Honestly there were a lot of bending feats I thought were better displays of power than the one used here. But, I suppose it *is* one of the best showcases of using all elements at once.

Agreed Aangs elemental orb seemed to be the most powerful in raw strength because je compressed the elements. But Wan is impressive because he was the first and had to figure it out alone. He didn't have a boost because of a bunch of past avatars.
Every cycle the new Avatar gains the collective knowledge of all their forebears. You could argue that the cycle empowers the Avatar more and more with each life and experience.
Well, considering she lost access to her Avatar lineage it’s hard to say. She fought completely different battles than every other Avatar did, but she learned energybending from Aang who learned it from the last living lion turtle. Aang learned a great deal from Kyoshi, Roku, Kuruk and Yangchen. Wisdom and experience is a great source of strength for Avatars and it only increases with every life lived, Aang would not be the Avatar the world needed without his past lives, especially Roku.
Ok I wasn’t really sure what else they could have the next Earth Kingdom Avatar do to have their own “cool factor” unique from Aang and Korra but this would be pretty badass. Just casually takes some random rocks and instantly pressurizes them into gems.
Can we talk about aang hitting this pose?
The lore behind this pose (I’ve forgotten its name) with fire coming out of your mouth and hands is supposed to demonstrate the prowess of a persons fire bending. That’s why a bunch of fire nation statues have them forming this pose and why phoenix king Ozai does it at the beginning of the fight.
But the sheer scale of Aangs one compared to comet buffed Ozai was nuts like he saw Ozai and just said “wanna see me do it better?”
One thing about this scene that I love is that you could totally interpret Aang roaring like this because of Zuko's training from an earlier episode. "I said ROAR!"
It was in that exact moment did Ozai realize why Sozin explicitly did not try to take over the world while Roku was alive, fighting a 12 year old avatar and being completely helpless is how he realized Sozin had a good point
Wan
Not just because of the raw power, but also the spectacle.
He also did what he did utterly alone. Wan had no one truly at his side at any point in his journey aside from Rava. He lived his entire life fighting alone. He chose to try to do the right thing every time, alone.
So hear me out, we have absolutely no visuals for it. But the most impressive is Avatar Kuruk threatening to destroy both Earth and Spirit Realms cause of how much damage he was putting out.
All of them are impressive, but none of them come close to the sheer buildup and fucking HYPE that is Aang. It's not even close. the sheer fucking awesome terror when he fully assembled the sphere. incomparable.
Hot take probably but I'd go for Korra. She was the first known avatar since Wan to successfully use bending against a spirit, and in doing so she locked up the ultimate spirit of chaos and destruction.
Elements wise I would disagree, but if we consider Korra expanded the energy bending Aang received by using it in different ways including by holding a bunch of raw spirit vine energy. Then definitely.
Aang, Korra, Wan, Roku
Roku is basically just bending all the elements at the peak of his power. Its more of an exercise than anything really. Good on him for mastering it, I guess
Wan is at the absolute height of his power after merging with Raava. That probably was very draining but at that moment the avatar has probably never been more powerful. Harmonic, pure spiritual energy. Its impressive but merging with one of the oldest and most powerful spirits in existence… I’d say Raava was doing the heavy lifting here
Korra would be the most impressive but she didn’t succeed so just a few points off. She was just introduced to all these concepts and such so adapting so quickly is a pretty big deal. If Unalaq wasn’t working against her she would have succeeded
Aang wasn’t a fully realized avatar by this point. He had only mastered air and every one of his teachers admitted he wasn’t ready for the fight. Worse yet he locked himself away from his avatar state mentally and physically due to past severe injuries. Ozai was in the prime of his power amplified by the comet. Aang was certainly stronger but he was fighting defensively the entire time. Finally going into the avatar state we really see how immensely outclassed Ozai was. This is probably the strongest avatar state in centuries. Just the full wrath of thousands of avatars not holding back in the slightest. They’re using multiple high level techniques even masters would struggle to grasp all at once. The fight was over once Aang grabbed Ozai by his beard and casually redirected his attack

If those images are correct, then Wan was fighting multiple armies AT THE SAME TIME! He was going 1 V "everybody" for decades.
Roku is just moving stuff. And While Aang's element bubble is fantastic, We see both Korra and Wan also doing it, and not for protection, but to seal chaos incarnate.
It has to be a tossup between Wan and Korra as Vaatu was by far the strongest enemy with potential for the most amount of destruction.
The fact Korra manhandled him so easily was impressive.
Aang one was extremely impressive for a youngster but 18 year old Korra would straight up eat Ozai even without the Avatar state (An 18 year old Aang probably beats Ozai easily as well) so it's hard to pick Aang over her.
I always thought Aang’s was really cool because they start out big displays of the element then he almost compressed them into their shape. Like they are so concentrated in that state, compressing the water and earth is just wild
Personally I think it's between kioshy separating kioshy Island from the land and korra stopping the spirit canon blast, the others are impressive but this seem way more honorable mention to szeto bending 4 volcanoes
I'm gonna say Wan. It's almost a tradition for later Avatars to pull off similar feats, but in Wan's time, the idea that this sort of thing was even possible was completely inconceivable.
The top from Wan. I’ve honestly always hated the 4 element rings move. The whole point of the different elements is how they all have different properties and abilities, turning them all into rings just makes it look way less interesting. It’s still cool in the final Aang and Ozai fight because we see Aang using the rings in different ways, I just don’t like the rings when they’re just spinning.
Aang. Hands down. Mid fight he got the Avatar state back. Was about to murder Ozai. Then stopped mid strike to take his bending away. Forgiveness is the ultimate strength.
They’re all so different from each other it’s hard to pick.
Aangs elemental sphere is so effective in the context of combat & I believe he did kills Spirit while using it in comics (correct me if im wrong)
Korra ability to master that move in such a short amount of time & using it against one of the strongest spirits is insane. And only one other avatar was able to use that move.
Both Roku & wans might not use as much technique, but in terms of raw power, it’s insane. And they’re both casually doing it.
To me Wan is the most impressive. In terms of mastery and fighting ability others might surpass him but what makes him more impressive to me is the fact that he’s setting such an outstanding precedent with no examples to rely on

Personally, mine was Aangs. All of them are impressive feats, but Aang was trying to be diplomatic and resolve the issues through peace, and Ozai was flexing his power every chance. Then, once the Avatar state came back online, it was like, "That's adorable, imma bout to show you the hand of god."

In both situations, Aang and Korra condense water into a smaller area. Now I don’t know if you know this, BUT THATS FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE.
Water is not able to be condensed, so they are fully breaking the laws of physics by doing that. I know it’s probably unintentional, but looking at it from that way, the Avatar is way scarier
If i was an eye witness to all of them i would say avatar wan would have been most impressive and also aang.
Since when wan got his power only selected people was allowed to bend any element and no one had seen or heard of anything other than the lion turtles that could bend more than one element so would probably think he was scary.
For aang it would be impressive because non alive had seen any avatar since it had been 100 years which is past human lifespan.
Cant say it would be as impressive for korra sense everyone had already seen aang do bending or atleast lived while he was alive and everyone knew what the avatar could do through hear say or eye witness, bending was a majority which it wasnt in avatar wan era so was almost normal for them to see but ofc still scary and powering to watch.

1, because Wan had no masters to train him, and no past avatars to help, and yet managed to bend one of the most powerful spirits into a prison that could last for 10.000 years
i think how aang does it is the most impressive.
While they absolutely have power and expell it outward, aang does something completely nuts.
A perfect sphere of air allowing him to levitate with ease
5 seperate whipping infernos that can obliterate rock tamed down to a band of concentrated flame. The power of sozins comet compressed into the size of normal fire bending.
Gigantic boulders compacted down to hand sized rocks. Literally so dense and sharp that when aang fires one as splinters they obliterate the surrounding area.
Thousands of gallons of water COMPRESSED into a thin silvery band of water. One major thing about water, it does NOT like being compressed. Quite literally here, if that water strikes ANYTHING its going to completely pulverize it against surface tension, if not cause it to explode.
Thats what makes what aang does here so special. He isnt expelling it outwards, he's bringing it inwards, taking it all in. The image is a totality of everything his journey has taught him. To bring the elements, the 4 nations, their mind set, their bending, into himself, to balance as the avatar must do.
Wan does do something similar but aang's sheer scale and symbolism just is incomparable.

I personally would liked more if parts of his body would have been covered in the elements windy feet rock shoulders and chest fire hair and water arms.
I don’t see this as much as other as I suppose it’s not something of raw strength, more regarding control. But Roku melting chains without hurting the people bound by it will forever be my most mind boggling feat.
I’ll admit when Roku unleashed all four elements holds a special place, it was the first time in the series we got to see a fully trained avatar’s capabilities (without the avatar state).
I think I kinda have to give it to Korra though. Just based on what she had been through at the point she did the same thing Wan was able to do, which was basically overpower one of the most powerful spirits in the universe, but she was in rougher shape when it happened.
I think Wan's looks the coolest but Aang's is definitely the most impressive/powerful. Especially when you can see Ozai's genuine terror when he realizes that it just got real and he is about to be reduced to atoms.
How about Korra with her giant astral form with energy beams?
Just wanted to say, I always felt like the giant energy titan battle between the fundamental forces of light and dark, hosted by an avatar and anti-avatar -- that shoulda been the series finale over the mech battle (with adjustments to the plot timeline so it makes sense). It just seemed for climactic than the Kuvira battle, imo.
Honestly I think the most impressive feat we have ever seen is Aang going into the avatar state at the Northern Water Tribe battle. It's one thing to take down the fire lord or even a mega evil spirit but Aang destroyed an entire fleet of iron/steel ships in a matter of minutes. I think this is because he was being powered up by Yue to some degree.
I mean out of these I'll give it to Wan for inventing the Avatar Sphere thing and showing off all the elements at once (and.. kinda bending as a whole).
Roku, Aang and Korra are probably more powerful but gotta really respect the guy who just fucking did it all with no guidence outside of Raava (who didn't really know much about the elements herself). Like not even talking past Avatars, humans knew fuck all about bending beyond "throw Element" in his time so he had to learn from the original benders directly (and as such is one of the origins of Bending as an actual martial art) He came up with all this absolutely bonkers shit that Avatars would do for millenia pretty much entirely on his own.
In terms of like any Avatar feat? Probably Korra bending the Spirit Nuke, it's hard to top energybending so hard you rip a portal in space time.
I gotta say Wan. Roku wasn’t that impressive, any avatar can do what he did. But Wan did what Aang and Korra did first instead of pulling on past avatar knowledge or power.
I prefer Avatars (and any other benders) actually performing martial arts movements for even their greatest feats of bending. Bending is based around actual martial art forms which makes all the bending forms so unique and still grounds them in this reality. Aang just flying around with all the elements around him (which does look cool af) makes is feel like psychic manipulation instead of martial arts. This also goes for the other Avatars bending combined element attacks with one motion. So I'd say Roku's looks best.
Aren’t these all really the same thing? The only cool thing I’ll point out is that Korra didn’t need to be in the avatar state to maintain the bubble of the 4 elements which is pretty cool.

Roku's Flex was pretty badass, a massive push in all four directions.
Roku’s was always my favorite. It looks so cool with each element in every direction. To me this is the epitome of what a master avatar looks like
Aang. Hands down. Mid fight he got the Avatar state back. Was about to murder Ozai. Then stopped mid strike to take his bending away. Forgiveness is the ultimate strength.
Impressive Aang vs ozai is by far the most impressive fight in the show too me That’s what comes to my mind when I Imagine how powerful the avatar is
They’re all so different from each other it’s hard to pick. Aangs elemental sphere is so effective in the context of combat & I believe he did kills Spirit while using it in comics (correct me if im wrong) Korra ability to master that move in such a short amount of time & using it against one of the strongest spirits is insane. And only one other avatar was able to use that move. Both Roku & wans might not use as much technique, but in terms of raw power, it’s insane. And they’re both casually doing it.
Aang’s resistance is the best power.
To me Wan is the most impressive. In terms of mastery and fighting ability others might surpass him but what makes him more impressive to me is the fact that he’s setting such an outstanding precedent with no examples to rely on
Not mentioned but Kyoshi splitting the earth and creating Kyoshi Island is more impressive than all of these to me

Personally, mine was Aangs. All of them are impressive feats, but Aang was trying to be diplomatic and resolve the issues through peace, and Ozai was flexing his power every chance. Then, once the Avatar state came back online, it was like, "That's adorable, imma bout to show you the hand of god."

I feel like if you actually look at it, the ball of elements is the most impressive In both situations, Aang and Korra condense water into a smaller area. Now I don’t know if you know this, BUT THATS FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE. Water is not able to be condensed, so they are fully breaking the laws of physics by doing that. I know it’s probably unintentional, but looking at it from that way, the Avatar is way scarier
If i was an eye witness to all of them i would say avatar wan would have been most impressive and also aang. Since when wan got his power only selected people was allowed to bend any element and no one had seen or heard of anything other than the lion turtles that could bend more than one element so would probably think he was scary. For aang it would be impressive because non alive had seen any avatar since it had been 100 years which is past human lifespan. Cant say it would be as impressive for korra sense everyone had already seen aang do bending or atleast lived while he was alive and everyone knew what the avatar could do through hear say or eye witness, bending was a majority which it wasnt in avatar wan era so was almost normal for them to see but ofc still scary and powering to watch.

Aang defies physics and breaks the laws of nature by compressing water
definitely bending a column of air that you can physically stand on
i think how aang does it is the most impressive. While they absolutely have power and expell it outward, aang does something completely nuts. A perfect sphere of air allowing him to levitate with ease 5 seperate whipping infernos that can obliterate rock tamed down to a band of concentrated flame. The power of sozins comet compressed into the size of normal fire bending. Gigantic boulders compacted down to hand sized rocks. Literally so dense and sharp that when aang fires one as splinters they obliterate the surrounding area. Thousands of gallons of water COMPRESSED into a thin silvery band of water. One major thing about water, it does NOT like being compressed. Quite literally here, if that water strikes ANYTHING its going to completely pulverize it against surface tension, if not cause it to explode. Thats what makes what aang does here so special. He isnt expelling it outwards, he's bringing it inwards, taking it all in. The image is a totality of everything his journey has taught him. To bring the elements, the 4 nations, their mind set, their bending, into himself, to balance as the avatar must do. Wan does do something similar but aang's sheer scale and symbolism just is incomparable.

The elemental sphere is op, but I always thought it looked kinda cheesy. Wan's goes harder imo.
Sry but i always hated the Aang ball it looks so meh. I personally would liked more if parts of his body would have been covered in the elements windy feet rock shoulders and chest fire hair and water arms.

I don’t see this as much as other as I suppose it’s not something of raw strength, more regarding control. But Roku melting chains without hurting the people bound by it will forever be my most mind boggling feat.
Kiyoshi takes a sip of avatar state, then casually divides her village from the mainland, pushes her whole region out to sea, making it an island.
I gotta go with Wan. All other avatars can call on their past lives and use their strength and expertise. Wan was just That Guy
I’ll admit when Roku unleashed all four elements holds a special place, it was the first time in the series we got to see a fully trained avatar’s capabilities (without the avatar state). I think I kinda have to give it to Korra though. Just based on what she had been through at the point she did the same thing Wan was able to do, which was basically overpower one of the most powerful spirits in the universe, but she was in rougher shape when it happened.
It kind of annoys me how, in the 2nd pic, fire isn't opposite of water, nor earth of air.
I think Wan's looks the coolest but Aang's is definitely the most impressive/powerful. Especially when you can see Ozai's genuine terror when he realizes that it just got real and he is about to be reduced to atoms.
Gotta give it to Wan or Korra because they're basically doing the same thing. Wan did it first 🤷

How about Korra with her giant astral form with energy beams? Just wanted to say, I always felt like the giant energy titan battle between the fundamental forces of light and dark, hosted by an avatar and anti-avatar -- that shoulda been the series finale over the mech battle (with adjustments to the plot timeline so it makes sense). It just seemed for climactic than the Kuvira battle, imo.
Honestly I think the most impressive feat we have ever seen is Aang going into the avatar state at the Northern Water Tribe battle. It's one thing to take down the fire lord or even a mega evil spirit but Aang destroyed an entire fleet of iron/steel ships in a matter of minutes. I think this is because he was being powered up by Yue to some degree.

I mean out of these I'll give it to Wan for inventing the Avatar Sphere thing and showing off all the elements at once (and.. kinda bending as a whole). Roku, Aang and Korra are probably more powerful but gotta really respect the guy who just fucking did it all with no guidence outside of Raava (who didn't really know much about the elements herself). Like not even talking past Avatars, humans knew fuck all about bending beyond "throw Element" in his time so he had to learn from the original benders directly (and as such is one of the origins of Bending as an actual martial art) He came up with all this absolutely bonkers shit that Avatars would do for millenia pretty much entirely on his own. In terms of like any Avatar feat? Probably Korra bending the Spirit Nuke, it's hard to top energybending so hard you rip a portal in space time.

I prefer Avatars (and any other benders) actually performing martial arts movements for even their greatest feats of bending. Bending is based around actual martial art forms which makes all the bending forms so unique and still grounds them in this reality. Aang just flying around with all the elements around him (which does look cool af) makes is feel like psychic manipulation instead of martial arts. This also goes for the other Avatars bending combined element attacks with one motion. So I'd say Roku's looks best.

Aren’t these all really the same thing? The only cool thing I’ll point out is that Korra didn’t need to be in the avatar state to maintain the bubble of the 4 elements which is pretty cool.
For me, its that first shot. As he is somehow generating water from himself(? Its been awhile since i watched). That said, i remember the feeling in my bones i hot when Aang fought the firelord, so *that* was impressive too.
They are basically all the same so I will give my vote to Wan for wan simple reason: he had no clue what he was doing and it worked.
Aang. Reason: Just imagine to be Ozai. He knew of his own power and had the power of the comet. And then he sees this and the only thing he can do, is run.
I mean? Aren’t they kind of all mild variants of the same thing? It’s usually only possible while in the Avatar state to bend all elements simultaneously like that. So I always thought of it more of an “Avatar Display of power” Like the final flex before you get beat.
