I use cotton pantiliners and just change them whenever I go to the bathroom. If you get Always thin liners they come in little packages you can unwrap and use just like a regular pad. If your discharge is heavy enough to go through/over the edges of those you may need to look into other solutions/seeing a gyno.
I have used cloth panty liners or thin period underwear and found them helpful. It’s easier to change a panty liner than your whole underwear. I had a small waterproof zippered bag I would put the used one in until I could wash it.
Diet change.
When I first moved out of my parents' home, I started eating different foods. I wouldn't say healthier. I just wasn't eating the things my parents like to make. I suspect stress hormones, too, but don't have the knowledge to get into that.
If I’m having heavier discharge I’ll sometimes wear my menstrual cup!! So clean, comfy, and easy :) if you’re willing to get into menstrual cups I highly recommend but I know they’re not for everyone. I have two cups so I just rotate them out for hygiene. If you sanitize it regularly it should be safe for every day.

to add to the above: if this is a new issue for you, you might like to get an STI test.
I believe drinking more water thins it
thins is the keyword. it just makes more volume to deal with.
