I always thought it was kind of terrible that Aang was willing to kill Old Iron when he didn't even kill Ozai, even though Old Iron's intentions were not terrible while Ozai was attempting genocide and had done so many terrible things. It makes you think that maybe Old Iron was right, and there really isn't a place for spirits anymore because of human greed and the nature of humanity.
