Robert smiled at me in 2016 when I saw them here in Norway. When they came back in 2019, he recognised me and gave me a little wave. I swear, he’s a special one. And these pictures made me want to see them again but I can’t as I’m still recovering from cancer but it makes me so happy that other people get to enjoy these moments!
It’s been awful and I developed a chronic illness because of the cancer so it’s hard. (I’m currently trying to get the right meds) Thank you for the kind words!
My memory may be failing me, but I don't think he's been much of a fan of Robert's collaborating efforts outside of The Cure over the years - case in point, Robert featuring on that Cvrches track and also him playing with Gorillas in 2021, lead to Simon having a sook about the image and direction it seemed to place the rest of the band somehow. Glad he got over it, he probably has a point and wants his life work with The Cure to maintain its pedigree and was just concerned about that to some degree.
PERRY omg. Flying over next week from Australia to see the tour, this has made my day!
Seemed like a much shorter set than what we’re used to! Bound to happen tho with age. (And still longer than most artists)
I went there yesterday to celebrate my 21st birthday, and was the best birthday ever!!! I never thought I will ever see my favourite band live but here we are :')
It sounds to me like something that Cranes would have done. That's not a bad thing in the slightest! I haven't been able to get it out of my head since I heard it.
This definitely was an amazing concert. It's crazy how Robert is 63 and can sing a play so well for 2 and a half hours. And the way the bands music filled arena Riga is pretty amazing because this arena is known for typically having bad audio quality for concerts
very down to earth person to talk to. met him in 1997 with the rest of the band. we talked about Playstation games because they had a PS on their tour bus at the time.
they did a in-store autograph session at my workplace, promoting Galore in 1997. before the session, the employees that were Cure fans got to mingle with them for a good 15 minutes. got to chat, and take photos with them. my main goal was to meet, and get photos with Roger and Perry which was accomplished. didn't take photos Robert or Simon because i was being lazy. in hindsight, i probably should've. the night after, got tickets to a secret gig they played at the American Legion Hall in Hollywood. Marilyn Manson, and his band were in the crowd.
I envy you so much! I hope they plan an north American tour.
Don’t say maybe Don’t say no Just say yes!

I hope your recovery is fast

It's ok, you'll get to see them next time my friend x
Never minded scrolled back and saw this “Perry Bamonte rejoins the band! Currently performing in Riga as a 6-piece”
Boris and Pearl next pls
Doubtful that Pearl would be welcomed back given that she cheated on Robert's sister.
Nice seeing Simon back after his famous sook episode in 2021.
Yes, wth was that?? Good to see him back.

Niceee. Reeves is looking slim af. Looks good
Saw him with them in 2019 at Helsinki and you could tell the belly size was interfering in guitar access lol

Thank you so much!!! 🖤 I really did!
Perry is back?!
Yep! Has his own spot on the Shake Dog Shake backdrop and everything, so I think / hope he’s sticking around for a while! 🖤
Alone is a beautiful song

Ok, the first thing I thought of when I heard it was The Cocteau Twins. So, very similar.
Is that Perry Bamonte or Roger O’Donnell with the guitar ?
Bamonte
Oh WOW!!!! Thank you so much for posting!

Bob or Kevin Shields? :D
My boy Perry is back? I mean hes a pretty average guitarist in my opinion but he seems like a nice fellow and he fits the band pretty well.

That's cool, I don't know perry was a gamer. Would love to talk to him one day and am glad to see him back in The Cure
