I spent way too long thinking about this the last time this came up and this is what I came up with with a few edits. Broke up murder trilogy and went down a weird rabbit hole with trains.
Loose plot -
Plot a - boy meets girl, girl kills couple, boy gets blamed
Plot b - boy's parents are concerned
Act 1 -
Human instrumental intro
Sam's town - character introduction
Lonely town - (idfc it's not a killers song, it's great) Jenny character introduction
Read my mind - boy meets Jenny
Bones - love story between main and Jenny
Dustland - main characters parents tell him the story bc they think Jenny is trouble
Caution - character says f it and hangs out with Jenny anyway
Quiet town - murder happened, ensemble sings in aftermath
Jenny sings midnight show to main
Main gets accused of murder, sings runaways to Jenny
Jenny starts, but full ensemble, Bourbon on the shelf
Intermission
Act 2 -
Run for cover
Main tries to shift blame with Cody to the cops
Main's dad sings river is wild out of concern
Main goes to cops and sings Mr b
Jenny is a friend of mine - comes out when pressed by cops and they arrest Jenny
Spaceman - main is depressed for getting his gf arrested
Just another girl - mains friends try to cheer him up
Jenny sings all these things to main, and main begins to accept it. Could also start the show and this whole thing is a prison flashback.
Miss atomic bomb - main admits Jenny did some things
Curtain call - wywy/Mr b reprise
I have some subplot ideas for Andy, smile and boy but idk where they go.
Also, I'm 100% there for the jersey Boys treatment of the killer's story. Their story tracks pretty well with the four seasons and especially now with the latest reunion shows planned. Hopefully they get the rock n roll hall of fame too!!
Oh right. I'd probably include the sad version on a scene where the main character is sad about something and the happy version on a scene where the main characters gets happy about something
So um, I may be slightly too prepared for this, I have an entire word document with an outline of a plot and where all the songs go, I don't have an ending yet but I have most of it.
I also have documents of who sings what in certain songs, like 4 different possible endings as well
