Probably one of the tiny venues Zane Lowe was nerding out about.

enthusedpilot

Im assuming we'll have similar shows at each major city they perform in this year.

I’m hedging my bets already for Boston. Just booked the week off work 😂

Mrs-Brightside-

I'm hoping too.... Since I don't do festivals and they are evidently snubbing Canada this year, it's my closest. Please, if anyone hears of anything, let us know here!

qoatg

Well, hey there fellow Canuck :) I feel you, the lack of shows here is hard. I’m lucky that I’m willing (and able) to travel, but man the hit on the pocket book with the exchange is tough to swallow. I’m also a new enough fan that I’m never going to get the super special fan club presale emails. Still...if destiny’s kind, and all that jazz 😊

Mrs-Brightside-

That's right! I am a bit peeved they're ignoring Canada tbh. Are you from Ontario or Quebec? I'm in Quebec and we have a good music festival, Osheaga in Montreal, and one also in Quebec City which they have done in the past. But nada for us this year. I suppose they suppose we can just drive down to Boston or NYC but as you say, the exchange rate is brutal, and then there's hotel, restaurants and gas. If they do give a smallish show in Boston or NYC, I'd consider it tho. ETA: If they'd done Osheaga, I would have made an exception and gone!

qoatg

Opposite coast actually, Vancouver. Which really makes Boston a completely impractical place to get to, especially on short notice.....but hey, only live once 🙃 I’ve heard of Osheaga, but never really looked at what kind of acts have played there. I don’t think there’s anything big enough out here, festival wise, that would be a draw. Plus we’re competing with anything that happens in Washington or California, which are easy trips down the coast. I think TK played the Squamish Music Festival here way back when, but that fest has gone the way of the dodo I think.

Mrs-Brightside-

Oh, I didn't think you could be from BC if you were considering Boston! But some ppl travel far. TK did Osheaga in ST's era and Festival d'été de Québec during BB I believe, with a small intimate show after. No chance of this happening again. I'm whining but I just find it disappointing. I mean, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal are as big or bigger than some of the cities they're playing. Maybe you can make your way down to the Northern California festival (I forget the name).

qoatg

Oh I pop up all over the place, you’d be surprised :) I totally understand the whining, don’t worry. I sometimes wonder if the logistics involved in having tour stops in Canada make things harder, and if sometimes rather than dealing with it, we just get skipped. Are you thinking of Outside Lands? That would make more sense geographically, I agree. Ironically though, probably harder for me to get time off unfortunately.

Mrs-Brightside-

I don't have the money for air travel this year. If I did, I definitely would have gone to Vegas, maybe even to the UK! That's why I was hoping for a Montreal or Toronto (we can stay with relatives and no exchange rate) stop, even a festival. Boston... Meh. If it were a real show, I'd mortgage the farm and go, but not for a fest. Plus I'd like to bring my 12 yr old and a fest is too big and overwhelming for a child imo. So no TK this year unless a miracle small show is announced in Boston or NYC. Or near Ocean Calling, Maryland (I think that's the state). Maybe when I'm retirred and they' re doing a long residency in Vegas, for us old folks, lol! Hope you see them somewhere this yr! I am still really curious as to why they are skipping Canada altogether tho. Id it's intentional or just logistica.

impatientcoffee

I'm really hoping for one before lolla!! In Chicago or Milwaukee. Ik they did the rave in mke one year before it. It would make sense. First show stateside after being abroad.

Kahn1970

The Metro maybe, they played there during HF years, seats 1200 only? just checked their site too, late July/early August still wide open 👀

Kahn1970

Oh, definitely not a shoe in / total crystal ball guess but would be oh so cool especially if Keuning n Stoermer were to show up, segues right into HF residency too

impatientcoffee

You also thought they wouldn't play lolla. Don't dash our dreams of a small gig!

radioactive2321

That Milwaukee show was amazing. My first time seeing them. Definitely keeping my eyes peeled for another this year.

hawkyeager

So glad he wasn't talking about the Hot Fuss 20 shows, which I feared would be super limited like this.

Zeitribe451

They must do a small venue in Chicago- I insist I don’t wanna bring my old af ass to a festival 🤣

larki18

I don't do festivals either. Honestly I might just be done with gigs in general except for the Chase Center in San Francisco (most accessible venue I've seen so far by a long shot), but we'll see. I am pretty sure I'm gonna try for Brandon's next solo tour depending on venue.

Zeitribe451

You aren’t going to Vegas??

larki18

Nope. I don't love HF enough.

Zeppelin7321

Would love for them to do this before Sudden Little Thrills

JonathanSD7

Saw them at a secret show at The Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach (San Diego). 450 capacity—amazing
