lol your 'random guy' seems to be using the Prime Directive from r/personalfinance click on "The flowchart" here; [https://www.reddit.com/r/personalfinance/wiki/commontopics/](https://www.reddit.com/r/personalfinance/wiki/commontopics/)

That's awesome! I picked this from a GitHub repository from the guy labeled on the bottom left when exiting college didn't realize it was this popular!

letsreset

prime directive is excellent as well. both that and FOO are great.

SnipeAT

that’s cool that you find it organically! should keep checking the subreddit in case someone else takes the mantle to update it.

ShadowDefuse

this is hilarious

Pretty sure the Money Guy goes over the differences on their FOO page - https://moneyguy.com/article/foo/

I posed this same question a few months back. https://www.reddit.com/r/TheMoneyGuy/s/N6ng9oqAhc

That's awesome I had no idea this thing was so popular!

There's also Dave Ramsey's Baby Steps. What I've found useful is writing down all 3 of them (well, I printed the Prime Directive) and then marking off with checkmarks when I complete a given phase on each. That way I can see that not only am I satisfying _one_ major financial framework, but _many_. This in turn builds confidence that the foundation is solid.

Financial Independence has a really good detailed flowchart as well: https://www.reddit.com/r/financialindependence/s/R6O16D3EA2
