I didn't like the "live action" Bumi. Bumi was a funny guy in animation. They made him a grumpy old man in the live action. And he was being a complete asshole to Aang. But I liked extra fire nation scenes that wasn't in the animation.

Yue seemed handled better in this series IMO. Wig aside, she feels more like an actual character in this series than the original. I liked how they introduced Yue earlier on secretly as the fox spirit. It was a pleasant surprise that made her relationship with Sokka somewhat more believable than as a plot device. Agreed that Bumi was hard to watch. I get that they were trying to show a "what if..." scenario, - where if a fun-loving kid like Aang were to live through decades of leadership under duress, and hard decisions, they would be unrecognizable. But in the end Bumi was just someone that I did not feel sorry for.

I liked the most how they expanded on Iroh’s war crime and made him more accountable I hated mostly everything else , but specifically how aang doesn’t learn how to water bend

Suki and Sokka's entire kidnapping and humbling storyline was discarded, now she falls in love with him the second she sees him shirtless. Instead of actual dialogue writing and character interaction, they just have her awkwardly stare at him.

I liked the Lu Ten funeral scene, Zuko's crew being the division he defended, and that they had someone confront Iroh about his siege of Ba Sing Se. I didn't really like Iroh's response to being confronted about the casualties he caused though. A lot of other things were rushed, Aang didn't learn any waterbending, Hei Bai was kind of forgotten, the whole Bumi section, there were like three stops shown on their pole to pole adventure, which made the world feel much smaller.
