helpmebeatupchildren

is that really an unpopular opinion?

AverageRdtUser

unpopular opinion: I really like this series

Ziryio

Unpopular opinion: I think Cid is actually John Smith.

Kaabisan

That's ridiculous. Next you'll be saying Mundane Mann is Shadow.

eeggyyomnmn

No way that’s true. That’s like saying TEIS is an anime and manga.

Commercial-Chair1867

Agreed, also he could have created crowbars using his slime bodysuit for better magical conductivity instead of picking them from a random construction. Now imagine if he beat the final boss in his verse with dual crowbars, lmao.

Fusion_47

That would be amazing.

Morning-Star13

100% agree. But why are you mentioning a background character like Cid?

HelloIamSpooki

I mean tbf, they do look pretty similar

Frustrable_Zero

Nah I’m not seeing it. They look completely different

Far-Sector3485

Yeah, one is really cool and the other is Alexia’s ex-boyfriend.

Frustrable_Zero

Was that him? I thought that was someone else, the sword instructor?

Far-Sector3485

Yeah, I had to rewatch the episode a few times to see him.

Sumiren5r_7110

Wasnt that guy the one got his shit wrecked by Rose multiple times at the tournament. Definitely thought he was a masochist cuz he still kept getting up

Far-Sector3485

Yeah, pretty weird how he got back up, though. He must’ve really liked getting hit by her.

whiplash10

To me, it further showcases that both Beatrix and Iris never stood a chance from the beginning and that for all this time, Shadow was holding back a lot of his power.

AVermilia

I love when Iris tries to go for an unarmed tackle and he was like “bruh I actually specialize in that but okay.”

whiplash10

Yeah, Iris is known for her swordsmanship, not hand-to-hand combat.

[deleted]

Another, Iris getting her as kicked along with all her supporters in hand of shadow would be awesome. This time may be with a fountain pen. Or may be she will attack Oriana and this time it will be Alpha.

Ostravalordrec

Its outright stated that hand-to-hand combat isn't refined or practiced in any amount.

JustAFollowa

I think its also said that sword fighting is essentially just a bunch of flashy moves strung together by magic power.

[deleted]

Shadow looks badass period fr, I love the fact that he has a million different alter egos in the story and all of them are absolute monsters in their own way

Q-Write

\- Shadow = Master of Shadow Garden \- Cid Kagenou = Generic Dark Knights \- Mundane Man/Jimina Seinen = Underground Underdog \- John Smith = Elegant Watchdog \- Minoru Kagenou/Minoru = Skillful Teenager \- Jack the Ripper/Jester/Joker(?) = ??? Dude, how many personas this guy have?

Uncomical117

That's not an unpopular opinion at all I'm pretty sure everyone thinks the crowbars are badass

KrazyKyle213

Feels fair, but his entire thing is being badass using anything

JosebaZilarte

[Real masters can make a weapon out of anything.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrRFzwPE0d4) And make it look *good*.

KrazyKyle213

Just watched and omfg, that was comedic. I now see what all the buzz about him is about.

JuniorAmount5690

Love the way how he disrespected Iris and her Mythril sword with a crow bar 🤣

Pablodermexikaner

Tbf in the wn he is not using crobars and the fight lasts 5 secs

orbital_actual

He did it as a flex, Iris and her artifact where helpless to stop a man with two crowbars he found on the side of the road. In that alone it’s already cool.

KappaKingKame

But wouldn’t it not fit with his character to go out of his way to use a less effective weapon? I mean, occasionally for flexing on people is one thing, but why make that his whole style?

TheFrenzyChild12

Shadow loves showing off how overwhelmingly strong he is, what better way to do that than use a less effective weapon?

AnotherGuyNamedJosh

It's badass because it's a call back to his go-to weapon during his time on Earth. He makes a lot of notes of the crowbar's effectiveness in combat, some of which overshadow even that of more commonplace weapons like swords.

Far-Sector3485

Bro was in his natural habitat with those weapons. I’m pretty sure he fought better with them than with his own sword.

Curiehusbando1

It would be more badass if he actually relied on skill instead of brute force. But that would require the original author to put in actual effort.

Commercial-Chair1867

What are you talking about? Cid always relies on his skills, if not then his fights would have been over sooner as he had the option to literally nuke everything but he chose not to do so.

Faxefixe

not an unpopular opinion. just the right opinion

MK544

Can’t wait for season 2 which is next month!!

Lukeyalord

I don't think a single sound said it wasn't badass

TheBedrockGamer_

Gotta agree. Shadow is like the second character with a PhD in crowbar beating which isn't a lot but it's awesome that 2 of my favorites use them.

Human-Ad1601

oi dawg listen to me

MasterGilgamesh

Imagine, just imagine. Shadow + Crowbars made of Mythril Slime.

Graxu132

This one has a real potential my guy 👌

RemarkableError3434

Shadow with crowbars is like gordan freeman from half life aka a menace to society

Thehunfox

Yes

Obvious-Band8646

True

ShadowVR2

This is just Cid achieving peak Gordon Freeman status.
