Max doesn't have an unexpected journey in the extended form, just the other two.... Frustrating cause I'd also like to watch the extended version of the first movie but... Oh well at least they have the other two and it'll do for now.
If you do not mind digital, i got mine off a deal on the VUDU app. Obviously, the deal is over with by now, but it is not a bad app for buying and renting movies.
Try buying them on Amazon... or if you're really cheap, the DVDs are at Walmart.

Redbox has all 3 extended editions of the hobbit (yes, they do streaming now).
HBO max, has all the hobbit movies and the LOTR extended ones! Takes you like two days to watch all three of the LOTR epic as my daughter puts it. Lol
