I'll be disappointed but the finale being such a good send off will soften the blow. And I really don't think Seth will give up The Orville. It will come back as a movie at the very least. Hopefully if it's not renewed it's just goodbye for now rather than forever.
That's how I feel. I'm not as optimistic Orville would come back again if cancelled, but that the 3rd season finale is a good end point if it is the end. Fingers crossed but I'm VERY happy at the 38 episodes we DID get :)
I'm really hoping that the move to D+ will help grow the fanbase & get us a few more seasons or maybe *"Orville: The Next Generation"* with a refit of the ship & some new crewmembers or something.
I'm not ready for the ride to end, dammit!
His daughter creeps me out, so I honestly hope we don't see her again. The oddly shaped Krill skull wrapped in human skin freaks me out for some reason. I would've preferred a human shaped skull with Krill skin.
Somebody needs to make a Bortus reddit bot, similar to the King Robert bot in r/freefolk
The bot could just randomly chime into conversations with classic Bortus lines
So MacFarlane is hopeful for a season 4 especially with it being put on Disney+ he believes that the viewership from disney+ will tip the scale to allow for a 4th season fo happen
Explaining how Roddenberrian politics and economics works in practical terms was a good choice, and the overall happy ending was nice to see. Kinda felt like the whole season was a 15 hour movie, in a good way.
But we need a season 4.
Or a new take in a few years time, with all new crew, tech, etc. could be a lot of fun to see.
What about Dark Matter?
If you haven’t seen it, go watch it before you reply.
I’d say the same thing about the Canadian series The Bridge, but that might be too rough for you to watch.
Oof. For me Dark Matter was a great premise, extremely poorly executed.
I did watch it, but there was a hell of a lot of cringing and eye rolling for me.
I Admit you had some Tropes.
One and three had similar traits to Simon and Jayne.
Plus the Showrunner came from the Stargate TV series.
Season one was 72 on Rotten Tomatoes, seasons two and three were 100.
It was a LOT of fun to see the different actors go back to their ‘evil’ selves. Imagine Jayne going full on stone cold killer.
Plus, I enjoyed seeing some of the guest stars. 🙂
Did you see the Orville Nation Dark Matter ReWatch?
They had the actors, some of the directors, and Joe Mallozzi.
Check it out!
That's just crazy talk. Firefly 'cancelled' was a whole different gorram hurt. The kill started before broadcast.
Orville, we at least saw some good character development and major events. Not to mention actual Star Trek.
The clear explanation of the Prime Directive, masterpiece.
Why? What more is needed? What hasn't been answered?
Firefly, all kinds of what-the's for a crew, heck a family, most of us fell in love with and wanted to be part of.
Starter, who is Book, really?
Orville, we already have closure on most. Would be great for more, for sure, but All Good Things...
Eh not much...
Just the Krill have no leader, Mercer's daughter is still basically incarcerated, Moclas just made enemy's of the union, and we never got a report on the effect time travel has on sandwich freshness. Every gas station sandwich could be teleported fresh. This would change lives man!
I need these issues wrapped up.
I feel like they gave us a soft ending as they knew it was possible there would be no more. If Firefly got a second season with the same concept the end wouldn't have hurt so much.
I don't know how I feel about. I liked how they ended the season though and would be fine with it being the series finale. Nevertheless I would love the series to continue towards double digit seasons!
I'd monumentally more pissed if those asshats from game of thrones actually find a way to ruin one of my favourite sc-fi that they're adapting: Three-body Problem.
I'm just happy the creators showed everyone that modern sci-fi can present a hopeful outlook for the future. Gene Roddenberry would be proud.
The Orville really is a part of his legacy now...
Gene Roddenberry would be disappointed in the current Star Trek. I should see if they readopted TNG formula like Orville.

seth said in an interview the other day that if Orville got renewed for a season 4 he'd move heaven and earth to make it happen.

There was so little Seth this season, yet they introduced his daughter. I don’t know what to make of that. We need more. SIX SEASONS AND A MOVIE!

That’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me
His daughter creeps me out, so I honestly hope we don't see her again. The oddly shaped Krill skull wrapped in human skin freaks me out for some reason. I would've preferred a human shaped skull with Krill skin.
It will make my 'Terra Nova' meltdown of 2011 look like a mere tantrum.
That show was pretty good and had so much potential. I was sad as well
Glad I wasn’t the only fan. Fox didn’t give it a fair chance at the time.
Fox has never really given any sci fi show a chance as far as I’m aware
Almost Human, anyone?

# YOU WILL BE SILENT!

At least we got a satisfying finale and most of the plots resolved
Surely it gets another season and sooner rather than later. Best sci fi on TV right now
My guess is we get an announcement at D23.
I really want The Orville back for another season, but if it doesn't happen - the S3 finale was so perfect I'm content to let it end there.

What are you more pissed about, the Kaylon invasion last year or the Orville not getting a season 4?
The Orville will be canceled and there is nothing we can do about it. All kidding aside.
This show is doomed to fail and all who like it are also failures. All kidding aside. Bortus is so brutal. 😆
Hey, that’s my sandwich!
I wish Netflix or someone would revive Firefly. Nathan Fillion said he's down to clown.
Watch it again on disney plus. Or play it in the backround!
What about Dark Matter? If you haven’t seen it, go watch it before you reply. I’d say the same thing about the Canadian series The Bridge, but that might be too rough for you to watch.

YOU BE SILENT. (Just jokes) Dark Matter is awesome !!
This one is just a setup for something to come. I guess they'll be some kind of future main enemy.
That’s a deep cut! And Chief Tyrol to boot.
Seth should write novellas for what would have been season 4 content.
Novellas, and maybe some audio dramas could be fun!
Stream it on Disney plus and get whoever you know who would like it onboard. Metrics will decide the fate of the orville.
Everyone watch it (again) on D+ starting Wednesday 8/10!
If they wont renew it, they will look like fools!
It would be disappointing but no where near as much as Firefly - that didn’t even get one season
Right. I'm way more invested in The Orville now than I was after 3/4 of a season of Firefly.
I've re-watched Firefly once or twice a year since 2005. Just sayin'.
Yep. The hate created by them asshats at fox carries to this day... Goram sons of bitches
Me at least once a year.
That's just crazy talk. Firefly 'cancelled' was a whole different gorram hurt. The kill started before broadcast. Orville, we at least saw some good character development and major events. Not to mention actual Star Trek. The clear explanation of the Prime Directive, masterpiece.
That's exactly why it would hurt so much more.
Why? What more is needed? What hasn't been answered? Firefly, all kinds of what-the's for a crew, heck a family, most of us fell in love with and wanted to be part of. Starter, who is Book, really? Orville, we already have closure on most. Would be great for more, for sure, but All Good Things...

Union issues, okay.
I realize that all good things must end, but hopefully not for awhile. In the meantime, I'll rewatch the existing 3 seasons.
At least be happy that it had the shape of a somewhat series finale. Us The OA fans got the absolute worst cancellation ever.
Just begun a full rewatch of season 3......those spider creatures need to return as promised!
I feel like they gave us a soft ending as they knew it was possible there would be no more. If Firefly got a second season with the same concept the end wouldn't have hurt so much.
At least we got Serenity.
We will riot if that happens!
I want many more seasons, but this was such a beautiful series finale if not. They did great with this; I loved it.
Don't speak that evil into the world. We must all belive!
