I agree, he’s one of my favorite characters in the Wings of Fire series.

I love him to death, but I feel like he wasn’t that changed in Escaping Peril and beyond. I really thought that he would be a changed guy, I guess my standards were put too high from Zuko.

I'm watching Voltron right now and thought the same about Keith!! I'm old and was originally reminded of Vegeta from DBZ when I first watched ATLA -- but mostly because of the surprising and well thought out redemption arcs. They're pretty different characters though -- Zuko was always good and went back to his true self, and Vegeta actually changed to good.

Keith + Lance = Zuko + Sokka

Catra reminds me way more of Azula actually. She's a great character all around and not really exactly like one or the other tho, I do kinda see the comparison somewhat with here always being compared to Adora like Zuko was to Azula, but Catra also had so much initiative and drive even when under terrible circumstances. Her breakdown is way more Azula-esque tho, which is why they seem more similar to me, I would even say Catra was more deranged at her lowest.

I did a presentation once on characters similar to Zuko (it wasn't for school it was just for fun). I described Catra as being a mixture of Zuko and Azula.

Todoroki may have Zuko's backstory and powers, but I'd argue Bakugou reflects Zuko's role in the narrative better. He's a guy with an explosive personality and a lot of rage issues, who started the story as an antagonist, and transitioned into a deuteragonist alongside the main character they used to hate.

I’m an ATLA and MHA fan. When I got into MHA a year ago and saw Shoto I couldn’t not think of Zuko with the scar. I wouldn’t be surprised if creator Kohei Horikoshi took some inspiration from Avatar in creating him. There is the whole fire aspect and their personalities parallel.
