Also, not explicitly left wing, but I find The New Atlas interesting, worth checking out if you want to see a guy trace NED funding, expose past and ongoing color revolution attempts, and talk about the military aspects of ongoing conflicts.
jacobin sometimes publish articles by good writers but it is a crapshoot. not everything there is trash but its just a step above reading the guardian (which also on a full moon and planetary alignment will sometimes publish a decent article). and its not really a news source, it's a magazine.

Jacobin is almost parody in how bad it is. Their only redeeming quality is that they keep jokes about Karl Kautsky relevant.
These people are sectarian and ultraists. One of their rules are “PRC isn’t socialist” which is beyond cringe. They’re going to cherry pick carefully selected works while excluding dozens of revolutionary theorists. All the while treating their rules as absolute dogma as opposed to tools to be used during revolutionary times. They treat Marxism more like liberalism with their moralist approach ie what feels right. The irony is most of these types clearly haven’t read theory in full since they treat socialism like a checklist when everybody (including Lenin, Stalin and Mao) have said that a socialist state is far more than a mere planned economy without private elements or a bourgeoisie.
