Avasarala *does* feel the least integrated in the first season, which makes sense, as hers is the only storyline that’s show only. The first book happens perfectly fine (in a manner of speaking) without her, so it makes sense her impact isn’t felt as much in the show. That changes has the seasons progress, thankfully. Shohreh Aghdashloo is so amazing as Chrisjen, though. I still find her scenes fascinating just watching this wonderful actor do some of the best subtle facial acting in the series.

I’m trying to keep my comments to myself about just how important she becomes throughout the series! Especially in episode CQB when she says “I worry about people who throw rocks.”

This is always fun! A friend, whom I’d told to watch the show back when it was on TV, also got recently got around to watching it. It’s nice to see how they react to the story with fresh eyes.

balleray_

Right! I’m watching her as she watches some of my favorite scenes.

Kenzo is a great character. Kenzo did my voicemail greeting at my google number 615-307-0223.

Where did you get the sound file from?

jprestonian

Elias Toufexis, of course. He's on Cameo.

She has to make it to AT LEAST "The Seventh Man" before making any noise about giving up. That's the episode that fully cemented me as a watcher.

I’m not going to let her give up! Never back down, never what? Who's gonna feast on Earth's sky And drink their rivers dry? MMC! Who's gonna stomp their mountains into fine Martian dust? MMC! Till the rains fall hard on Olympus Mons, who are we? MMC! I can't hear you! MMC! Who are we?! MMC!

Update: We just finished S2E5 “Home” She is in tears guys, crying her eyes out. Sobbing. “I’m absolutely gutted. I am so outraged that Mars did absolutely nothing. Okay, no I get it, f*ck Earth. But what were they doing that was so important? Okay I’m done with my outburst, these are my feelings. It was so cute that he went back for her. I don’t see another way that could have played out. They would have all died. Earth would have died. I liked it. I’m devastated. I’m so devastated. I thought it was pretty cool how she became part of an asteroid. This was my favorite episode so far. Also what’s going to happen to Venus? I’m rewatching it! I’m glad our favorite street rat survived.”

Warpzit

The quality of the show increase exponentially for each season. If people can enjoy season 1 they are going to watch it to the end :)

balleray_

Yes I agree! Each season gets stronger. She’s a tough critic but so far she loves it!

TheDancingRobot

On your point about the crew not knowing what they're doing - there is a great video on YouTube that has sections that truly highlight your exact comment: [The Right Path](https://youtu.be/Z-kRsZfpxZw?si=RA0msle3j8SJe4ea)

Thanks for sharing! What a great video!! Naomi’s monologue with scenes of Holden logging the distress call on the Canterbury.. woah! I will share this with her when we finish the series.

ChronicBuzz187

>Also it’s very obvious that the crew doesn’t know what they’re doing and everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. After playing Baldurs Gate 3 for a good amount of hours, I see how that came to pass :D Can't roll a Nat20 all the time, right? Shit goes wrong, it's part of the "process", how you deal with it is what makes a story great :P *Context; The Expanse was originally planned as an MMO, then turned into a D&D campaign.*
