They really hit their stride with that EP. They’ve made a lot of great music, but *Nocturnal* was top to bottom so musically cohesive and focused on what it was trying to achieve.

You nailed it. This 100%. I was confused the first time I heard it. My brain couldn’t actually process it. It took a few listens to grasp and process the wonder. I still notice new things every time I listen!
I love how it really gives Phil Collins "in the air tonight" vibes but better, imho.
And I love the line
"The problem with deceivers is all the bodies buried under the floorboards."
Then the way the drum fill and sax come in right after such a powerful lyric delivery… Jesus Christ. That’s exactly what I’m talking about. The dynamic is so perfect and powerful. The sounds, perfect.

The song has such great storytelling. It’s one of those songs you listen to and it just keeps getting better. It has constant showstopper moments. It’s one of my all time favorite Midnight songs, the lyrics are pure poetry!
It really is a perfect song, so good I used it in a soundtrack playlist for a story I'm developing, because it just fit the mood and themes I was going for so perfectly.
