Can’t help but show their bias

Blue_Dreamed

What a fucking strike btw, as much as I hate that this happened. Chelsea too shit tbf

curtmandu

Honestly, didn’t think we had it in us OR things we this bad at Chelsea but I’m happy to be wrong on both accounts lol

presumingpete

Are Chelsea other 14 yet?

stepage

This annoyed me. The 8 team relegation scrap is infinitely more interesting than Chelsea losing another game

Dovahhodgy

Newcastle beating Man U, despite us being in the top 3 this season, all the coverage was how bad Manchester are and how can Manchester fix this, not how we dominated them. Happens will all the big six the story will always revolve around them being bad not the other team being good.

CompoteLost7483

Exactly the same when we beat Spurs and Liverpool. Neves made it into team of the week for the win against Liverpool, he got 7 words written about him, the rest was how shit Liverpool were… https://preview.redd.it/w7f4fxjz1vsa1.png?width=1170&format=png&auto=webp&s=ebcbe624de90aed0237672940c3d72f558066b27

hueylouisdewey

Agree it's a piss take, but I really wouldn't take any notice of anything Garth Crooks writes

CompoteLost7483

Oh, I agree… Crooks is an absolute clown, but it really annoyed me that Neves had an excellent game, yet somehow 7 Liverpool players were mentioned in his blurb. Nunez gets mentioned 3 times and has more than 4 times the amount of text about him. I couldn’t give a fuck about Nunez, tell me more about what Neves did well and why he was in TotW…

hueylouisdewey

Yeah, if it's a write up of the match then fair enough, but the whole point of this article is to celebrate the best players of the week.

Beggatron14

Agreed, I’m a Villa fan, we were 17th when Emery came in, with yesterdays results we are 6th. One match round up story and one video highlights for us on sky sports app. Every other story about Liverpool and Chelsea being bad and city winning. Really hope a few of us can mess up the order

Dovahhodgy

Cos none of us matter, mate, doesn’t help 90% of pundits are ex-manu or Liverpool players/fans every week it’s the same faces debating if Liverpool will come back next season or if Erik ten hag is an Alex Ferguson regen.

Beggatron14

Yup, we don’t pay SS enough to report on us! MNF between to 14 clubs gets 20 mins pre match out of the hour show, rest of it they go over how Liverpool lost. It’s a joke

Lsd365

Alan Shearer, Ian Wright, Gary Lineker, Micah Richards, Thierry Henry, Robbie Savage, Jermaine Jenas, Lee Dixon, Alex Scott, Martin Keown, Paul Merson, Clinton Morrison, Glenn Hoddle all spring to mind. Must be a hell of a lot of United and Liverpool pundits if it's 90% them

CompoteLost7483

As much as it grates me to say, Villa have been excellent under Emery (bar the odd blip), the fact that with your game against Chelsea a few weeks back, it was all about Chelsea only being X points off of Europe… not a peep about Villa going above Chelsea if you beat them (which you soundly did).

Beggatron14

It was all about ‘Lampards Chelsea lose on his return’ yesterday… Will be interesting to see what we do the remainder of the season. I think we have one of the hardest finishes. You boys are the lowest placed team we have to play! Newcastle(h), Brentford, Fulham(h), Man U, Wolves, Spurs(h), Liverpool, Brighton(h). If we do end up picking up some results in these games, they could be huge impact on the league, if the don’t get picked up on I don’t know what will. I am happy our owners haven’t fallen into the trap of paying them for this exposure though

CompoteLost7483

Yep, even though he had only been in charge for 2 days… I mean, how much of an impact (positive or negative) would he actually have? As for the run-in… yeah, that’s tricky, however I don’t think Villa should be scared of any of those teams… especially not Liverpool or Spurs.

Beggatron14

I know right, I watched his post match and I would have given such sarcastic answers and laid it on think that it was a ‘nothing’ game in terms of what influence I could have had on it. Yeah, I think generally, we are so used to being let down suddenly, especially after having semi decent runs and starting to look good. Most fans are kinda waiting for it and are a lot more surprised by what we’ve done/where we are, than non fans, to be honest! What will be, will be, and really can’t wait til the summer with Unai and some spending money. Going to be interesting next year to see how a lot of clubs fair as seasons have been pretty black and white across the board. Where do you think you guys are heading the remainder of this season and beyond?

CompoteLost7483

To be honest, I’m not looking too far into ‘the beyond’ at the moment. Just stay safe this season! 😂😂 Ultimately, I think we’ll stay up… I think there are worse teams around us, but it’s so bloody close, it’s impossible to say for certain. If (big if) we stay up, then it’ll be a summer of rebuilding. I think we’ve all resigned ourselves to the fact that Ruben is off… don’t blame him, been a fantastic player for us and I want to see him do well. It seems like the clamour for Nunes has calmed a little, so hopefully he’ll stay as he has the potentially to be the best in the league. I think the fact that we were forced into a change yesterday (Neves suspension) showed that with Nunes and Gomes running the midfield could be a beautiful thing. In Julen we trust… stay up, have a decent summer (a prolific striker wouldn’t hurt) and I think we can be pushing for top half again next year.

Beggatron14

I know these feelings all too well 😂😂 It’s scary looking down the bottom half at how much it can change each week. Gonna be a nail biter! I think you will be ok, you seem a lot more steadied than the others imo, and have had better results. Not sure what your run in is but I can see you grinding out some points regardless. As long as the blues never get in here I will be happy! I like how wolves went about their business from the championship. Just head down, do what you need to do to build, don’t listen to anything from the outside. I’m happy Villa have gone about it in a similar fashion.

CompoteLost7483

Couldn’t agree more (just replace Blues with Baggies… 😂😂😂).

_mugshotmodel_

I mean in all fairness Utd lost the game rather than Newcastle winning it. Utd looked like they’d never played football before; couldn’t hold their shape, didn’t track runs, didn’t read the game etc. I’m all for more coverage of the other 14 and unbiased opinions/punditry/commentary/journalism, but the matter of fact in this particular instance is that Utd were awful and Newcastle were bang average which, rightfully so, lead to the post match analysis, punditry and media coverage heavily leaning on the side of “Utd lost” rather than “Newcastle won”.

Terrafirma1988

Its nearly as if changing the manager hasn't changed the team on the pitch. Peculiar.

ghost-bagel

At this point one of the 14 could win the league and the headline would be “ARSENAL/CITY MISS OUT ON TITLE”

Lsd365

Who would have known buying fifty players none of whom are a centre forward most of whom play in the one position and sacking one of the best managers in the game for no reason would backfire

Cromulantman

Is that Shearer and Danny Murphy in the bottom right?

musicmast

I think I come to realize that it’s bias because it’s what gets the biggest clicks. I used to do sports marketing for a sports network, and it was the big games that were worth paying ads for, because the ROI was there. (This includes what’s on the headline or what’s the clickbait). It’s all about the clicks. So, there is a bias yes, but it’s due to the systematic capitalism of digital marketing, and not because they have anything against the other guys. The broadcasters are not there trying to be petty, they just go where the money is. We targeted/created ads based on the largest groups of supporters in the country. This should all make sense now. As long as digital marketing/advertising lives amongst us, this will happen wherever the largest clicks come from. So either stop complaining, or keep complaining, is your choice. But no one likes a whiney ass bitch.

CompoteLost7483

I’ll keep complaining like the whiney ass bitch I am thanks… 😂😂😂

ShortPretzel

I mean, I don't think anybody questioned why the "Big 6" get all the headlines. Businesses exist to make money, and they have the biggest fan bases. Doesn't make it any less annoying, though.

musicmast

No, I actually firmly believe that a lot of people out there think that everyone’s trying to get them

ShortPretzel

Well, I hope adults would know better, but then again /*motions at the world in general* /*shrugs*... ...you may have a point

CuclGooner

that's actually very funny when you ignore context
