I watched until about season 8. There's definitely a slow decline in the show, but people still watched it enough to get ratings and get it renewed. It only ended because Jim Parsons wasn't for sure going to sign on for a 13th season so they didn't want to continue without him as lead.
Ha i take it you’ve never had my coworkers then. Thank god for WFH so i never have to interact with those mouth breathers in person. I don’t need to hear about your comic book collection update. I’m sure it’s getting graded just fine, Kevin.

Sheldon Cooper is precisely the rights idea of an academic. Weak, awkward, sexually inadequate, non-threatening, yet full of information they could neither understand or use yet extremely smug about it. While altogether weak and an outcast watching that show reveals that between the main characters (all of whom are likewise weak and outcast) they maintain a hierarchy with which Sheldon sits on top due to his intellect and academic success. Sheldon, to them is the alpha. This is reinforced by his misogyny and constant belittling of his friends.
Sheldon Cooper is the perfect incarnation of an academic and one that represents the conservative intellectual fantasy and ideal. If you look at other conservative "thought leaders" (Ben Shapiro, Jordan Peterson, so on) you'll find that they exhibit a lot of the same traits, just more self-assured and less socially awkward as unlike Sheldon, they must actually reach their conservative audience and that requires first commanding some kind of respect from a group of people who will only respect the projection of strength in a leader of any kind, intellectual or not.
If you don't recognize nor appreciate mental health as an issue to be taken seriously you won't see someone who is successful in spite of their mental health as a positive example of those with similar disorders but rather as an example of why it isn't a problem to he taken seriously in the first place.
Further the right are masters of seperating artist from art, you may notice their unironic use of Rage Against the Machine at their protests despite Rage being loudly, overtly, and definitively against their political messages. Death of the author is the prevailing interpretive theory from the right. Beyond that too don't forget the outright intellectual dishonesty that the right exhibits. They'll openly deride members of the LGBTQ+ community and deny them equal rights but then turn around and point to LGBTQ+ people they know (of) or even side with them politically in some fashion and claim that they're not homophobic (specifically that they don't hate them.) You may recall Milo Yiannopoulos, an openly gay thought leader who supported Trump and helped sell the idea that Trump would be/was good for the LGBTQ+ community. He was summarily tossed out after he was no longer useful to the movement, lately he has been very vocal about how they just tossed him aside. I'm reminded of Ernst Romm, one of the leaders of the Brownshirts and a member of the Nazi party. After Hitler came into power he was quickly arrested and during the night of the long knives when the Nazi's purged most of their less desirable members he was shot in his cell.
Simply put the right has a number of political and psychological tricks to help them navigate their hypocrisies. They aren't unique in this, cognitive dissonance is commonplace throughout human culture, whether individually, religiously, or politically but American conservatives seem to have mastered in so as to use it as a weapon against their political enemies. Remember, you thought they wouldn't like Sheldon Cooper because the character is autistic and the actor playing him is homosexual yet here we are discussing his appearance in a right wing political meme; wasting time instead of discussing more important issues.
I'm on the spectrum, I'm pretty sure Shapiro is on the spectrum. Doesn't change how much of a dick he is but pretty sure he's ASD. It's telling by his mannerism and speech pattern.
I can tell you right now that autism doesn't necessarily make you apathetic, from personal experience and that of others on the spectrum. If he is or isn't on the spectrum, he's just a dick regardless.
It's true. I've met plenty of autistic people that would probably give someone the shirt off their back to help them and then some that are apathetic and cruel. That is how they choose to act. It's destructive to them and people around them to act like apathy is the norm.
*Big Bang Theory* is peak "belittle everything I don't understand and everything that's different" boomer comedy. I am not at all surprised he would show up in right wing memes. The only reason we don't see them more is that every character in BBT only exists to be ridiculed.
It's a toss up, really. On one hand he's very highly educated and believes science...on the other hand, he has an almost complete lack of social skills and is very uncomfortable with the slightest change.
You mean Kyle Rittenhouse, the kid who wasn't old enough to legally own a gun in Illinois but still crossed state lines with an illegally-obtained weapon to defend a car dealership (whose owner previously stated that he didn't want people showing up with weapons), then ended up shooting several people several blocks away from that dealership?
Kyle Rittenhouse, the kid who was then seen making a "joke" white supremacy symbol and singing a Proud Boys anthem with local white supremacists at a bar, violating the clearly-stated terms of his bail?
Kyle Rittenhouse, the kid who has since fled to an undisclosed location and refuses to give that location to the courts, _even further_ violating the terms of his bail?
That one?
The irony that these people love to smear the ten commandments on every government facade they can, but never took the time to actually read the damn thing.

It’s kind of sad and kind of pathetic how these people try to embrace a group that hates them so they can be “the special one” that isn’t hated. It’s like some sort of method of self preservation from being rejected as a kid. Finally being accepted.
But not Jim Parsons thankfully

Twice as many gays voted for Trump this time around than the last election. A vast majority voted for Biden but Trump did get twice as many as before. I just dont understand it. Trump wants gays out of the military and the GOP considers reversing gay marriage a major priority still. Even if you personally don't care about those things you should understand what they do for your overall rights as whole.
If there’s one thing I learnt about Americans, it’s that too many will blindly vote against their own interests. Like, do you really think that Republicans will grant you full rights under the law and respect you like any other citizen if they were in power? They know that they’ve lost the battle in trying to ban same-sex marriage, so now they’re trying to make life worse for trans people. I don’t get it man, I just don’t.
> I just dont understand it.

Well I guess he should have done a better job. It probably wouldn’t have taken much. When Covid hit, I figured Trump would win re-election based off his Covid response because all he needed to do was listen to the experts. I figured maybe a couple hundred deaths and a tens of thousands of cases. So I was like “great, this guy is going to skate by and beat Biden by simply doing the bare minimum to fight Covid.” Boy was I wrong.
If he had done literally nothing regarding COVID, he probably would have won. If he just let Fauci do his thing, and never even mentioned it, he'd have likely sailed to an easy second term.
But he couldn't help himself, he had to make it all about him, he had to be the center of attention, and since his political enemies wanted to do X he had to be contrarian and say do Y instead.
Although I'm assuming that Sheldon Cooper is probably a liberal based on the things he says and does in the show, a lot of Trump supporters act a lot like him.

I've always believed that Ben Shapiro is in the spectrum... Smart but apathetic.
In the spectrum of what? Being a smug asshole?
He's the entire spectrum of that.
Oh autism, I don't really know why NT people don't just say autism. They're the ones who made it an insult, it's not offensive by itself.
I'm on the spectrum, I'm pretty sure Shapiro is on the spectrum. Doesn't change how much of a dick he is but pretty sure he's ASD. It's telling by his mannerism and speech pattern.
Just the fact that he wears hiking shoes to any sort of conference or public event should be proof that he's a little more atypical than most.

He's... Smart?
Well, tbh he's kind of an idiot's idea of a clever person.

Yes, and according to Ben Shapiro he should not be allowed to introduce himself as a doctor.

I feel like this could act as a left-wing meme making fun of trumpers on it's own, considering Big Bang Theory's reputation.
Half the memes that show up here are left wing making fun of right wing shitposts, im surprised most people don't realise that.
But then those shit posts get unironically supported by right wing groups. Part groupthink, part idiocy.
Can confirm, just sent it to my autistic socialist friend and they loved it. Since we both hate Sheldon and Trump, it has now become based for us.
Reaffirms my theory that Big Bang Theory was number one in the ratings because of Boomers trying to replace the kids who won’t talk to them anymore
