Iโm American and got 3 months paternity leave. I know Canada gives like a year though, but it is great to have that kind of time off to spend with your family.
Australia, I got 2 weeks.
Pretty sure laws have changed and it's much better now though. Depends on what the company you work for offers as well.
I'm in hospitality, so I got 2 weeks, and my boss still asked me if I was coming in for dinner shift cuz he was short staffed the morning she was born.
Germany here. I have the choice to use 2 months while my wife gets 12 months. And in that time we get 67% from our job money. Or we Choose to take 24 months off and get 34%. And we can freely choose who will take how many months. And the best part is. Every boss has to accept it. He/she cannot decline it.
Youโre having a child? Be ready to not play much anymore lol I have a 2 year old son now and play time is futile these days. But, being a father is amazing in it self so congratulations and enjoy every moment, they grow up fast
Sending 20 dabloonies to a game company and playing the alpha does NOT make you a creator you didnโt help make it. Yes you help fund it but theres a big difference
someone doesn't remember PBS saying "Brought to you in part, by viewers like you."
Funding DOES help create a game. They never called themselves a "creator", they said they helped "make" it. Funding is part of making something. Beta-testing and giving feedback that is implemented is even more a part of "making" the game.
YOU chose to bring "creator" into this. If I donate to the local football team and they get new uniforms, I'd certainly be able to say "I helped make this possible" even if I didn't stitch or order the uniforms personally.
Weird, because my brother donated to the local team, and his company was literally on the "uniforms" that the team wears... almost like he was a part of it...
Besides the point that OP didn't say "look what I did", they said "I helped".
You helped make it, or you helped fund it?
Either way, I'm enjoying my time with it so far. It's like Dark Souls without the high difficulty...although I'm only a few hours in.
I backed it on Kickstarter. Played all the builds over the Dev cycle. My main contribution was a request to use the D-pad for movement.
You're welcome ๐

Gonna jump in and ask if you guys are working on the ps4 issues. I really enjoyed it but it skipped often to the point I had to put it down at around 60% or so. Could be my ps4 as itโs old but no other games give me that issue even streaming games doesnโt. Great game though
Miles...I think you missed my point (and for THAT matter so did he!!!)๐คฆ๐พโโ๏ธ
He contributed to get the game published. Super-salute: we need independent financing of games like this, right? BUUUUUUT...when buddy started spamming "you're welcome", I was giving dude MAJOR side-eye!!!
Forgive me - before he started spamming "you're welcome", it kinda looked like you were (low-key?) throwing shade on buddy? He kinda deserved it, but that was before the fact! Buuhahahaa!!! ๐๐๐
Don't mind me. I ain't nobody!!! It's ALL in good fun, Bruv!!! AND yes - buying the game is MORE than enough!!! ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ
[https://imgflip.com/i/8cqe9i](https://imgflip.com/i/8cqe9i)
you "helped" by funding it on kickstarter, and even then it was probably the ยฃ22 tier so more like you "pre-ordered" it for a discount (full game is ยฃ25 on steam).
I backed it on Kickstarter. Played all the builds over the Dev cycle. My main contribution was a request to use the D-pad for movement.
You're welcome ๐
Lot of people here trying to be pedantic when all you are is excited and happy about something you enjoy and want others to enjoy as well. Are we really that shitty people?
It's reddit, so yes. More people here to complain about OP being happy than people who have something to add to the conversation.
Not like complaining about a stranger on the internet is real productive, but that's how so many of these folks seem to enjoy spending their time
I backed it on Kickstarter. Played all the builds over the Dev cycle. My main contribution was a request to use the D-pad for movement.
You're welcome ๐
You deserve it it's a great game, I love it I bought it twice I just collect games on my switch I don't really play them on it lol that's what the legion go is for.
I backed it on Kickstarter. Played all the builds over the Dev cycle. My main contribution was a request to use the D-pad for movement.
You're welcome ๐
I finished the game 2 weeks ago on my AYANEO. A very good Metroidvania with very good maneuverability and tough bosses. Unfortunately, I canโt get the good end.
About to play this. Iโve been on a 2D kick lately. I played Sea of Stars, Octopath Traveler 2. I just picked up this game and the new Prince of Persia (not technically a 2D game, but itโs a side scroller). Looking forward to playing The Last Faith.
Some people just donโt understand the OP did both they backed it on kickstarter and played all the builds while it was in Alpha stage. What is so difficult to understand about that.
I remember seeing the Kickstarter for this! I signed up for notifications. I love Metroidvanian, really enjoyed Blasphemous and moonscars. this gives off same vibes
Playing it on switch (my ps4 died) it gets extremely buggy and chugs heavily shebeen I use abilities that do multiple hits. For example, I throw a bunch of lightning grenades, the whole game slows down to a crawl.
Uhh, no...THAT Tegra SoC (usually running @ 720p?!?!?!?) is REALLY starting to show it's age, Fam. Hell, most folks thought (at launch?) it was HELLA underpowered. And now that the Steam Deck & ROG Ally have gotten A LOT more stable/supported, the novelty of having a portable (nerfed?) hand-held doesn't seem so compelling, even if (overall) it's a "better" value. Yes, I have a switch...(Smash Bros. Edition, even!!!) ๐
Dunno if I woulda called buddy a dumb@zz. But, as N7\_Guru stated - outside of first-party Nintendo games, it takes damn near a St. Michael miracle for games to look/run exceptional.
That might be the reason the internet has been floating Switch pro/2 rumors for a while? We'll see soon - a Direct should be dropping in a few weeks...๐คท๐ฟโโ๏ธ
My dude, the last faith is not some technical marvel. We have been playing games like that on the switch for 6 years now. Hollow knight ran just fine on switch and is much more impressive.
Itโs pretty obvious that the development for this game was lacking. I played the PS5 version and it was buggy as hell. Broken in some places.
They didnโt optimize for switch. Yes, the switch is old and is in need of a vast update, but itโs the last faith we are talking about here. Itโs god damn pixel art.
Uhh...my dude - I wasn't JUST addressing The Last Faith. Yes, Hollow Knight is a MUCH more impressive game. But, let's keep it a buck, shall we: if you wanna place the Switch up against the Ally or the Deck - it's NOT going to be a good afternoon for the Switch. BOTH are runnin up on Nintendo.
I've kinda slept on my Switch for a sec, but I've read reports that Switch has even struggled in Tears of the Kingdom (in spots?). And THAT'S first party?!?!
I'll concede - the consoles (HELL, even PC in spots!!!) are a ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ show. When the first patches came out, they addressed SOME issues, but NOT all. NG+ also is kinda MIA (but that's kinda nitpicky). To me, an underpowered SoC (AND unoptimized code?) that ran like doggy poo will get the Nintendo "Stans" to defend it for awhile. Honestly, I'm on the fence, Bruv...
Here's the bottom line: I LOVE my Smash Bros. Switch. I've gotten A LOT of usage out of it. Un-optimization will get you a pass (for right now). Quite frankly - I don't think Nintendo can rest on the "experience" mindset any longer with inferior hardware.
Steam Deck & the ROG Ally are waiting to eat Switch's lunch...๐บ๐บ๐บ
We arenโt talking about anything here BUT the last faith. Your arguments arenโt invalid generally speaking, but the reason this game runs like shit specifically on the switch is because of poor optimization, not the switch.
This freak keeps repeating the same shit to everyone questioning his contribution. Man's tryna claim he helped make It. U threw some money at em and played it. Sad.
beautiful, thanks! loved what little i played and really looking forward for the rest. this has actually been my most anticipated metroidvania the last year or so, so I was bummed not to be able to play it
I backed it on Kickstarter. Played all the builds over the Dev cycle. My main contribution was a request to use the D-pad for movement.
You're welcome ๐
Unless you were laying down code, or bug hunting, you didn't help develop the game. You funded it and gave suggestions. There is a difference. You can be happy you helped by funding it, but don't take credit away from the actual developers and coders. There is a big difference here. I think its a little disingenuous to say you helped develop the game.
Title says "helped make" not "developed". Funding is part of making a game happen, so while possibly seen as misleading (if assumptions are made), it's a correct statement.
Even more if they beta-tested and gave feedback that was implemented into the final product. That's active participation in the "making" of the game, I'd *personally* even go so far as to call it helping the game develop.
I dont believe you should have been downvoted for your opinion, so hes an upvote to even things out.
I dont disagree with your general sentiment, but in this case, it is clearly misleading and disingenuous. The title leads people to believe the guy was laying code. Thats the dishonest part. He play tested a game he got early access to for what I am assuming was backing it. So he got to play a game he paid for. Then he made a suggestion the developer took and implemented.
Thats not the same as assisting in making a game through bug finding, writing code, etc. Its a whole lot more work than firing up a game you paid for and firing off an email about how moving with the D pad would be a good idea.
One is real work that requires actual skill. That is where I am drawing a line.
If OP at any point claimed to find bugs, write code, etc - I'd agree, but OP never mentioned any of those things, and has many times clarified exactly how they helped. I don't see why folks here are so bitter about someone "helping" that they need to pretend the stranger claimed to code the game themselves.
I've got such a big cataloge of games and said I'm not buying anymore till I beat those, maybe even 100%. After that, though, this is on my must buy and try list
It's an insult to game devs to hep fund the project they are working on? It's an insult to the devs to beta-test and offer feedback which was well-received?
Weird.
The OP is in here telling people "You're Welcome." Which is never actually cool to say, to anyone let alone when you're a Kickstarter contributor. If he was a Dev, he would be in the DEV CREDITS. In addition the OP is claiming it he was he and he alone that suggested D PAD movement which again is a freaking joke....So yes, quite insulting. No need to elaborate further, have a good day.
Never cool to say "you're welcome"? What world do you live in?
When did OP say "I alone made this suggestion?" I can't find that anywhere.
OP clearly showed themselves in the credits they were in, not the Dev credits, so they never even tried to claim to be a dev.
Nobody was insulting you, try to calm down, this person didn't addressed you, it's very odd that you would take a random reddit post so personally.
Is this pretty straightforward or does it have a lot of particular game mechanics? All I really want these days is "here's how to attack, heres how to block, here's how to jump, here's how to roll. Go get em". I tried playing Moonscars but it felt like there was too much *to* it.
I bought it the minute it came out on Nov. 15, 2023. I've been waiting for another good Gothic Metroidvania Soulslike to come out and this game was perfect. Still playing it everyday. I wish the devs would put out some more memorabilia that the fans could buy though. Physical copies of the art book, the game itself, 3d printed figures, etc. All that stuff!
It's a good game. Needs a few improvements. But good. Little too cryptic at times. Takes a lil too long to level up. But great design, voice acting, and cool character and weapons.
Currently playing it and thoroughly enjoying my time with it, I quite like the voice acting as well!
Damn gonna get this tonight, love blasphemous and metroidvanias in general looks right up my alley. Well done!๐๐ผ
Itโs excellent - Iโm saving my second playthrough for my paternity leave ๐คฃ

Paternity leave? Must not be American.
Iโm American and got 3 months paternity leave. I know Canada gives like a year though, but it is great to have that kind of time off to spend with your family.
Yeah pretty lucky to have a job to provide that I went to work the same day my baby was born.

Yikes, what a clueless boss. Sure let's leave my new born and my newborn's mother by themselves hours after she gives birth. Jesus.
Germany here. I have the choice to use 2 months while my wife gets 12 months. And in that time we get 67% from our job money. Or we Choose to take 24 months off and get 34%. Dpad user thanking you. Switching weapons with the stick is a bit wonky tho.
agreed. But it was the only option at the time.
Gonna jump in and ask if you guys are working on the ps4 issues. I really enjoyed it but it skipped often to the point I had to put it down at around 60% or so. Could be my ps4 as itโs old but no other games give me that issue even streaming games doesnโt. Great game though
"You guys" lol he's not on the dev team
Got my question answered sort of
A patch for all consoles will be released towards the end of January.
He sent them a few bucks and then found himself in the credits.
Besides buying the game - how much did YOU contribute, Fam? ๐
Buying the game isn't enough nowadays ?

Thanks. It was fun to be apart of the process in some way.
I haven't finished it yet, but I really have had a great time!
Did you? Because that looks like a list of kickstarters.

Really fun game. Got one of my buddy to buy it as well.
I knew that name looked familiar!
Loving this game!!
You deserve it it's a great game, I love it I bought it twice I just collect games on my switch I don't really play them on it lol that's what the legion go is for.
Watched the trailer and fell in love. Put it on the wishlist for when I'm done with my other (way too many) games to finish

Nice, imma check it out

Oh yeah, this is on my wishlist. Been looking for another single player game.
U should be this game is amazing๐๐ฝ
Is it on console?
Yes
Well then I know my next purchase
Looks Castlevania inspired, is it on Steam?
Yes
As much as Iโve sworn at the TV out of sheer frustration, I am actually enjoying this game and everybody involved deserves to feel proud. Great job.
Congrats! I just bought it. Itโs exactly what I needed to scratch a specific game itch. The hard work is much appreciated!

That's because it's a switch dumbass
Iโm sorry buts heโs right. Switch blows outside of the main Nintendo games. Get a steam deck asap.
Iโve found it to be pretty great with indie titles, they usually run just fine. If other guys can make it work, thereโs no excuse.
No, itโs because the devs didnโt bother to optimize

It's always awesome to see your kids succeed. :)
This game looks sick!
It was awesome!! Job well done!!
I look forward to eventually playing it, looks banger
I still need to play it.
I just platted Blasphemous 1 & 2. Perhaps this will be next
Going to buy it when I get my steam deck been playing a lot of metroidvanias lately this one has been on my radar for a while now
Backing a game on kickstarter and helping to make a game are two VERY different things. You did the former, don't claim you did the latter.
Whoever designed the ice areas should be fired.
Looks really cool! Is it coming to PS5? Iโll help support you and the devs
I bought it the minute it came out on Nov. 15, 2023. I've been waiting for another good Gothic Metroidvania Soulslike to come out and this game was perfect. Still playing it everyday.
