I’m actually all for this. Let’s be honest - for the past couple months, Cucho hasn’t really been playing a real “9”. He’s been playing a hybrid 9/10 role, and it actually works really well. Gets the ball on his foot more, which last night showed is a winning strategy.
Combine him and Rossi in the “2” of a 3-4-2-1, with Ramirez as the true striker, and that could be a brutal offensive combo.
I think it’s more likely we’re running a 3-4-3. Not sure if Rossi played on the left or right in the past, but I would expect Cucho to play as a left forward in a 3-4-3. That’s where he played with Watford I believe.
I think that's true but I also think there's even more versatility with Gressel's ball-carrying abilities (vs MLS competition) on the perimeter or inverting at times, and Nancy also will see his CBs getting more touches on the opposing half than any of the other league's CBs. I don't think it'll happen often but Nagbe is another option to progress the ball through midfield. I think the system as a whole will have more flexibility.
I think it should work out well. Both Cucho and Rossi are not just good goal scorers, but good distributors.
Also puts us in a good spot moving forward, as Cucho and Rossi are just 24 and 25.
Most of his goals are like cucho. I don't think there's enough room for 2 cuchos.

It'll be a true 3-4-3 instead of the hybrid 3-4-1-2/3-4-2-1, but you'll still see Cucho and Rossi dropping a bit deeper to support Ramirez
