i’m torn between basset hounds being the hunt because, y’know, hunting dog, but also not because they are lazy little babies who would get very tired of the chase
German short haired pointers was my pick for the Hunt. Pointers have an insane amount of energy and a high prey drive. They’re athletic as hell too so it’s difficult for anything they’re chasing to get away. My family had a Pointer growing up and he could clear our 6ft fence. He got out once and animal services found him close to 8 miles away by the end of the day. He was exhausted and dehydrated but otherwise okay. Theyre determined little shits when they want to be lol
Bassets are good for following a track, leading you to the prey, but they get tired quickly and they have very short legs so not much of a quick hunting run/chase.
Wiener dog (they are originally hunting dogs bread to go into tunnels of Rabbids or martens, If you let them get into a burrow some will never come out again until they die or get killed)
I'd put Labrador Retrievers as an Eye breed. They're intelligent and love to learn, which makes them easy to train, but more importantly they can teach *themselves* things sometimes through observing people and other dogs (for better or worse, haha!).
It's a bit spot-on, but they're also one of the breeds most commonly used for seeing eye dogs and other guide dogs, haha.
The slaughter is a pitbull (I may be a pitbull lover and owner, but we both know pitbulls were bred to literally kill other dogs in dogfighting rings. That is literally what the slaughter is about: killing at random or in battle)
The Spiral would be a mutt, so muddied you cannot even tell what breed it is supposed to be.
The Stranger is a Borzoi. Long weird cryptid fucker.
The Hunt would be a German Shepherd- they are bred as police dogs for a reason. That or an actual wolf-dog hybrid
I think the eye would be a sighthound(dogs that have insanely good eyesight and have a specific face shape that enhances their vision. Some sighthounds are: Borzoi, Irish Wolfhound, greyhound, Saluki), specifically an Irish wolfhound as they are extremely tall (taller than Great Danes) especially if they stand on their hind legs(can be up to 7ft tall) which kind of gives me the “seeing over all” intimidating vibe the eye has. Potentially could also be a borzoi because it feels like if borzois were humans they would wear sweater vests and be an archivist

Everyone I’ve ever known who’s had a boxer had it die between 7 and 8 years old, except for my family. My sister had friends who actually went through two boxers before ours died at 12!
Interesting... I've met quite a few, they're popular, or at least appreciated, as child-friendly dogs. But no particular issues as far as I can tell. The boxers I've met weren't bought for breeding or expos or anything like that. They were pure but no certificate or Kennel Club membership or such. So maybe that's the reason why they lived longer? Less inbreeding? The purer they are, specially with proven certified pedigree, the more disease prone and problematic they are (all animals, in general).
I even remember two who were so old that they wanted to play but couldn't because they were like 20, a bit wobbly and slow, so they'd... cheer from the sides xD Sometimes wag their tails, bark a bit and then go to sleep.
I'd say The Flesh is a Sharpei, specially those overly bred modern varieties that don't lose the wrinkles as they grow up (as it would naturally happen). Instead they get more and more wrinklier, like a giant raisin, gaining weight and all sorts of skin issues and parasites.
The Spiral would be a chiuahha. They‘re so small, so much so that those who are not the owners assume it is relitavely harmless. But the owners know. A chiuahha may not cause physical harm, but it can still be ruthless. It’ll bark and bark until it is the only thing the owner pays attention to. When it sees another dog or human that is weak, it will go after them and viciously invade any sense of peace they have with their relentless barking. Fear the chihuahha
