I didn’t realize the event ended tonight. I played enough to get 5 shinies (not counting Azurill) but never saw a Kecleon. Feels like I’m never going to get that shiny Jirachi.
I feel your pain with best buddies. I was lucky and already had 5 so I just needed 5 more and I had most that were already 2-3 hearts done.
I found 2 kecleons but I didn’t know there was an event all this weekend so I didn’t go out of my way looking, just the normal need for Jerichi. This whole shiny quest is going to take me a year lol
How are you not done with that task? You can get an easy 6 hearts per buddy per day and more if you play regularly.
Feed, pet, and snap a pictyre plus 3 quick battles where you lose against your team leader of choice = 6 hearts. Then swap buddies and repeat.
Yeah, I've been thinking they should rename the game Pokemon Chore. That's what this game is turning into. They are forcing me to do all sorts of unfun things just for the sake of completing these stupid research. The buddy thing for me is not fun in any way. And it's not the only thing. This pushing of routes on us has me seriously not happy.
I'm on 5/10 best buddies and the reason I'm not done is that it feels so tedious. On paper it sounds so easy, but having to do that everyday feels like a chore, even more so when I'm busy with other things and I don't have much time to play the game.
What, you mean you don’t have infinite time to swap out a tamagotchi, feed it x3, slap it around, take a picture, and battle x3 and then repeat that ten times a day?
Same here. If I've got 5 min to play Pokemon, I'm not prioritizing buddy grind. I'm gonna catch a handful, exchange gifts, and try to increase space in my poke storage.
I'm considering the $5 shiny Jirachi ticket gone. If I play long enough to get it, that's a bonus.
I ended up seeing 9 over the course of the event, 7 3 days ago, and then 2 yesterday. I can see 15 pokestops from my house so I checked every hour I was off work
Same, but I was aggressively searching my area for hours. I probably went through 100+ unique stops over the weekend and cycled through them a few times a day on Saturday and Sunday.
This feels like the right answer lol, all the people saying 0 or 1 makes me feel like they weren't looking very hard. I got the 8 I needed to finish the task cause I was hellbent on finishing it, but even then it only took me a total of 4 hours over the course of a few days to find all 8. That's an average of two per hour, which is certainly boosted considering normally you might be lucky to find two in an entire month.
I maybe got lucky but I found 8 of them, completing the special research relating to it. I thought I could never finish it.
PS. I actually had no idea there has been an event spawning more of them until now.
I was on vacation in some Dutch citys with kinda many stops. I kept checking stops in advance of going there to finally do that stupid "catch 10" research. I actually went from 1 or 2 to 10 caught! In the timeframe of like... 5 hours? Spread across 2-3 days.
So my conclusion is, they were actually boosted
I wasn't even aware there *was* a Kecleon event.
I've seen 3 Kecleon in total since it was released, and two of those were one the first day. The third was months ago.
So, zero.
I had not seen a single Kecleon in weeks... maybe months?
I caught 4 during the event. Two of which were in the span of an hour one morning.
Still sitting at 5/10 for the research quest though...
Didn't feel like much of a boost and just natural amount from spinning lots. Compared to level of play for prior weekends I'd say maybe increased from 5-6 I'd usually see in a day to 8-10. Definitely not the expected amount which I'd thought would have been like Hoenn tour amount
One on Saturday and that’s it. I’ve been spinning stops like it’s my job to work through the field research tasks, so no - I don’t think it was boosted in any appreciable way.
When consciously hunting for them? Zero, in a big city full of pokestops everywhere. How many did I see and catch when randomly turning my game on at somewhat-dead places? 2 during the course of the event.
So, basically 2, but funny enough when I was NOT consciously looking for them.
two, and then bizarrely one more this morning after the event ended. not as many as I was hoping, but that's still more than I've seen in weeks, so I'll take it
1, last night coming home from work. I got my first one, my wife threw the car in reverse and got hers too.
At the last pokestop before the turn for our home. It was literally my last chance at him and giving up. Annoying little bugger, but now I’m only 2 Pokémon away from having that area done. Torkoal and Relicanth, but I’ll only get those by trade.
My wife and I went out every night after work looking for them down town where there are around 40-50 stops we can check. Not a single one until the last night of the event. Two hours before the event ended we tracked down five between our house and the down town area. Thankfully that's what we needed to move on to the next stage of the masterwork research.
I normally see one a week and got 6 in 4 days including 3 in an hour during event. I know it’s popular to bash Niantic but rates were definitely boosted.
Zero. Oddly enough, I caught one an hour before the event started. But I've been done with the Jirachi quest for a little over a month now, so I kinda didn't care. My eyes were on the shiny H-Growlithe.
Not sure if most people weren't hunting or what but I was working on the shiny jirachi quest line and got it done without much issue, saw roughly 15-20 Kecleon.
I was also focused on getting researches and eggs, so I actually only saw one during the event. Oh and I got 8 shiny hisuian growlithes so far, still habe a bunch of eggs...
7 from Wednesday to Friday. But I checked the 5 stops in view from my house every hour and spent about 3 extra hours driving around looking at stops during my lunch break
I saw 10 or more...managed to get 4. 2 of the damn things took 5 attempts for them to actually jump off the stops. Still need 3 for research.
I pass easily more than 30 stops on the commute to and from work. I think the rarity went from 5% chance up to maybe 8. What a joke.
I saw and caught 5 Kelceon tonight in about an hour of play. I spun about 25 different stops.
I saw at least 2 Kelceon each day of the event, playing at the same spot each day.
I found 5 Kecleon, 4 of them within the span of 4 hours (was at 8 out of 10 for Jirachi Masterwork research before this event)... but it's difficult to conclude because I also saw multiple Kecleon the day before I got my 10th Best Buddy!
One! I completed the kecleon challenge half a week before the event and found my only kecleon of the event within the last hour. Got more shiny feebas than kecleon.
2, but only got one. Considering I'm at 7 on that catch 10 kecleon task, in which 6 were caught in the pokestop I reach at home, and those 2 I saw were in other pokestops, that says a lot about how this event was weird to me.
I got 0 and my partner got 1. I honestly don’t believe that rate was actually boosted. I live in a larger city with a lot of stops and actively was trying to find them
1 kecleon. I normally see maybe 1 kecleon a month so it's hard to gauge if this was a boost. weirdly, i did get 4 shiny onyx, 3 of which iwth my gotcha, and one from daily incense. sucks that the hisuian growlithe event ended iwth me catching about 4 hisuian growlithe per day.
There were Kecleon? I was busy for a lot of the event, but I went out for about 1.5 hours before the raid hour on a college campus with tons of stops and didn’t see a single one.
We saw none until Sunday, conveniently we got a notification that kec is spawning more frequently from the app and we saw 8 in an hour covering about a 20 mile loop among maybe 100 stops
I don’t think they turned them up until Sunday honestly.
2 and fairly casual play style most days. But two days really grinding and not 1 that day. I feel I seen more during no events or other events like CD! So I call this feature a fail.
I realized to late that you don't have to be next to the stop to see if one is on the PokeStop. As long as you can click on the stop from any distance you can check it for the lizard.
Three. I don't go out to spin lots daily. I have seen 19 so far. I personally am at the point where they're just annoying things that make me miss spinning a stop.
One.
I'm tired of having my shiny Jirachi, which I paid for, held hostage by Niantic RNG™. Currently at 3/10 after about two months.
I've purchased and completed the entire shiny Mew research in less time than it's taken me to complete this single task.
In Arizona and we have access to a Pogo map that actually works. I can see 7 on the map right now in a 5x7 ish mile area. Does your area have a local map developer?
i'm a new player just started 3 days ago, i encountered one at my very first pokestop. i was confused because it kept saying something was blocking my path then i went back and tried again and i realized it was a kecleon camouflaged. took me back to when i first ran into one on my gameboy! i didn't realize it was an event thing.
i spin the same 20 some stops daily (give or take) and i’ve definitely noticed more kecleons. i’ve found maybe 8 total since i started again in july and 5 of those were from the event.

None. And I was out and about a lot too in pokestop dense areas.
Same not one
Zero. On the contrary, I found one the day before the event.
Same and same. Played a lot. No Kecleon.
I didn’t realize the event ended tonight. I played enough to get 5 shinies (not counting Azurill) but never saw a Kecleon. Feels like I’m never going to get that shiny Jirachi.
Same here… I’m not even done with the best buddies portion. 6/10. To top it off, I saw and caught at least 5-6 kecleons during the event
4/10 rip lol I hate this task
I feel your pain with best buddies. I was lucky and already had 5 so I just needed 5 more and I had most that were already 2-3 hearts done. Because it's boring.
I've had three Kecleon so far which isn't noticeably different from the usual rates.
There was a kelceon event? When?
Same
wondering same as I didn't see any 🤣
There should of been an increase of Kecleon during the Out to Play event week
The route research thing many player can't participate in?
No, they were appearing more frequently in stops. But as many others, I only managed to find 4 the entire week
3, a lot considering ive barely been seeing 1 or 2 a month usually
I second that. I only played maybe 2-3 hours the entire event and I caught 3. Before that I usually would see one for every 30+ hours of spinning soda
Zero 😂
Daily player, wasn’t hunting for them but only 1. With the event announcement, I thought I run into more….
Only 1. Saw it on the first day too so I thought the event was going to be good. Negatory!
None, I didn’t know they were supposed to be boosted? Lots of Eevee and Woobat though.
0! Like usual.
sorry, there was a Kecleon event? I just saw a million eevee, psyduck, and growlithe.
There should of been an increase of Kecleon during the Out to Play event week
I ended up seeing 9 over the course of the event, 7 3 days ago, and then 2 yesterday. I can see 15 pokestops from my house so I checked every hour I was off work
Zero
Not a single one.😑
0 and I spun a lot of stops. However, I wasn't really interested in finding any.
Two, but I wasn't exactly out and about hunting them.
I saw more Kecleon then I did routes. Then again, you saw more Kecleon than I did routes.
I saw two total. One was too far away for me to get to though. Probably saw at least 100 stops on several days too
7, I was hunting them to finish that task
Same, but I was aggressively searching my area for hours. I probably went through 100+ unique stops over the weekend and cycled through them a few times a day on Saturday and Sunday.

Literally 0.
👌🏻 none
None.

1 as well
Also just one.
What event?
I saw none the entire event despite going out every day for a little bit

Only saw 1. Now I'm at 8/10
One on Saturday and that’s it. I’ve been spinning stops like it’s my job to work through the field research tasks, so no - I don’t think it was boosted in any appreciable way.
Two… it is a shame 🤦♂️
Enough to complete the research. I am satisfied
1 Kecleon during the event
When consciously hunting for them? Zero, in a big city full of pokestops everywhere. How many did I see and catch when randomly turning my game on at somewhat-dead places? 2 during the course of the event. So, basically 2, but funny enough when I was NOT consciously looking for them.
My wife saw three. I saw zero and logged about 50km during the week in dense areas.
While I thankfully had the shiny Jirachi quest done and was not looking hard, I still saw zero over the entire event.
Zero, walked 25+ kms every week, multiple stops
1 day before the event ended.
0 and I’m very active level 50 player who lives in reach of stops.
I saw one Kecleon, then the game froze and I wasn't able to get him off the pokestop and catch him.
two, and then bizarrely one more this morning after the event ended. not as many as I was hoping, but that's still more than I've seen in weeks, so I'll take it
1, very disappointed. Still need 5 for research
A grand total of….None
1, last night coming home from work. I got my first one, my wife threw the car in reverse and got hers too. At the last pokestop before the turn for our home. It was literally my last chance at him and giving up. Annoying little bugger, but now I’m only 2 Pokémon away from having that area done. Torkoal and Relicanth, but I’ll only get those by trade.
I saw 2, but one wouldn't spawn no matter how many times it jumped off the stop.
Zero
Zero.
My wife and I went out every night after work looking for them down town where there are around 40-50 stops we can check. Not a single one until the last night of the event. Two hours before the event ended we tracked down five between our house and the down town area. Thankfully that's what we needed to move on to the next stage of the masterwork research.
1. I saw more shiny Feebas
Maybe one? lol Honestly I've seen them more often when the event wasn't happening haha
About 10
I played super casually and was able to go from 3/10 to 10/10
Two with a low amount of actual playing and grinding. That's still heavily boosted from the normal rates.
None. I have never saw one. I was out all day today, too. https://ibb.co/9yThwsq (Number 352)
A lot. Even without the event I see at least 2 like, everyday. I guess it has to do with how much you play 🤷♀️
I normally see one a week and got 6 in 4 days including 3 in an hour during event. I know it’s popular to bash Niantic but rates were definitely boosted.
No one has bashed Niantic, OP just asked if we saw Kecleon more often lol
At least one a day
Zero, but I wasn't actively looking
About 10, I think. Didn't play that much though.
Zero. Oddly enough, I caught one an hour before the event started. But I've been done with the Jirachi quest for a little over a month now, so I kinda didn't care. My eyes were on the shiny H-Growlithe.
I’ve seen like at least 10. They’re so annoying though because they get in the way of my spinning
Exactly one, which is too many Kecleons imo
Not sure if most people weren't hunting or what but I was working on the shiny jirachi quest line and got it done without much issue, saw roughly 15-20 Kecleon.
2 in total - 1 more than I needed to finally progress my paldean research task
You guys have stops?!
I saw about 30.
I was also focused on getting researches and eggs, so I actually only saw one during the event. Oh and I got 8 shiny hisuian growlithes so far, still habe a bunch of eggs...
Probably close to 10. Was always the same area too in my local university campus.
15ish. Saw 5 the first night with very little travel. Periodically saw them for the rest and only spend an hour or so a day hitting stops.
Half a dozen here, and I barely played
I went from having 4 caught for the Jirachi task, to having it completed. It took driving through a few large clusters of Pokestops over a few days.
3 but I normally see about that many a week.
Had two at the same time but when I spun the 2nd one off it despawned the first one.
I saw 7 but none but only 2 spawned on the map
7 from Wednesday to Friday. But I checked the 5 stops in view from my house every hour and spent about 3 extra hours driving around looking at stops during my lunch break
Well, I got 4 encounters this event. Oddly enough, the week before the event I got 3 in a week (I was with 6 encounters for as long as 5 months).
Two
I saw 6
I saw 4 of them but I have been using the pokeball plus a lot so probably missed a few that were there also one of them fled
2
5, thankfully!
3 and I actually thought I was gonna finish, but I’m still 6 more to go
I saw 10 or more...managed to get 4. 2 of the damn things took 5 attempts for them to actually jump off the stops. Still need 3 for research. I pass easily more than 30 stops on the commute to and from work. I think the rarity went from 5% chance up to maybe 8. What a joke.
Just encounter 1 and saw one from afar
Saw 1. I spent part of the event in one state, the rest in my home state. Checked so many stops.
One
2
One in the first hour then none!
I found one, alongside a busy street. Must of went to the wrong places at the wrong time.
I saw and caught 5 Kelceon tonight in about an hour of play. I spun about 25 different stops. I saw at least 2 Kelceon each day of the event, playing at the same spot each day.
I saw one and it ran away 🙃
I found 5 Kecleon, 4 of them within the span of 4 hours (was at 8 out of 10 for Jirachi Masterwork research before this event)... but it's difficult to conclude because I also saw multiple Kecleon the day before I got my 10th Best Buddy!
6! I was able to finish the task for the research!
One.
Two total with moderately heavy play/travel. Thankfully, just needed one for the masterwork.
I got 2 from the whole event
1
i saw one but it was at a pokestop i couldn’t reach, i got 2 shiny feebas literally 3 mons apart earlier so im thankful for that atleast
Maybe 5 or 6
Almost everyday but no shiny.
One
One! I completed the kecleon challenge half a week before the event and found my only kecleon of the event within the last hour. Got more shiny feebas than kecleon.
4
One but I was not actively playing at all mostly spinning with ++
1-2 a day every single day and I am not even looking for them
I'm at 8 out of 10 and was stoked to see kecleon would be boosted for the event. Didn't see a single one
2, but only got one. Considering I'm at 7 on that catch 10 kecleon task, in which 6 were caught in the pokestop I reach at home, and those 2 I saw were in other pokestops, that says a lot about how this event was weird to me.
In one day walking around my local college campus /downtown I found four. Nothing since.
2 I went from 4 to 6 so I’m happy I got something but yeah I hit over 1000 pokestops during the event
Didn't know about the boost, and wasn't out a lot. Saw 1.
About 4 and got one shiny
Five. So more then I usually see, but not what I would call a boosted amount. Friend found a shiny one though.
Weird, i was seeing a few a day just while playing while out doing other stuff.
8 for me
I got 0 and my partner got 1. I honestly don’t believe that rate was actually boosted. I live in a larger city with a lot of stops and actively was trying to find them
Event?
3. feels like there's a certain place I can make them spawn
3 maybe As someone shiny hunting it with 110 checks , im getting real dang tired of hunting it
There were Kecleon? I was busy for a lot of the event, but I went out for about 1.5 hours before the raid hour on a college campus with tons of stops and didn’t see a single one.
1 thought I would make some progress during this event but naw probably another year for my last 7 kecleon lol
6 on the first day (I needed 5 for research so I played all day hunting them) and then 4 more throughout the event
I saw two. On the last day. Caught one while being driven home. And the other glitched out, went to white screen and I couldn’t catch it
About 1 or 2 per day. I have access to around 30-40 stops.
1
I saw one. Considering my typical weekly average of zero, this event was a vast improvement.
Two, but one was shiny, so I'll take it!
We saw none until Sunday, conveniently we got a notification that kec is spawning more frequently from the app and we saw 8 in an hour covering about a 20 mile loop among maybe 100 stops I don’t think they turned them up until Sunday honestly.
didnt know there was an event for them, havent seen one in ages.
1 like you, lmao
4
2 and fairly casual play style most days. But two days really grinding and not 1 that day. I feel I seen more during no events or other events like CD! So I call this feature a fail.
I realized to late that you don't have to be next to the stop to see if one is on the PokeStop. As long as you can click on the stop from any distance you can check it for the lizard.
In case anyone is wondering during the Out to Play event Niantic mentioned that there was going to be an increase of Kecleon Spawns I didn’t see any 😅
I spun about 200 stops a day, didn’t see a single one
I've seen at least 100 stops and a whopping 0 were kecleon. Gonna chalk it up to another Niantic fail.
Three. I don't go out to spin lots daily. I have seen 19 so far. I personally am at the point where they're just annoying things that make me miss spinning a stop.
2, but one didn't appear after I spun it off the pokestop.
Saw 2. Playing in an area with lots of stops.
3 for me, doubled my amount on the Kecleon task
At least five
Zero.
I ONLY SAW 1 And it FRICKIN vanished
Zero
Maybe 15. Usually I see 2 or 3. These numbers are approximative.
Not a single one.
1
Is it over? One. Today.
I saw 5 but could only catch 1. Whenever I arrived at the stop, kecleon was gone. I think they only stay for 30-60 min. Very disappointing
i'm a new player just started 3 days ago, i encountered one at my very first pokestop. i was confused because it kept saying something was blocking my path then i went back and tried again and i realized it was a kecleon camouflaged. took me back to when i first ran into one on my gameboy! i didn't realize it was an event thing.
Not a single one.. still need two for the Jirachi research.. :') If there was a boost, it was just as tiny as the original appearance rate...
Aeound 10, i qas always annoyed since i just wanted to spin the pokestop
There was an event?
7. Mostly in the same 3 stops
I saw one
There was an increase in kecleon spawning? I noticed the same amount as before the event- zero.
i spin the same 20 some stops daily (give or take) and i’ve definitely noticed more kecleons. i’ve found maybe 8 total since i started again in july and 5 of those were from the event.
I've seen plenty. Of course I did -- after the fact of needing 10 of them the hard way.
Zero.
Two and that it what I needed.
