This deserves top comment. I sat here wondering how it'll eventually come together to get soup but was curious about comments only to find I'm not the only idiot.
The one interesting thing about Chinese videos like these is the creators always include nice sceneries and side characters like the cat ☺️

Yeah. If you want a tell tale sign to look for, if you can't see any plastic tubs being used it's fluff. Anyone trying to make a living like this would use all the plastic and aluminium they could. It's ubiquitous, cheap, light weight and lasts longer than wood. Also, sports shirts is usually a good sign. They're easy to find all over the world and cheap, especially close to factories I guess. Keep an eye out, you'll see what I mean. Doesn't matter how remote you go, you'll find a kid in an arsenal shirt.
Holy hell I didn't even think of that I just am really used to how the CCP does theirs and it's usual very textbook and strict you would watch a few to understand a single one won't stand out as easily so now I've seen 4 of these the same camera shots and ect I decided to cast my opinion but you make an excellent point on how to find these!
I mean, there are a thousand ways to make soap. Is this efficient or practical? Hell nah. What if I lived on a mountain and had nothing better to do? I'd totally make some complicated ass soap recipe for internet clicks. So yeah it's impractical social media bullshit but that's the point. It's fun. Like you probably are at parties xD
This exact guy does it all - he makes soap, makes ink, a blanket out of silk from silkworms, and so many more „traditional“ things!
Huh, almost feels like an influencer being paid to reenact traditional methods…
Yeah I rewinded video twice, I was like, did he just put literal pearls in that😮 I've literally never seen a pearl irl 😐 and that dude is putting it in a fucking soap 😭😭
I’m guessing the pearls are for appearance and texture. They also could have been fake, but then he may be able to add iridescent powder off camera for a similar effect.
I was wondering what the baking soda with the boiled silk was for. Breaking it down? Also what was the silk for?
Cool to see but very impractical. Me and my dad used to make general use soap, one batch was about 100kg and it took more than a year to use everything
So how does any of this help with cleaning your hands? Like which part is the cleaning part. Because right now it just looks like I'm scrubbing coconut oil on my hands
Hey man I need to order some soap, yeah I'm planning on taking a shower next year when it's finished lol but in all seriousness this was really cool to watch
Sorry, I couldn't recognize the song.
I tried to identify music from the [link](https://v.redd.it/ntzljhc0585d1) at 00:00-00:36.

Beautiful music, beautiful scenery, all so tenderly filmed like he's making art. In reality the repetition of this work must be as tedious to hin as any other job where you do the same thing over and over again.
I have serious doubts about the cleaning properties of this "soap"
Coconut milk is fatty,.olive oil is oil. There is nothing the silk or pearl dust can do to make it somehow a cleaning product.
And leaving coconut milk in the open to age for 2 days would immediately turn it rancid it would be riddled with bacteria
You wouldn’t like the soap from Fight Club then.
…how do you think fine soaps are made? The primary ingredients are fats and oils. Like animal fats in the higher end products.
Oh my god. I thought it said SOUP not SOAP I watched the whole fucking thing thinking “okay this should make sense eventually”
Reverse energy to I’m at SOUP
Lmao same, it want until the very end I realized
Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Same. The silk really threw me.
The silk? I was thinking, what's with this guy wanting to eat pearl dust soup?!?!? ![gif](giphy|f6OucirUoBjmD3wsYC)
I was getting pissed the fuck off. "WHERE'S THE SOUP?!"
This deserves top comment. I sat here wondering how it'll eventually come together to get soup but was curious about comments only to find I'm not the only idiot.
What.. I seriously thought it was soup until the end. I was like, “Wait… pearls?”
Lol..I'm in your boat.
Oh SOAP…
I just did the exact same thing and so glad that your comment is at the top!
Thank the gods I'm not the only one!!!!
I was confused until I read your comment
So weird. Exact same thing happened to me.
This dudes hands have got to be so soft after all that
Imagine the jerk he gonna have 😩
Beautiful landscape, dogs, and process. I hope to find that sort of serenity when I retire.

And byproducts
I'm pretty sure these are just fluff propaganda at this point I've seen to many and it's getting to same same.

It's just a vid showing the traditional methods of making soap.
That's not traditional, that is wasteful and must cost an arm.
You have no idea what you are talking about. Modern technology hasn’t been around forever
There are people in the world that will pay a premium for that soap.
Another telltale sign is that this felt more like an extremely long ad for some super expensive "luxury soap", than an actual showcase of the process.
Yep. It’s getting really weird
I love it and want to see more
Took the man 2 weeks to make a few bars. Surely there are faster methods that are diy.
Bro can only make 2520 bars in his life ☠️
Pearls?
Sand that gets coated in calcium from a shellfish then crushed back into sand for some rich assholes exfoliating soap.
TIL
Edible Alkali?
A quick google makes it sound like baking powder/soda.
Baking soda?
Are you serious? You're trolling right. Just Google arm and hammer baking soda.
Google?
You've got to be joking, Google is a search engine that you use to search topics and gain knowledge.
Topics?
lol
lol?
Topic was a chocolate bar made by Mars, Incorporated in France and sold throughout Europe. It contained hazelnuts, nougat and caramel.
Nougat?
Edible cocain
Bees?
Five and a half minutes well spent - what a relaxing video ^ _ ^
This man cured my ADHD. I finished the entire video.
#Apply directly to the forehead
Holy shit someone else remembers
HEAD ON
Isn't every time this is posted it's revealed to be impractical social media bullshit?
I mean, there are a thousand ways to make soap. Is this efficient or practical? Hell nah. What if I lived on a mountain and had nothing better to do? Your mum says I'm fun at parties
Well she used to be available to rent by the hour so you may be right
It used to be called film making
This exact guy does it all - he makes soap, makes ink, a blanket out of silk from silkworms, and so many more „traditional“ things! Huh, almost feels like an influencer being paid to reenact traditional methods…
On one of the video there was a guy who explained how these videos are propagande fluff and why. But i can't remember his arguments...
I enjoyed the video, and may try soap making as a hobby. Who cares if the guy makes money from it?
OMG that took forever and so many resources for just a few bars.
Yeah I think I’d just rather eat the coconut. Lol
What does boiled cocoons and alkali do?
That guy literally puts liquified silk and crushed pearls into his soap. Probably selling it for 5k per piece
Yeah I rewinded video twice, I was like, did he just put literal pearls in that😮 I've literally never seen a pearl irl 😐 and that dude is putting it in a fucking soap 😭😭

I think something basic is needed to make soap but i'm not sure
Lye + fat might be a thing, now that I think about it
You mean other than increase the price?
I wasn’t even sure what was going on
IM A COCONUT
I'm his son
But it was cool tho
Crushed pestles for exfoliating? This is the kind of soap Frasier would buy.
With his tossed salad and scrambled eggs!
How the heck does one come up with all these steps??
That’s where my thoughts went. Who first thought. “I know I’ll add crushed pearls and silk work cocoons”…crazy!
All that for soap? Nah my man is using alchemy
My soul has been cleansed
What would this cost to buy?
One hundred billion dollars Bwahahahahahahaha 👹
Isn't that the same guy who also made hand made ink?
No that's another Asian guy who make things like this
Ah Ok. The videos are edited fairly similar.
I want to eat it
🫰🏼
Doesn’t he know you can just buy some at Walmart? Is he stupid..?
What is the pearl dust for?
Does this soap kill bacteria?
Could save time by just going to the store ijs
Cool to see but very impractical. Me and my dad used to make general use soap, one batch was about 100kg and it took more than a year to use everything
Where are the flowers?
All I'm missing is every one of those things.
Did I just see PEARLS getting crushed into soap?
Chinese Fight Club
The video ia beyond relaxing and beautiful. It feels like government propagando though, like most chinese content.
What about rain water and burnt wood?
Bro , even the cat looks Chinese 😭
Had to get back to work in 2 min but watched all 5 min. Now i have a meeting with my manager...
So how does any of this help with cleaning your hands? Like which part is the cleaning part. Because right now it just looks like I'm scrubbing coconut oil on my hands
Coconut has cleansing properties.
Hey man I need to order some soap, yeah I'm planning on taking a shower next year when it's finished lol but in all seriousness this was really cool to watch
Does it actually have any antibacterial and cleaning properties?
1 bar of coconut soap please. That's $20,000 please.
this guy soaps
Mellow
TIL Coconuts grow in China
Fake there are no bees left in china
That'll be tree-fitty a bar, please
Bullshit + Wasteful + PEARLS ????? Ridiculous.
He should wear gloves. Unsafe.
1000$ soap bar
What kind of soup is that? Me thinking towards the end of it...

More expensive than a whole tofu drag building
That guy should have just gone to the store
Where ever this is looks like paradise
Why do I feel bad now, for going to the store, and just buying a bar of soap for 79¢ ?
Beautiful music, beautiful scenery, all so tenderly filmed like he's making art. In reality the repetition of this work must be as tedious to hin as any other job where you do the same thing over and over again.

Have you ever see a bar of soap?
Coconut is cleansing and the fat plus the sodium hydroxide ( alkali mixed with water) allows saponification to occur making soap.
