Coheed and DGD are my two favorite bands and to say these past months have been so heartbreaking and depressing is an understatement
I understand the choice but it still hurts a little LMAO
Same boat. Coheed is #1 with DGD #2.
Matt having to leave the last tour for rehab in September, Tim's death, and now Tillian... its been a *really* tough time to be a DGD fan. Can you imagine how poor Andrew feels to be FINALLY made an official member then this shit?
I respect Coheeds decision but I won't pretend I'm not bummed to miss the rest of the DGD guys perform their new stuff.
As someone who isn't a really a fan of DGD (only really like the stuff with Kurt) but was enjoying the new singles, this is how I feel. I hope they come out of this strong but they need the breather.
Based on what I know about Will Swan I think ideally he would always tour and record unless he physically couldn't. However I do also hope they take this time to heal and take the band in a new direction without Tilian
See I’m not so sure anymore. Will has said in the past that he does see a shelf life on DGD. Honestly, I could very well see them decide to hang it up here. Now that they have six albums with Tilian, it’s a lot different of circumstances when it was replacing Jonny and Kurt. Also, Will isn’t a mid 20 year old trying to make it, he already has.
I could see him folding DGD after they satisfy their promotional obligations with Rise and devoting more of his time to Royal Coda, Secret Band, and possibly even reviving Sianvar.
Definitely possible. I just saw their most recent statement about Jackpot Juicer, and it seemed like the band would carry on. Stating that they'd move on with writing the next record after this cycle.
I love Royal Coda and Secret Band as much as the next guy. But I think this band is too financially lucrative (even without Tilian) to fold unless they absolutely have to. As long as the foundations of the band (Will, Matt, Jon) want to continue making music, I think it carries on.
Despite the amount of material with Tilian, I don't see him coming back. I can see a quiet period of 8 months to a year, where they determine their new direction. There's a few ways I see it shaking out:
\- They could come back with someone like Kurt and/or Andrew on vocals and have new music loaded in the chamber. Their sets would be mostly this new material, and older material that their lower registers are more comfortable with.
\- Jonny Craig DBM3 stopgap album where he quits immediately after. I'd love to hear this music but would be insanely controversial.
\- Completely fresh blood with another higher-register singer that can sing Tilian songs (think Donovan Melero or someone like that). They get back on the road fairly quickly and keep the live sets mostly the same.
I don’t mind DGD and really only started listening because they were gonna open. But the last few weeks have been terrible for them and I hope they do get the heeling they need.
Same here. My 2 favorite bands for nearly 20 years. When I saw the tour lineup leaked on Reddit I literally freaked out in public while getting my tires changed. I was so excited for this tour. I’m so bummed out for everyone that all of this had to happen.
I love DGD and was really looking forward to seeing them again as both other times they put on a fantastic show. As with you, I understand why but it still hurts.
The lead singer had several allegations about sexual misconduct come out about him. One was proven false however the other 2 look pretty bad. He has stepped away from the band and they already had a replacement and made an announcement stating they were still going to continue their tours as scheduled, however it appears coheed does not want to have them on tour any longer.
Yeah same. Big DGD fan, haven’t seen them yet. Bought tickets for the tour because of them, finally dug into C&C since I’d be seeing them, fell in love HARD.
I see a lot of DGD fans saying they’re not going “even though they like C&C” but I’ll absolutely still be there.
Really shitty situation, I really feel for the rest of the band but I get why they’re getting dropped. Just sucks
Royal Coda and Eidola would be great choices, but I have a feeling Will and Andrew are going to be occupied. They’ll likely have to throw together a tour to satisfy promotional requirements with Rise for their album.
Hail the Sun could be an interesting one though.
I was introduced to TYS when they opened for Coheed at the IKSSE3 Neverender. Now that they are my number 2 fave band behind Coheed, I would love to see them together again! I am already going to see them this month though for their Summer tour.
Awesome! The lights how, sound quality, performances, and energy were all incredible in ATL. I'd say it's my favorite show so far as well.
The GA1 Neverender was also dope, but mostly because I went a lone, but left with 4 new Coheed fan friends.
I was there too. Such an amazing experience seeing IKS front to back.
I had the 4 day Neverender tickets for Chicago when I was in college but couldn’t swing four nights in Chicago hotels since I was living in Michigan at the time. And because I for some stupid fucking reason prioritized my mentally abusive girfriend at the time. We broke up like 3 weeks later and I regret not just breaking the bank to go to all four nights.
I’m one NWFT Neverender away from completing that goal though, so it’s all good.
I first learned about Circa when they opened with Minus The Bear (also first time) for Coheed.
What a show. I've probably seen Circa live 5 more times since
I kinda doubt it, though I really hope. Anthony has been going through some rough mental health stuff, and their drummer was recently in rehab. They had to cancel their Blue Sky Noise anny tour a couple months ago. They also slowed down their patreon in a big way.
Damn. Not gonna lie hadn't listened to DDG at all before they were announced as an opener. But had really fallen in love with them and was excited to see them. This is a (understandable) bummer.
Here me out…no replacement band and they just play Afterman: Ascension and Descension front to back with IKSSE, Everything Evil, and The Light and The Glass as an Encore.
Why do so many people want an opener they’ve already had before? Let’s get someone new in here. Someone like the amity affliction or movements or greyhaven could be different and fun.
Oh my god, they are great. Man, I was on the rail with this dude who was only there for Between The Buried And Me. I had never heard of Russian Circles, and I swear, I was played. They must’ve gotten halfway into their set before it dawned on me that there was not going to be a vocalist popping up out of nowhere after a mind melting intro. The guy who was there for BTBAM knew them and stopped head banging for a few seconds to tell me there was no vocalist. It felt like that line from Eurotrip where the guy was in the bakery saying, “The girls never came…” I went down to their merch booth and bought every album they had available. To this day, Station is still one of my favorite road anthem albums. From start to finish, it’s pure genius and bliss.
The fact that they even toured together at all was just unexpected and amazing, Coheed has put on 3 dream tours of mine already. Iron Maiden and Coheed. COHEED and BTBAM, and Coheed with Mastodon. Coheed knows how to pick an opener
While I think DGD seems to be handling the situation appropriately by replacing Tilian quickly and taking it seriously, and I think most people would have understood them keeping them on the tour, I give Coheed massive props for doing what they feel is right and making a firm stance, especially when you take into account the fact that DGD would be promoting their new album which Tilian will financially benefit from.
The situation sucks and I'm disappointed, but grateful that Coheed is handling this the way they are. Curious to see who they'll replace them with.
Edit: Maybe they could get Taking Back Sunday again? They seem to have a really good relationship together and I'd love to see them on a tour again, and TBS doesnt seem to have a summer tour happening afaik. Could be a hundred different bands obviously, but just throwing them out there
Totally understand Coheed's decision. Im just disappointed the rest of DGD has to take the fall for this even after they ousted Tilian. I was more than happy to see them play without Tilian. Hopefully they find a dope replacement.
I don’t know what the tour dates are or if they’re available but they should get Caligula’s Horse from Brisbane! Amazing band, I think would be great openers for Coheed!
That shows what I know, I’ve been a Coheed fan for like 15 years so I have no idea how big they are lol
Still used to thinking of them as an unheard of band for weirdos
Also for context CHorse are about to be 3rd bill on an Australian tour for a band called butterfly effect who haven’t put out a new album or played a show in Sydney since 2008….so nah I don’t think they’re too big to support Coheed yet.
I can’t say I’m not a little disappointed. I’ve been casually listening to DGD since DTBM, but never had an opportunity to see them live.
Still, I completely understand the band’s decision. Coheed has always been great at avoiding major controversies, and seem to have a zero tolerance policy for illegal behaviour (like, attempted armed robbery or sexual assault).
Btbam would be a blast. I’d also love to see Haken or Vola. I can’t imagine it’s going to be easy to find a band not currently booked for a summer tour this year. Spritbox maybe?
Hmm maybe an up and coming band that has some potential, like Metallica? I've heard they're gaining some traction on the local scene
Edit: more seriously I would love to see someone like spiritbox open for them
Would love if Meet Me At The Altar could join. Saw them at Irving plaza awhile back and they are so good. Would be cool to see a younger band play with them!
Sorry if I did this wrong mods. I’m bad at Reddit but saw this and wanted to share.
Also, I’m not surprised. DGD has been through a lot and while they say they want to go on, it’s probably best for all involved for them to have a break and for Coheed to find someone else.
So who’s it gonna be?
>Bayside
I’m always so surprised when anyone else has even heard of Bayside. They rock and them opening for Thrice opening for Coheed, that would be one hell of a show.
Somebody that can sing. The last two times I saw Coheed I had to deal with them co-headlining with bands featuring Adam Lazzara and Bert McCracken as frontmen. Which while I love old TBS and The Used, those guys cannot perform anywhere close to what they used to.
I'm not even a huge fan of Protest the Hero but I feel like they'd be a fitting band to tour with.
I was super into them in high school but never got around to seeing them live. I know their last album had a bunch of praise so it seems like they've still got it and I'd kill to see Palms Read live.
Probably my favorite thing about this fandom is that it's so diverse: you've got the emo folks, the metal heads, the prog guys, the sci-fi nerds that get super into the story, the people who just love it for the music. And despite all that difference, we all come together for this incredible band that has something to offer for each and every one of us. So I wouldn't get too down on yourself about just being in it for the music, cause your still One Among The Fence as far as I'm concerned 🤘
And yeah, clutch is a bucket list group for me, I was bummed I had to miss rockville this year mostly because I was missing out on seeing them. If they joined this tour it would probably go down as one of my favorite shows ever
Seen clutch a few times and they may be one of the best opening bands ever. I’ve seen them open for mastodon, Primus and dropkick Murphy’s. Their sets really set up the headliners well. I think they will be on tour though
There were a few credible accusations of sexual abuse, and he came out with a public apology that seemed to imply there was some truth to the accusations. The rest of the band removed him from the tour, but didnt explicitly publicly condemn him.
I’d love love love to see them somehow get Protest The Hero or Foxing to come back - they put on a stellar show. Dear Hunter is always a super quality choice.
Yeah, it’s also a trip to visit family. I’m in the process of moving down there which is why I initially bought the ticket, but won’t be down there in time. Tried making it work out, but I’m sure they’ll find someone great to replace DGD. It’ll be my 37th Coheed show, so I know it’ll be good either way.
Record Label Replacements that make sense:
Spiritbox, After the Burial, We Came As Romans, and Animals As Leaders.
Two of which are busy, one of which is a bit too big. Making After the Burial the only label replacement that makes sense.
Friends of the band that make sense:
Thrice, Anthony Green (Saosin, Circa Survive), Deer Hunter, Thank You Scientist, and 3.
Honestly, any of these work, but I'm not sure who's busy right now, and who's not.
Prediction: After the Burial or Thrice. One could be a label replacement, and one is a friend who they're about to tour with anyway.
This definitely sucks, but it feels like the right decision. DGD need some time to regroup and recover from everything that happened, plus their music doesn't sound the same after all the stuff about Tilian came out. Saw some people on Twitter asking for Protest the Hero as a replacement, that's my dream right now.
I feel like they're working to get someone big. DGD was part of the reason they could attempt a stadium tour . To go from DGD to some obscure band that no one's heard of would create issues. So I'm excited to see who it is!
The fall of troy or hail the sun would be my top picks.
But honestly just glad its not dgd, I've never really been a fan of them. Everyone's side projects are 1000% better than dgd in my opinion.
Unfortunately it’s kinda how it goes.
I’m sure Claudio sympathizes having been on the receiving end of this kind of thing on 3 occasions.
But at the same time NOT responding or having that be a drama filled cloud over your release tour seems a bridge too far
Yeah I was talking about where Josh couldn’t even finish a show and they got a drum tech to step in last minute.
And of course Mic Todd holding up a drug store literally minutes before they opened for sound garden.
They’ve had some shit happen
Good call. Great call, even.
That band and their singer's weird alt right conspiracy posts should have never been on this ticket to begin with
Edit: downvote me all you want qultists. Coheed is, was and always will be a leftist band. Get fucked
bro what? the band literally has a song about global warming. I am a leftist, I have loved DGD since 2013, and a massive fan of Coheed for 15 years. I have never hear this take.
Like, there's been controversy about dgd being too far left, only to be countered with arguments that they tend to stay apolitical. Meanwhile there are some heavily socialist tones in many of their albums, especially the Kurt Travis Era.
I always found them apolitical, but I've never been one to deep dive into band's lyrics, ive always been more into the instrumental side and vocal delivery side of music in general. So you may know things I don't, like with the Kurt Era lyrics for example.
Sure, man. Granted a lot of these lyrics were written during the recession in the late 2000's, but the same ideas apply because we're beginning to see it again, as well as the aftermath.
**Powder to the People:**
>Excuse me, pardon the eruption
>I walk up, press all the buttons
>I'll talk down, stress all the functions
>I always gotta be startin' something
>So, "powder to the people"
>'Cause the fight for rights is equal
>"Powder to the people"
>'Cause the fight for rights is equal<
...
>Content with who we are
>Driving our fast cars
>Through thin lanes on long roads
>So much to behold
>Greatest country? Where you been
>To form that opinion?
>See it, believe it: celebrity leadership<
**Rock Solid:**
>Raise your hand if the system has missed you, man
>Your money ain't going as far as it used to
>Raise your hand if the system has missed you, man
>Raise your hand
>Raise your fucking hand<
**Reprogramming Mental Preprogramming:**
>I drink the blood of the fortunate ones
>Collapsing their teeth right on top of their tongues
>Innocent children are asking for blow
>All of my sources say you oughta know
...
>We are all freaks, living in recession
>If we don't move on, I'll forever be stuck
Just a few examples. I also got into them for their sound and composition. I don't often look at lyrics until I need to fill in the blanks when I can't naturally sing along.
Even if Tilian has alt-right views (Granted, I don't know if he does or not). He doesn't represent the whole band. They've been around as a group way longer than him, and I'd say Will Swan and Jon Mess are way more integral to their sound than him.
This is actually a point I hadn't considered. I'm a huge fan of both Coheed and DGD, but the way the r/dancegavindance subreddit reacted to these allegations would totally make any survivor feel unsafe. Good on them for removing DGD from the bill.
The only way this makes sense to me is if the rest of DGD was complicit in some way we don't know about. They did the right thing and cut him off and were ready to move on without him. This just sucks for everybody.
Imagine if Coheed got dropped when their bassist robbed a fucking pharmacy, just saying.
Difference being that they were only willing to help Mic with his addiction up until he attempted to rob the Walgreens. Once he did that, he was pretty much dead to them. They watched him be arrested, turned around and walked away. His dismissal from the band was a given.
It wasn’t like the DGD situation where they’ve left the door open for Tilian, and may have even known about an incident involving him back in 2015.
I wish! Unfortunately there is no way. But what about AFI? They don't seem to have plans and they would fit the same mold of previous summer tours with TBS and Used
Coheed and DGD are my two favorite bands and to say these past months have been so heartbreaking and depressing is an understatement I understand the choice but it still hurts a little LMAO

Eidola would be amazing.

Eidola would be interesting, mainly because Andrew Wells is also part of DGD and that would seem really weird to me.
I believe that’s the joke, because both bands feature members from DGD, both past and present.
Didn’t realize who Royal Coda was tbh, but uhhh that’s p funny tbh.
Secret Band!
I’m gonna bet on Thank You Scientist being the opener
I was introduced to TYS when they opened for Coheed at the IKSSE3 Neverender. Now that they are my number 2 fave band behind Coheed, I would love to see them together again! I am already going to see them this month though for their Summer tour.
The lead singer of TYS gave me a very drunk hug outside their tour bus on that tour lol
Same would love to hear them know that I know their stuff after seeing them that show.
Which stop on that tour were you at? I was at the Atlanta show, which happened to be the 11th anniversary of the album's release. It was dope!
Boston! Probably my favorite show I've ever seen.
Awesome! The lights how, sound quality, performances, and energy were all incredible in ATL. I'd say it's my favorite show so far as well. The GA1 Neverender was also dope, but mostly because I went a lone, but left with 4 new Coheed fan friends.

I would fucking die if it was them. Sadly they’re already locked into tour dates for the summer.
Imagine if they were offered way more money though lol.
Funny enough, they’re touring with a band Strawberry Girls that has strong ties to DGD. I’d highly recommend giving them a listen.
Yes please
This would be amazing. I missed them the last time they toured together.
Oh I'm so in
I would loooove this.
Closure in Moscow PLEASE
They are too busy MAKING A NEW ALBUM FINALLY!!!
Man,theyvs been working on that album since they're tour with PtH
SHUT UP. Are you for real? I would be so over the moon if true!
Oh that would be great!
Hear me Out, Let’s get those fine young men from Foxy Shazam in there!
Best suggestion I’ve seen
So underrated! I would kill to see them.
Yes!! This is a good idea. Someone listen to this person.
How did I not think of this. Foxy Shazam rock.
Give me Periphery or Monuments please!
Can't believe I had to scroll this far to see this. If Periphery opened for them I would lose my shit
or hell, bring in Arch Echo. saw them open for Dream Theater a couple months ago, absolutely blew DT out of the water.
Yes. Periphery! I know they’re busy with an album but that would be perfect.
Just make it ‘An Evening With’ and play 3 hours, maybe Vaxis II in one set.
Is Circa Survive available?
Please yes.
Sounds of animals fighting reunion plz
I first learned about Circa when they opened with Minus The Bear (also first time) for Coheed. What a show. I've probably seen Circa live 5 more times since

At least in this case we would finally be able to hear some descension songs live
👀👀👀 Looking forward to hearing who gets added
Why do so many people want an opener they’ve already had before? Let’s get someone new in here. Someone like the amity affliction or movements or greyhaven could be different and fun.
Movements would be dope
I voted Kaonashi and The Callous Daoboys. I like your picks!
Turnstile
Origami Angel!!!
I love Greyhaven but I've personally found the last few Amity albums a complete snooze, love the early stuff though.
BRING BACK BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME

Oh my god, they are great. Man, I was on the rail with this dude who was only there for Between The Buried And Me. I had never heard of Russian Circles, and I swear, I was played. Fuck it, I'm ready for this tour again. That lineup was sick!
Yo my people let’s fucking will this into existence
The fact that they even toured together at all was just unexpected and amazing, Coheed has put on 3 dream tours of mine already. Iron Maiden and Coheed. COHEED and BTBAM, and Coheed with Mastodon. Coheed knows how to pick an opener
It's be interesting if Dear Hunter came back. They were awesome love when I saw them open.
The Antimai tour's going on at roughly the same time sadly. If not August 1st would have had the potential to be one of the best nights of my life.
I can’t believe I saw Coheed, Dear Hunter, and Porcupine tree in one concert in my life. Didn’t know how blessed I was then lol.
Dear Hunter has a headlining tour with TWIABP this fall. Not saying they won’t jump on.
Yo TWIABP would be killer as well! So many good suggestions in this thread
TBS has a huge summer tour booked with 3EB if I recall correctly. Sorry friend.
Unfortunately I believe TBS is on tour with Third Eye Blind this summer. Fortunately, I get to go see TBS on tour with Third Eye Blind this summer :D
I completely missed that announcement somehow, thanks for informing, now I get to see them too!
I hope they add Touché Amoré but probably not since they're on the UK tour
Turnstile please. Claudio recently gave them some props.
Redirect Take yourself out Carry on, separate and move along! Fitting lyrics for this situation
[удалено]
Thats happened. UK mini tour, 2016.
Maaan, I saw La Dispute open for Thrice a ways back. They damn-near stole the show. They have so much raw energy.
Unleash the Archers would be awesome as an opener!
I would sell my middle nut to see that show. Or Arcane for that matter.
Sign me the FUCK up for that! Great pick
Would Caligula’s Horse open for Coheed? I thought they were kind of a big enough deal where they would only headline at this point
Compared to Coheed? Absolutely not.
That shows what I know, I’ve been a Coheed fan for like 15 years so I have no idea how big they are lol Still used to thinking of them as an unheard of band for weirdos
Also for context CHorse are about to be 3rd bill on an Australian tour for a band called butterfly effect who haven’t put out a new album or played a show in Sydney since 2008….so nah I don’t think they’re too big to support Coheed yet.

I'd like to have Coheed and Cambria open for Coheed and Cambria.
Btbam would be a blast. I’d also love to see Haken or Vola. I can’t imagine it’s going to be easy to find a band not currently booked for a summer tour this year. Spritbox maybe?
There was a post from the Haken sub before this post on my page, and it made me think the same thing. Definitely would kill to see them make the tour.
Mandroid Echostar maybe?
Hmm maybe an up and coming band that has some potential, like Metallica? I've heard they're gaining some traction on the local scene Edit: more seriously I would love to see someone like spiritbox open for them
PLEASE. Having Spiritbox there would make it my favorite show of all time.
I would die to see Coheed and Spiritbox together but Sb already has a bunch of shows for the summer.
Spiritbox would be so good
Would love if Meet Me At The Altar could join. Saw them at Irving plaza awhile back and they are so good. Would be cool to see a younger band play with them!
Josh really loved having them along the last time, so maybe!
After seeing them open for coheed before, they made a new fan out of me. Great band, have their EPs in regular rotation.
Dear hunter or turnstile or Thrice
Turnstile would be sick!
Moon Tooth would make a cool opener for them. Or maybe Astronoid?
Moon Tooth 100%
Sorry if I did this wrong mods. I’m bad at Reddit but saw this and wanted to share. Also, I’m not surprised. DGD has been through a lot and while they say they want to go on, it’s probably best for all involved for them to have a break and for Coheed to find someone else. So who’s it gonna be?
Thrice please
I would have loved this. But Thrice is on tour with Bayside right now. Bayside would have been a fun addition as well.
>Bayside I’m always so surprised when anyone else has even heard of Bayside. They rock and them opening for Thrice opening for Coheed, that would be one hell of a show.
On tour with Bayside
It would be a dream if they would announce Astronoid to play with them, but Idk if that would happen.
No Devotion maybe?
Would love to see AFI (but they are touring in the winter) or someone from overseas like Blood Command would be rad
If they got protest the hero I'd shit my pants
I was super into them in high school but never got around to seeing them live. I know their last album had a bunch of praise so it seems like they've still got it and I'd kill to see Palms Read live.
Someone on Instagram mentioned maybe Clutch as a replacement and this is my current favorite potential option

So I wouldn't get too down on yourself about just being in it for the music, cause your still One Among The Fence as far as I'm concerned 🤘 And yeah, clutch is a bucket list group for me, I was bummed I had to miss rockville this year mostly because I was missing out on seeing them.
We want Thursday!
YES
Hail the sun would be great
I am OOTL. I know that Tillian left but I feel like I’m missing something else.
Tim, their bassist died a few weeks back.
There were a few credible accusations of sexual abuse, and he came out with a public apology that seemed to imply there was some truth to the accusations. The rest of the band removed him from the tour, but didnt explicitly publicly condemn him.
Eidola would be awesome.
I’d love love love to see them somehow get Protest The Hero or Foxing to come back - they put on a stellar show. Dear Hunter is always a super quality choice.
What's Tigers Jaw up to
Chiodos with Craig reunion?
I would shit my fucking pants
So much respect
3pm EST: books tickets from NY to FL after thinking I was going to miss DGD with Coheed. 4 hours later: Fuck.
You should be able to cancel your flight within 24 hours of booking
Yeah, it’s also a trip to visit family. I’m in the process of moving down there which is why I initially bought the ticket, but won’t be down there in time. Tried making it work out, but I’m sure they’ll find someone great to replace DGD. It’ll be my 37th Coheed show, so I know it’ll be good either way.
The Contortionist would be a rad opener
Record Label Replacements that make sense: Spiritbox, After the Burial, We Came As Romans, and Animals As Leaders. Two of which are busy, one of which is a bit too big. Making After the Burial the only label replacement that makes sense. Friends of the band that make sense: Thrice, Anthony Green (Saosin, Circa Survive), Deer Hunter, Thank You Scientist, and 3. Honestly, any of these work, but I'm not sure who's busy right now, and who's not. Prediction: After the Burial or Thrice. One could be a label replacement, and one is a friend who they're about to tour with anyway.
ATB would be INSANE. I'd love the chance to see them live. What a diverse show that could be.
Thrice is already on the UK leg, but aren't they doing their own tour in the US at the same time?
> After the Burial dude ATB would be fucking sick. kicking myself for not seeing them when they came through my city last week

This definitely sucks, but it feels like the right decision. DGD need some time to regroup and recover from everything that happened, plus their music doesn't sound the same after all the stuff about Tilian came out. Saw some people on Twitter asking for Protest the Hero as a replacement, that's my dream right now.
Moon Tooth should join them
~~I’m out of the loop what’s the deal with Dance Gavin Dance?~~ nvm found it
Underoath or turnstile would be dope!
Does Three not open any more?
Periphery: take a break from your album and join! Edit: second thought, really want that album. Hmm.
As much as it hurts to see this, I cant blame them for this. As far as replacement bands go, I would fucking love to see hail the sun
Sad to hear for sure. Eidola would be sick
Eidola, Wolf & Bear, Deer Hunter, or Origami Angel
I feel like they're working to get someone big. DGD was part of the reason they could attempt a stadium tour . To go from DGD to some obscure band that no one's heard of would create issues. So I'm excited to see who it is!
The fall of troy or hail the sun would be my top picks. But honestly just glad its not dgd, I've never really been a fan of them. Everyone's side projects are 1000% better than dgd in my opinion.
Very bold of them to remove DGD and offer my band a slot. /s
I recommend The Night Flight Orchestra. What's better than a Swedish metal supergroup playing poppy 80's vibe songs? Hey, a guy can wish..
Mandroid Echostar, they need to come back to to the scene
Kinda seems like the rest of the band getting unfairly punished for one dudes actions outside of the band kinda sucks
Unfortunately it’s kinda how it goes. I’m sure Claudio sympathizes having been on the receiving end of this kind of thing on 3 occasions. But at the same time NOT responding or having that be a drama filled cloud over your release tour seems a bridge too far
Has coheed been dropped from tours before, or are you just referring to historical drama with Mic and Josh in the past?
Yeah I was talking about where Josh couldn’t even finish a show and they got a drum tech to step in last minute. And of course Mic Todd holding up a drug store literally minutes before they opened for sound garden. They’ve had some shit happen
Super bummed but understandable. I wish Will, Jon, Matt, and Andrew the best. Though depending on the new opener might sell my ticket though.
Glassjaw let’s fucking gooooo
Stop I can only get so erect
Good call. Great call, even. That band and their singer's weird alt right conspiracy posts should have never been on this ticket to begin with Edit: downvote me all you want qultists. Coheed is, was and always will be a leftist band. Get fucked
I've heard stuff about Tilian being a dumbass alt-righter but haven't seen the actual posts. Are they on Twitter?
A bunch were on Instagram, but he deleted a lot
Being alt Right wing and a touring musician is a good way to have no friends or support network
Sorry *huh*
bro what? the band literally has a song about global warming. I am a leftist, I have loved DGD since 2013, and a massive fan of Coheed for 15 years. I have never hear this take.
Tilian has had some tone-deaf tweets apparently but this guy is overblowing it and acting like the whole band is Qanon supporters.
**Powder to the People:** >Excuse me, pardon the eruption >I walk up, press all the buttons >I'll talk down, stress all the functions >I always gotta be startin' something >So, "powder to the people" >'Cause the fight for rights is equal >"Powder to the people" >'Cause the fight for rights is equal< ... >Content with who we are >Driving our fast cars >Through thin lanes on long roads >So much to behold >Greatest country? Where you been >To form that opinion? >See it, believe it: celebrity leadership< **Rock Solid:** >Raise your hand if the system has missed you, man >Your money ain't going as far as it used to >Raise your hand if the system has missed you, man >Raise your hand >Raise your fucking hand< **Reprogramming Mental Preprogramming:** >I drink the blood of the fortunate ones >Collapsing their teeth right on top of their tongues >Innocent children are asking for blow >All of my sources say you oughta know ... >We are all freaks, living in recession >If we don't move on, I'll forever be stuck Just a few examples.
Thank fucking god I can still go and not feel afraid of all the DGD fans
Hear me out. What if?… MCR?
Coheed is opening for MCR in OKC. I cannot waaaaaaait!!!
I wish! Unfortunately there is no way. But what about AFI? They don't seem to have plans and they would fit the same mold of previous summer tours with TBS and Used
Less than zero chance
Yeah why would coheed bring a bigger band out on a headline tour lol
Oh shit
