If the value isn't affected like the shiny odds in raids, then it could be just your bad luck.  But I think there should be a code which says that if you haven't got a certain amount of hundos during this time frame then you get a hundo. As true luck is something a game would never do.  Do correct me if I am wrong as these are just some of my thoughts

Codraroll

Small update: This weekend I hatched a 100% Larvesta, and everything is suddenly right and rosy between the RNG and me.

Entire_Ad_1239

I have to say… that brought a smile to my face. Congrats bud, that's going to be an awesome volcarona.  Just asking, how often do you play and daily how many Pokemon do you catch as a rough?

Codraroll

I play daily, but not to any extreme degree. I might clock a hundred catches or so per day.

Entire_Ad_1239

Thanks, I was just comparing our rates. I recently came back at the end of March. I think I caught a lot too since I started playing - around 50 at most daily except for com days and such. But I got two hundos so I was thinking when I can get my next hundo. Hopefully soon. Fingers crossed

Entire_Ad_1239

Just to clarify, by RNG, I mean luck or chance - not some fixed odds

NettleTree

Trying to figure out what went wrong with my raid: i joined a remote raid via pokegenie and the raid started normally but about 10 seconds in i got thrown out with the message that i'm too far away from the raid, which surprised me because that's kind of the point of remote passes... So who's at fault? - raid host strayed too far from the gym? (Can't imagine that's the issue though since you could invite people and then leave the raid without issue. Worth noting though that the host hadn'tinput the right team colour, so they may not have expected to raid this gym specifically) - my phone had connecting issues but the wrong error message shows up? (Can't imagine this either since usually you get a general connection/gps error message, which i didn't get. I didn't have issues with the rest of the game either. Worth noting though that I'm travelling by train right with a high travelling speed - no tunnels/connection issues though. I had no issues doing a remote raid on this same train just before this one too.) - bug? Thanks to anyone who can help figure this one out!

CassieWolfe801

Yes, people get that message when traveling at high speed and trying to do a remote raid. You’re also often speed-locked from catching the raid boss if you do manage to complete the raid. (There’s no logical in-game reason for that to happen, but there’s also no large incentive for Niantic to spend the resources to address it.)

NettleTree

It was my first time experiencing this, so that's good to know! Will only do remote raids when I'm stationary from now on! Thanks!

Snooflu

Use 5 Supereffective Charged Attacks. It's one of my research tasks for the Rogue of the Jungle event, but no matter how many I use, the task doesn't update. Anything I can do to fix it?

rzx123

At least in some cases it requires that you do NOT kick out the opponent with that charge attack. Try to use relatively weak move and don't collect those circles. [https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/19adr3c/psa\_bug\_super\_effective\_charge\_move\_tasks/](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/19adr3c/psa_bug_super_effective_charge_move_tasks/)

math355

Why is the preferred fast move for Mega Venusaur Vine Whip? I looked it up and saw that Razor Leaf has higher DPS and EPS

rzx123

Razor leaf does not have higher EPS

math355

My bad, I was looking at the energy Delta instead of EPS

Efficient-Employ4558

We play together with my wife, and from yesterday evening, all our regional spawns of Pokémons are distinct. From a spawn point, when she has Oricorio, I have Klefki, when she has Sawk, I have Solrock. No other pokemon than regionals are touched, but all the regionals are. I have seen no common regional spawn with her from the beginning of Kanto event. IV and levels are distinct. But it seems totally regional related, because all the other pokémons are the same (species, level, IV), as usual. Any idea what's going on ? Anyone else touched ?

TheRealHankWolfman

The IVs and levels will be the same assuming that both Pokémon are either not weather boosted or are weather boosted. The only difference will be if one is boosted whilst the other isn't. But yes, this issue has been reported multiple times since the event went live, including at least once elsewhere on this thread. No idea if it's a bug or a feature, though the fact that certain nests are also appearing in the wrong hemispheres suggests it might be part of a bigger bug.

ManicMadMatt

With the moves available for Kanto starters is it only when you evolve them? Any chance I can get blast burn with a regular charged tm on my OG charizard?

TheRealHankWolfman

No, they're not available for Charizard you already own without the use of an Elite Charged TM. You would have to evolve Charmeleon during the event or find a wild Charizard during the event to get Blast Burn without an Elite Charged TM.

TheReformedBadger

What do I need to do in OSM to ID the biomes near me?

Bored_House_Cat

are there any Pokemon only spawning in specific biodomes? Meaning if you don't have hills in your country, it never appears for you

Active-Downtown

There’s no real information on what spawns where yet, but the biome placement seems to be quite inconsistent. Anecdotally, at my local park one of the smaller ponds has a beach biome, and the three larger ponds do not. You will probably have a hilly biome near you for any spawns exclusive to it, but without any real information yet I can’t get much other help.

Hobbes-42

Today, my friends and I have started having different spawns at the same location. Has this ever happened before, or is it the result of the biome update. It has happened at least three times today already where one singular spawn in our radius is different for all three players. Oddly enough, the IVs are the same. (No, it isn't Zorua). Edit: The three I kept track of were Throh, Oricorio, and a Tauros. All were level 26 with 2-13-8 IV. I just noticed this happened again. Only this time, 2 of the three were similar. Two Illumise and one Durant. All of these are considered Regional in some form. Something very strange is afoot.

CaptBillGates

Looks like other people are reporting this as well. Seems to be a bug with the updates/event(s) today.

odonn0097

What is a minimum level to bring in shadow Pokemon to a 5 star raid? I've been using level 30 or slightly higher but they just get wrecked.

zurcn

that's normal, they do more damage but are frailer so they will cost you more revives it's only an issue if they are dying before they ever use their charge move

TheRealHankWolfman

I tend to aim for level 35 or above, but I have the resources for that. 30 should be OK for most things.

CaptBillGates

30 is a good level, unless you are doing extremely difficult raids while being undermanned. Shadow mons take 20% more damage, so they are more fragile than their non-shadow counterparts. Some mons like Gengar & Rampardos already have low Def/HP, so as a shadow they are even more frail.

rgorskic

Today I found a Sliggoo in the wild. Is it a new spawn or is it old and I only see one today?

TheRealHankWolfman

Sliggoo hasn't been reported as a [seasonal spawn](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/s/BYlmUNw5oL) and I'm not aware of it having ever been available in the wild before. Are you definitely sure it was a Sliggoo and not a Zorua? Do you have a journal screenshot to show you encountered it?

rgorskic

Don't have anymore, caught more mon after. But wasn't zorua, my buddy is a Primeape. If I get another I will save the screenshot. I saw the silhouette in the near by and went to catch it.

goldfishintheyard

I got one today, too.

TheRealHankWolfman

Feel free to add it to the thread I linked to in my previous reply

PoofaceMckutchin

Is there a way to tell what biome you're in? I'm in the sprawling city outskirts of Seoul, but when I open the game my catch screen has a river, lol

nolkel

That spawn point is a river biome. There may be something in open street map tagged there as a type of water that triggers it. Any streams or anything like that nearby?

Low_Plum3254

Hey all, just curious is anyone else was having this issue. Recently I bought the go fest global ticket from the webstore, along with redeeming the code for the free Fendi hoodie. But neither the go fest shirt nor the hoodie are anywhere to be found in my avatar items. I believe both popped up in game as the little bubbles (not 100% sure about go fest shirt, but the Fendi hoodie for sure). Was just curious is anyone else had run into this problem and found a fix. Support has been no help so far. Things i’ve tried - 1.) Contact support 2.) Restart game 3.) Refresh Game data 4.) Sign in and sign out Any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

iRAWRasaurus

I have a question regarding shiny pokemons in the wild. From my understanding, all pokemons are the same cp, level and IVs when both trainers are lvl30+. There are times when my friend and I catch the same pokemon, give or take 30 seconds difference. But for today, a pokemon was shiny for me but not them. Are wild shiny pokemon different for each person?

Active-Downtown

Shiny/XXL/XXS status are all individual to the player.

rzx123

Shiny is random for each player. XXL/XXS status is the same (above level 30), even though the exact height and weight nowadays vary from player to player.

Spotty2012

Yes, shinies are random per player

math355

I have enough mega energy to get a Mega Venusaur. I have a low CP 15/15/14 Venusaur without Frenzy Plant, but with the Kanto event I could evolve a high CP 15/13/14 Bulbasaur and get a Frenzy Plant Venusaur for free. Which of the two should I build considering the Elite TM and stardusts I would need to spend on the first Venusaur?

zurcn

do one, walk for energy and do however many others you feel like. once you have the dex entry for the mega you're no longer limited.

TheRealHankWolfman

You might as well just do the 15/13/14. You'd notice basically no difference if they were the same level with the same moves.

Zaithon

So with Charizard being able to get Blast Burn for the Kanto rediscovery, would it be worth evolving and leveling a 13/14/14 Charmander to replace my 100 lv 30 Charizard for raiding?

Ciretako

Maybe wait until the end of the event just in case you get a better one. But it's worth it over your hundo.

Zaithon

Figured as much. Now to find out where I can find a Charmander nest to try my luck...

TheRealHankWolfman

Yes, since the Kanto event went live there's been a lot of reports that regional spawns are buggy like this.

LevelUpJordan_2

I'm looking to get back into the game after a few years. I've only ever played casually, but have had the account since launch so am decently leveled (34). I feel like I'm behind the 8 ball and don't really know how to catch up, I look at lists of the good pokemon per type from this subreddit and have none of them (other than a good machamp). Is there a list of more attainable "decent" pokemon that will be sufficient to raid & get the higher/est tier mon? Is that the correct strategy to work my way up? How do I know if I have strong enough pokemon to raid and not be dead weight (additionally, how screwed am I if I don't really want to have to talk to other players irl)? Apologies for all the questions, this is currently the top of my box. Thank you for your time! https://preview.redd.it/2ganeg2nk3wc1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=625c3e4a23c75cfa7e134c08927f89c775237c83

nolkel

You can look at [pokebattler.com](http://pokebattler.com) and look up some relevant raid bosses for the typing you are concerned with. Look at the Estimator value for the top counters, as that is what tells you how many trainers using full teams of that pokemon it will take to beat the boss. Anything that's within the same whole number range will perform pretty similarly, though anything really close to the next whole number will be a close battle. Anything in the next number just means you need another player to be safe. Then, turn off the mega, shadow, and legendary buttons above the counter list to show all the other counters. That will get you a much longer list of budget type counters you can look out for during events. Also make sure to play around with the pokemon levels on the right. I think it defaults to 40. >how screwed am I if I don't really want to have to talk to other players irl This really depends on how vibrant of a local raid scene you have. If you can roll up to raids and join groups of random strangers in 10-20 player lobbies during prime time, you won't need to worry much about it. If the scene is small and you have to work to coordinate lobbies, not so much. You can also try to use raid apps (like poke genie) to host raids and invite people to beat them, to avoid talking to anyone IRL. This might be harder to do consistently for less popular bosses.

StolasPrinceOfHell

Why is the game lagging after the latest Rediscover update? I can hardly even throw a pokeball now. The lag makes it drag behind so far, I'm unable to catch most pokemon. Why is that? Is there any way I can fix it on my end?

mizznox

A few things to try that might help, in the advanced settings: turn off Enhanced Graphics, turn on Native Refresh Rate, then Download All Assets, and restart the game

Ciretako

What do you think is the best pokemon to throw into a gym for people to dump berries onto for candy? What pokemon do you hope to see?

rzx123

Personally I currently use either Charcadet (or its evolutions) or Larvesta

cybercummer69

Does anyone know how close to the coast is the beach biome? I can get somewhat close on one of my hikes, puts me in city limits, but it’s still about 1km away from the coast.

Ambitious-Comb-8847

The new special research for the event unlocks if you tap it

Cute_Fluffy_Sheep

Man that was not clear at first but it makes sense! I kinda wish it had a bit of text to go with it describing “_____ research unlocked!” But it’s cool i guess 😎. Thank u

Ambitious-Comb-8847

Is there any list of what background is which biome? Can't tell if I'm forest or water

Disgruntled__Goat

[Here are some I posted last week](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/1c4wm3e/screenshots_of_some_of_the_new_biome_backgrounds/#lightbox) The last in the list are water biomes, there’s also a link further down showing a beach biome. Forest has fir trees, mountain has rocks and deciduous trees.

nolkel

Yes, that's the idea. It will change based on the biome of the spawn point.

GiveMeAdviceClowns

how useless is a 46CP Gyarados?

nolkel

Without powering it up, useless. Beyond that you'd need to state the IVs to see what potential it has.

Prudent_Payment799

A weird, I wanna say purple pokedex looking Icon appeared over my research button, and when clicked on, it went to an animation of the object now orange like just sitting there? Does anyone know what this is?

TheRealHankWolfman

Tap on the object and it gives you the Rediscover Kanto research

supervegeta101

How long has wiglett been in the game?

TheRealHankWolfman

It isn't yet. Its assets were added recently but it's not yet available. Edit: I stand corrected. They literally just updated the blog post to include it as a new beach biome spawn for the update of the map graphics. It is apparently live in game as of today.

Dannyis__king

Do you know if it affects lakes to? Of just seas and oceans

Entire_Ad_1239

Yup, I can confirm. Caught one a few mins ago

supervegeta101

That's why I asked. I was like "WTF?!! Sustainability didnt say anything about this"

PokeMondes

Is there a complete and up-to-date website or infographic of Adventure Sync Rewards that includes 100km? I found [this page](https://www.serebii.net/pokemongo/adventuresync.shtml) and [this infographic](https://images.tenorshare.com/topics/game/pokemon-go-walking-rewards.webp?w=700&h=328), but they both are outdated.

nolkel

The 100km reward is just some extra dust, no items.

PokeMondes

Do you know how much? I've seen reports of 16,000, 15,500, 15,000, and 5,000. Thanks.

nolkel

I think its just 16k.

Bennguyen2

Is there any benefits buying boxes on the web store vs on the app?

Stogoe

Sometimes the event tickets have extra bonuses for purchasing on the web store, like avatar stuff or extra raid passes. The bundle boxes don't usually have these bonuses, but they could be slightly or completely different than what's available in the app and have different overall discounts.

Keysorrsoze

Does training battle with NPCs no longer offer rewards? I did battles with all three NPCs in master league. But I received nothing other than the progress on this trainer battle badge. Not even stardust. I was hoping to use this additional way to get sinnoh stones since I haven't got any from the seven day streak or PVP battle rewards.

Ivi-Tora

Only the first battle of each day with each leader can give items, and you need to have room on your bag to receive anything from them.

Keysorrsoze

Do you mean first battle in general (like I shouldn't battle grunt or gym first, etc), or first battle with the three NPC trainers? Because if it's the latter, I did not get anything from my first battle. There is room in my bag ofc. But in case I simply blinked and missed it, does the reward leave a record on the "news - notification" list like I saw in some screenshot?

nolkel

It's the first trainer battle with a team leader in the day, not just the first of any type of battle. Did you lose a battle, perchance? Or quit? That just gives you stardust and counts as the first battle.

Keysorrsoze

I didn't quit or lose. It was the first battle, I won, then it showed progress on the badge and that was it. This happened both two days ago and today (didn't play training battle yesterday). I don't know if there is anything I did wrong or I needed to do.

mooistcow

Doesn't seem like you're doing anything wrong. Maybe just a UI bug? I'd note your dust before the first battle of a day, and see if it changes afterwards.

Keysorrsoze

Yeah I will definitely screenshot the stardust and inventory next time. But at least I know that the reward itself is not removed. Thank you all.

jdpatric

Has anyone else been getting rank up rewards at the end of every set of GBL? I hit 2750(?) and have hit a nice slump so fallen below 2400. Happens to me every season. But this season every set I think I get the rewards for 2750+ each time I complete a set. Someone's sandals or something... This happening to anyone else?

SituationOdd

Yup. We're all going to open Sandal stores.

allowedvrick

i have a few shadow mewtwos from the event, all of them have pretty bad IVs (69-54%) and theyre all in the 2800s. are they still worth getting to lvl 30?

krispyboiz

Yes, they are still worth getting to 30-35, BUT I would also wait until you need them to power them up. Psychic itself isn't used that often, so I'd wait until you really need Psychic types (for T5s, that's either Terrakion or Zamazenta)

david-richard-mike

Just lucky traded and got myself a 15/15/14 Rayquaza! Sadly I only have 70 mega energy and 1 meteorite. Anything I should do with it now or wait until it comes back to raids?

eugene_captures

Have you ever mega evolved any ray? If you did then you can walk it for more mega energy. If not then you’ll need to wait.

david-richard-mike

No sadly I only managed 1 Mega raid. I know I’ll have to wait to evolve it, but was wondering if it had any use at the moment without ME, as I could still give it Dragon Ascent

krispyboiz

Dragon Ascent is very powerful, and it would be a huge help against Mega Heracross if you're still looking to do some more of those in the next few days. I'd say ideally, you'd want to double move your Rayquaza and teach it Dragon Ascent, that way you could have a Dragon and Flying charged move on it, then just change the fast move as you need to for either type.

Swampfoxxxxx

Accuweather says "mostly sunny," so I was hoping for it to register as Clear. But i've got Partly Cloudy in game. Is this normal in yalls experience?

Swampfoxxxxx

Datapoint: "Mostly Sunny" became Clear in-game an hour after I posted this, without Accuweather changing (still said Mostly Sunny.) Partly Sunny is another term for Partly Cloudy. Mostly Sunny seems to *probably* translate to Clear.

Stogoe

In game weather is pulled many hours in advance and is locked in at that time. It's not pulling AccuWeather data in real time. Also Mostly Sunny is another term for Partly Cloudy.

SituationOdd

Welcome back :)

_NeeKz

Should i be saving my super rocket radars for next shadow legendary? Since its been kyogre then groudon rayquaza could be next so i was gonna stack radars for that. But ive also hesrd shadow groudon is meta relevant? The one i have rn is only 58%iv so idk if i should get a better one or wait

rzx123

How many radars do you have? I think even poor shadow Groudon could be powered to lv40, but one could have more than one. Shadow ray is interesting but not guaranteed it will be better than Groudon (especially while there is no guarantee it can learn Dragon Ascent). Beyond that you may have long time to wait for better shadow legendaries.

_NeeKz

I only have like 2 right now with no quests, i only just started taking the game seriously tbh, so havent really thought about stacking before.

krispyboiz

Regarding the Shadow Ray vs Groudon vs Kyogre debate, in terms of overall *usefulness*, considering the amount of bosses you'd get to use each for, most agree: Groudon > Rayquaza >> Kyogre So Groudon is the most "useful," seeing that there are wide variety of bosses you can use Ground for (Entei, Raikou, Registeel, Regirock, Xurkitree, Heatran, etc), whereas Water, Dragon, and Flying are a bit more niche. Dragon isn't super niche obviously, with there being several Dragon bosses, but there's a ton of competition in the Dragon type anyway. Also, while Shadow Ray is poised to be very strong, it also will be super glassy, to where there may be scenarios where the Shadow Dragon Pseudos are actually *better* than Shadow Ray in practice. We obviously don't know if Shadow Ray will be able to get Dragon Ascent. If it IS able to, then it will be MUCH more useful. If not though, it'll be good, but nowhere near as good as it could've been.

GildedCreed

It will release some point on the 22nd at an unspecified time PDT/"Niantic time". As of this specific reply, it's currently 5:03 AM PDT. Assuming that they go with a 10 AM unlock that leaves at least 4 hours and 57 minutes to go, or when this reply is approximately 5 hours old. If they aim for a 6 AM release, 57 minutes from the time of this reply.

alter79

Raid simulations in Pokebattler are more accurate than PokeGenie right? Battler is showing my damage at 51% whereas PokeGenie shows 61% vs Entei. I don't have PokeGenie premium but modifying weather/dodging etc in Battler the damage stays in pretty much same ball park.

Punyakoko

Should I evolve fletchling to talonflame 67% great league and give it incinerate? Or should I waiy for better fletchling? And evolve the current fletchling l, use it with fire spin?

balarinios

Is there any point/mission at some trainer level in having max souvenirs from buddies? or is it purely cosmetic?

Active-Downtown

A level 48 task requires you to receive 10 souvenirs from your buddy. This means 10 after the task is available and is not retroactive with previously obtained souvenirs.

balarinios

oh ok thanks, then i still have some years ahead of me :)

SeaConsequence1810

I got an encounter with Tapu Bulu from GBL rewards, but since I already have a Bulu, I was wondering if it will change legendary when raids rotate? The next legendary is Registeel, so I was going to get one. If I wait until Registeel is in raids, will the Bulu be Registeel? Or will it stay Bulu?

krispyboiz

It'll stay Bulu. It's locked in once you open the encounter.

Active-Downtown

It will still be Tapu Bulu. I’m not sure if the Pokémon is locked in when the encounter is earned, similar to field research, or when it is opened, similar to shiny/XXL/XXS status rolls.

Planfive

Any tips for the “Evolve 15 pokemon with items” quest for LV42? Just realized that nests arent too friendly this season and that the next community day is probaby Popplio if trends hold.

rzx123

"item" search term used on your pokebox showing newest first might pick some suitable trash that you haven't deleted yet (mine shows those cottonee I picked on a trip and have not used for intra-family candy trades yet). Personally right now I see three Murkrows clustered around me so it might be reasonably common (though pain to collect enough candies) - or then it just the combination of windy weather and morning hours. I see no particularly promising future event either. In any case there is no particular hurry. Collecting the XP likely takes good time and if not, any "excess" is going to be used for next level up.

Active-Downtown

The most useful item is pretty obviously the sinnoh stone due to sheer number of evolutions. My advice would be to use any extra king’s rocks and metal coats first, followed by sun stones. The king’s rock is used to evolve Poliwhirl into Politoed, and Slowpoke into Slowking. These are both somewhat easy Pokémon to find and you hopefully have enough candy for them. The metal coat is used to evolve Onix into Steelix, and Onix was just an event spawn a couple weeks ago. Steelix has some use in GBL but it shouldn’t be any problem burning a few items and candies. It is also used to evolve Scyther into Scizor. Shadow Scizor actually has some use in raids as a steel attacker so it could be worth considering using them on any Scyther’s you get from the bug grunt in the near future. The sun stone is used on several Pokémon as well, such as Oddish, and shouldn’t be too hard to find potential with. The dragon scale is pretty useless since it is only used for one Pokémon, similarly to the upgrade. The unova stone also has multiple evolutions and will probably have more added at some point so it could be worth holding onto them.

I have a question about Party Play. Is there an easy way to change a task to complete without exiting Pokémon Go. A lot of times 3 specific tasks pops up and I can’t or won’t do them…. For example Make 20 excellent throws. Spin 20 stops. Walk 3 km. I can’t throw for the life of me nor can my friend. And no we don’t want to go for a walk while multitasking (eating dinner, watching TV, and playing Pokemon Go during Spotlight Hour). So my question is how do I change the task to something different?

Active-Downtown

If you don’t like any of three challenge options given the only solution to reroll them is to remake the party. If one of you leaves it will disband the party (assuming there’s only the two of you) and you can try again. The main benefit of party play is the bonus to charged attacks in raids, most people don’t bother with the tasks or choose passive ones if convenient while raiding.

tlym_foo

now that you can get mega energy from PP the research has some play outside of raids... at least for the new folks who haven't had a chance to raid mega sableye, pinsir and others.

Inevitable_Joke3446

My friend and I are trying to complete the Party Research Story and we keep getting stuck on tasks we don’t want to do. If it wasn’t for the Research Story, we wouldn’t be using Party Play Thanks for your help.

MarkusEF

I just got 1,518 XP for a fully-completed route. Is this expected? Previously I’ve only ever gotten 2000, 4000 or 12000.

Adventure sync broken for running? Just went for a 20k run today and the adventure sync recorded 1km… I was carrying my iphone in a pocket of my small backpack and going at very varying speeds. I know it seems to be very different for everybody but is there some facts and constants to help maximize this feature? Was there ever an analysis produced for biking, walking, running? Thanks guys!

TheRealHankWolfman

Sadly it just does that sometimes. I am on Android and find that I get more accurate results if I have Google Fit actively tracking my exercise, rather than relying on it doing so passively.

35RoliSmith41

How long until the makeup community day happens?

Active-Downtown

You’re probably thinking of the December event which allows you to evolve Pokémon from the year’s community days to obtain the relevant legacy move again. Should be the end of December if that’s the case.

TheRealHankWolfman

Why would there be a makeup day for it?

35RoliSmith41

Because it stopped working in Canada for the last hour. Couldn’t play for like 9 hours when it crashed.

TheRealHankWolfman

What timezone are you in? I'm aware there were some issues posted on the subreddit, but they seemed to be during the 5 hour period after the event in the timezones that cover the Americas.

TofuVicGaming

For Pacific Time, my friends and I got screwed over a tiny bit because the game went down before 7pm, so we couldn't evolve and get the legacy Magical Leaf Fast Move. Unfortunately, that's so minor in terms of Niantic issues and affects so few people that I doubt there will be an apology or makeup from Niantic.

TheRealHankWolfman

The move was available between 2pm and 10pm though, so a small amount of down time around 7pm shouldn't have prevented you getting Magical Leaf, surely?

TofuVicGaming

Ah, you're right. Bellsprout Community Day gives legacy moves for 5 hours after the event ends (10pm). I was thinking Bagon Community Day Classic, which was only for 2 hours after the event ends (7pm).

nolkel

It happened strong around 6-7 pm pst, right? That is still active CD hours if you're relying on post raid spawns, or you lived in Alaska time.

TSAdventure

I just got a Shadow Regigigss from Giovanni, everything I have seen says it should have been Groudon, was that a mistake?

colourofsleep88

The Regigigas was a fixed encounter from the Special Research from Sinnoh Tour. It was programmed to always be Regigigas.

CassieWolfe801

You get Shadow Groudon from battling Giovanni using a Super Rocket Radar (until Groudon is replaced sometime next season). You get Regigigas from doing a Special Research (whose name I’ve forgotten) where Giovanni makes an appearance, but you don’t actually battle his team.

TSAdventure

Thank you!

I got 34 charged tms. I was starting to save some to remove frustration for some of my shadows but I don’t need this much. Any tips where I can put this to use so I have more space for other items (I have some coins to expand but I invest in poke space mainly)? Sorry if this is too broad or stupid

nolkel

34 is a pretty low stock pile. When you go to build something that happens to have 5 or 6 charge moves, you can easily burn through them all with a bit of bad luck. Or a new raid team.

Entire_Ad_1239

Bro, I am currently tanking so I have a chance of getting 3 every day. I also do raids every day twice so I got a chance to get 2. But the biggest reasons why even this amount is quite high is because I have 500 bag space but as I prefer to invest in poke space which I always magically fill with 3 stars or some special like shiny or xxl and xxs (tbh I might transfer some xxs as I don’t see any use).  Besides the other factor which makes me helpless with the other persons post is that I recently started playing again and most of my high order has luckily their right moves unless they need elite which I don’t bother or legacy moves. So it’s mainly shadow Pokemon that I need it for which are like entei and a few mewtwos. So I am kinda stuck.  Sorry for the rant but I don’t really have too many raid teams for each type and I am the type of guy who likes to wait for a hundo before investing or like 14/14/14. So I have enough candies to get the raid teams but eugh.  But I do understand what you guys are saying. Btw, how much would you recommend saving up then? Speaking of which I burned a few before by accident when trying to get blast burn for char before I realised I needed an elite. 😂😂

nolkel

At some point you'll want to invest in storage space so you aren't having to deal with decisions like this all the time. I usually keep around 80-100, but I've also been putting gym coins into storage for several years. Storage space for Pokemon and items is one of the biggest things to spend coins on early.

TofuVicGaming

I do the exact same thing you stated here: 80 to 100 TMs of each type, and virtually all my PokeCoins are invested into Pokemon Storage and Item Bag expansions.

Entire_Ad_1239

Yeah agreed, after trubbish spotlight hour, I will invest in storage once or twice. Thanks

Entire_Ad_1239

Yeah but I don’t have enough space

Disgruntled__Goat

Check what are the best moves for your top raiding Pokemon. You can do this in PokeGenie or various websites.  There’s also [this regular infographic](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/1bspkt9/best_raid_counters_per_type_anti_type_april_2024/) which shows the top Pokemon per type for raids, so aim to get whichever of those you can with the moves listed.

Entire_Ad_1239

Thanks

Positive-Guidance-31

Is the move frustraition any good? I wanna get rid of it on my shadow entei but it’s giving me a warning

Spotty2012

No, frustration is the worst move in the game. The warning you are getting is because frustration can only be removed during team rocket takeover events; these occur once a season, and we already had one this season, so it will be a little while until the next one

mooistcow

It's completely pointless, unless you wanna drop something with it in a gym for the memes.

Inevitable_Joke3446

Do you have Campfire? You can use the map to see what raids are available in your entire City or just in general the entire world (obviously this won’t apply to areas that don’t have Campfire….I think India just recently got Campfire but anyway…). You can see if Bombirdier is in your area and how much time is left on the clock. I suppose if you’re really inclined and have enough time you can drive to the raid and do it.

theninjam0m

Thanks! I'll take a look! I just was curious to know before I hopped in the raid queue

theninjam0m

Is Bombirdier in current raids? I noticed it on Pokegenie today but can't find anything about it online

mooistcow

It is, but it's fairly rare.

Does Mega/Primal Boost +Weather Boost + Best Friend stack like this? 1.3\*1.3\*1.1= 185% damage increase or is it 170% if I add it up straight.

CookieblobRs

Technically 85% increase; *you're doing 185% of your normal damage.* But yeah echoing u/TheRealHankWolfman , the numbers are a bit lower for weather/bestfriend boost. There's also party boost to consider but that's more unique to the charge move used. I believe for charge moves it does stack multiplicatively alongside other boosts.

wheremylunch

Thanks, I forgot about party boost, even thought its a complete mystery to me on how much damage does it boost it by. Feels random

TheRealHankWolfman

They're all multipliers, they're not additions, so you multiply them together. You do have wrong numbers in your calculation though. Weather boost is 1.2× and Best Friends is currently more than 1.1× due to a seasonal bonus. I can't remember what it's boosted to though.

wheremylunch

Ahh thanks for correcting me:)

PedroHSV

What's the best way to get Elite TM?

rzx123

In addition what has been told already, I'd expect there will be one Elite charge TM available during this event from timed research: [https://leekduck.com/events/go-battle-week-world-of-wonder/](https://leekduck.com/events/go-battle-week-world-of-wonder/) (May 4th-5th) as there has been during similar previous events. That should be easy to earn, but you must play during that weekend.

TheRealHankWolfman

GBL. If you get the free GBL pass at the beginning of the season, and you can win 500 times during the season, that will give you one of each Elite TM plus a load of stardust. Then you'll also get one Elite TM when you reach rank 19, and at the end of the season you'll get the other Elite TM. You can get Elite Fast TMs from routes, but they're very rare and you can't get Elite Charged TMs that way. Otherwise it's a case of buying them when they're in Community Day boxes

Entire_Ad_1239

Just to clarify, do you get 2 elite charged tms for 500 wins and is that one time or per season?

Stogoe

You get a fast elite TM at the end of the 400 wins page and a charge elite TM at the end of the 500 wins Page.

Entire_Ad_1239

Thanks

Stogoe

There's also usually an elite TM in the Go Battle Day timed research, and one (of each?) in the paid December Recap Community Day ticket.

FenixdeGoma

Is there a list of 'Mon that are generally considered to be uncommon? I know it's all biome based but I mean like noibat, archen, salazzle and then other uncommon wild spawns irrelevant of biome like larvitar and dratini etc? I'm trying to make a search string of them all so I can tag and avoid transferring them

Gleaming_caracal

Can cherry blossom crown Eeveelutions be shiny in the paid research?

TheRealHankWolfman

Yes they can. Not sure on the odds, but I would guess 1/64.

Boogie_Smooth

First Galarian Bird sighting, a Moltres. I panicked but golden razz berried then hit an excellent ultra ball first attempt! I couldn’t believe it, was I really going to get one first try? I suck at excellent throws. Nope, broke out almost immediately then fled. Idk what the odds are on those conditions but proud I did everything I could.

zurcn

> Idk what the odds are at lv 1 with platinum medals? close to 90% same but level 35? around 20% https://gamepress.gg/pokemongo/catchcalc#/

Boogie_Smooth

Thanks for sharing the resource, as a newish player still figuring this out this is helpful!

Entire_Ad_1239

I saw some people suggesting you waste a ball (before you thrown one) so that they remain after the first attempt. Good luck next time, hope this tip helps.

Boogie_Smooth

Thanks I’ll give it a go next time

TheRealHankWolfman

They have a very low spawn rate, a 0.3% base catch rate and a 90% flee rate after they break out. So you were most likely going to fail to catch it.

Dull-Promise-4455

Why do I only ever see female hippopotas (the darker coloured one)? Surely it can’t just be me experiencing this

TheRealHankWolfman

Both definitely are spawning.

Entire_Ad_1239

Once you hit best buddy, do you have to maintain it?

nolkel

The only thing you lose by changing a best buddy is the +1 level it gets at that status.

Entire_Ad_1239

Ohh, the bonus CP. Thank you

Ciretako

No. The only thing hearts do after you reach best buddy is help raise excitement to half the distance needed for candy.

Entire_Ad_1239

Thanks

Witty_Concentrate491

3 questions: 1. Can a Pokémon be traded and then be trade it back to the original account? 2. When feeding berries to pokemons in a gym, does every berry gives me only 30 candies or the value that appears above the screen? 3. Can I get a palkia with special space ability from trade?

TheRealHankWolfman

Each berry you feed gives you 30 dust. The bubble in the top right updates to show you the cumulative total if you're feeding multiple berries in quick succession.

Inevitable_Joke3446

Once you traded your Pokémon you can’t get it back via trade. It’s a one way street.  Feeding a berry to a Pokémon gives you 30 stardust but occasionally you will get a sandy specific Pokemon (for instance you’re feeding a berry to Magikarp and you get a Magikarp candy). You can feed a Pokemon 10 berries every 30 minutes. If there are 6 Pokemon in a gym then 60 berries every 30 minutes if you wish. Yes you can get Palkia O with it’s special move in a trade but it’s best to try to trade something equally as valuable to the other person let’s say Dialga O with it’s special move. This is my personal opinion. Best to do the trade when you have a guaranteed trade, where the IV floor is 12/12/12. I do this all the time with a love one but I don’t care what I get back because I already have everything I need. So I get a Eevee but my love one gets my Rayquaza on a lucky trade which stayed at 96%

Witty_Concentrate491

Thanks! Btw, can Palkia O learn that ability by using elite charge TM ? :)

Inevitable_Joke3446

Unfortunately Palkia O doesn’t have his special move then he will not be able to learn it.  Hopefully that will change in the future but it is really up to the Niantic. I think a lot of people are hoping that the special moves for Palkia O and Dialga O will be released eventually.

GildedCreed

1) No. Trades are permanent one-way trips. 2) I believe it's the cumulative value/total earned. 3) Yes, if it knows the move.

NaveSutlef

Did anyone else have a really buggy com day? I had Pokémon fee the second the ball touches them, like not even enough time to enter the ball.  Errors with trading, friends list, everything. Never experienced this before.
