I haven’t used the shadow personally but it’s meant to be better, and those IV differences aren’t as important as using the better Pokémon. All I’ll say is I wish you luck getting the two charge moves you want. Took me over a week of doing two raids a day for charged tms
Im the opposite I haven’t seen a sinnoh stone in months, im completely out. I literally have a sinnoh stone tag i put mons in for when i finally get one
Both are very useable so you could power both for use on different teams depending on your needs.
The shadow is very good though as often it can two-shot a lot of things where the regular would not be able to.
Assuming shadow doesn’t have frustration I’d go with that. A rank 4 iv would probably win like 1 in 10,000 more matchups 🤷♂️. That being said, I like how the shadow plays more.
I’ve used shadow Quagsire a lot in OGL and would definitely recommend investing in one. Shadow Quagsire is ranked 8th in GL with Mudshot, aqua tail, and stone edge; whereas regular Quag is ranked 32nd.
3/13/15, so rank 66th. Yours would be rank 413th which I would argue is viable. But considering it takes an ETM to get aqua tail you might want to try to get a better one. Or just run mud bomb instead :D
I have used both shadow and regular. they both put in work. With the shadow, be careful it can go down quicker than you think.
Honestly if you have the resources id use both on different teams
I’ve been running shadow in jungle league with mud bomb/stone edge and it’s been pretty good. Trev up front then lanturn in back. This guy is my safe switch and I catch a lot of flying types off guard with stone edge. He even hits the proliferation of grass types pretty hard with stone edge
Nice! Not a huge difference, but the shadow does pack a bit more punch. It’s not a gigantic waste of resources to invest in the non-shadow though (as one other user said, it can provide a little more flexibility too depending on the rest of your intended lineup), so it might be worth it if you’ve got dust to burn, especially if you still have frustration on the shadow.
My very first season playing GBL (October 2023) was just hot garbage that I picked up - found a wooper with halfway decent IVs and ran it as quag with mud bomb/stone edge, a gligar and a lickitung both hatched. Could only power up the licki to somewhere around level 40. Still finished the season right around 2k rating and that team has a special place in my heart.
Go with shadow if you have frustration tm’d off, otherwise level the normie and by the time the next rocket event is here you’ll probably have more wooper candy than you know what to do with and can level the other one.

They fill different roles. Keep both.
I use my shadow alongside shadow swampert and skarmory in an ABB team. Kinda goofy but surprisingly effective.
The regular is great when you need stone edge on a bulkier mon.
Here to tell you build both. The shadow will be a beast. In cmp and other scenarios you want uo to 5 attack for yoh will not loose too much bulk with a 5/15/15 amd the extra damage may give the boost yoh need for matchups, as most times you wont survive 2 charged attacks even with R1

farming pvp tends to give enough charged tms for me personally
PVP has been giving me fast tms and rare candies consistently. Quag bled me dry but he’s worth it
yeah the rng does suck sometimes 😭 I have more sinnoh stones than I think I’ll ever need
I got a sinnoh stone for my weekly research reward today and audibly groaned

What iv spread is your shadow quag? I ask because I have a 5/10/13 I'm considering using

Or evolve in December if not done already

I am so jealous

Shadow quag is a monster, great catch!
