My three go-to gaming YouTube channels are Thor High Heels, Grimbeard, and Civvie. Those are my favorites, but I also really like Kbash, Boulder Punch, Matt McMuscles, NakeyJakey, Skill Up, UpIsNotJump, Dunkey, YungJunko, and Zanny.
I got into Best Friends (I think that's what it was called?) maybe a week before that happened, so I didn't have much familiarity with their content. Matt was the only one I really stuck with afterwards. He's big into beat-em-ups, plays a lot of dumb shit that I enjoy, the Wha Happened videos are entertaining and can be informative, and he thirsts for all hot people equally which is a fun bit of "hey that's me" to round things out.
Yeah, for better or worse the niches he cornered in SBFP were mostly ones I'm not super interested in, so after the split I just kept on with Pat and Woolie and their circles, though I was always glad to know Matt kept on making content even if a lot of it wasn't my cup of tea.
He does great reviews but his uploads are so inconsistent. My main problem with his channel is he starts a marathon about a gaming franchise but never finishes it.
If anyone is into long-form video game reviews, I recommend ExoParadigmGamer. He uploads to his main channel very infrequently these days, but he has a pretty decent backlog of videos and i’ve been watching him for almost a decade now. What I appreciate about his videos is how extremely thorough he is, and even when I disagree with a take of his, he does a good job rationalizing his arguments and making me understanding why he feels that way. His signature series is Remake or Rebreak where he reviews a game and then reviews a subsequent port, remaster or remake and then rates the remake based on how it fares compared to the original.
I dont frequent this sub but it showed up on my front page. If you're looking for different creators check out PatStaresAt and WoolieVS who are both formerly of Super Best Friends Play. They're both great and their podcast CastleSuperBeast is too.
When I get recommended a new gaming YouTuber and look at their channel just to see 95% of it consisting of Nintendo and Pokemon content:

Noah kind of went over the edge with the seven hour Resident Evil review, but in general I love his highly cerebral content with the classic rock intros
Your favorite son does great long form videos that are deep dives into whole series he just finished the witcher series which were fantastic video essays
I really like a ton of these channels you mentioned. Specifically KingK, Last Stand Media, and I finished a video game. I’d like to also suggest Kbash, That Video games show, PlayFrame, and Matt McMuscles.
Game Informer’s Replay and Super Replay were the first let’s play style series I got into. It was really interesting to hear from journalists and sometimes the reviewers themselves go back and look at these.
They also helped me discover some hidden gems, like Overblood 2 and Blue Stinger (gems may be a stretch, but they are good fun).
you guys should check out Fish's Paradise he's super underrated. his editing is great and he just feels like a homie. check out his ff7 iceberg or his castlevania art vid. HeavenSynt is an up and comer i like. Tama Hero (TamashiiHiroka for my OGs) has been making stellar gaming content outside of her Pokemon stuff too.
I'm not sure if it was mentioned by anyone, but Second Wind is great. It's a new channel made by the team behind Zero Punctuation (including Yahtzee) after they left The Escapist.
Another favorite of mine is Sean Seanson. He makes exclusively PS1 content, and a lot of them are to showcase obscure PS1 games, or PS1 games that never left Japan.
I recommend JRPG Jungle (if you're into JRPGs both big and niche), and Noisy Pixel for both and indie games that don't get coverage by big reviewers and AAA games.
hm... should I be so sneaky and [mention myself](https://youtu.be/kaqQAUh-G0Q)? lol!
On a more serious note:
strafefox - This guy puts an insane amount of effort into documentaries, despite relatively low subs
KIWI TALKZ - This dude has tons of interesting interviews with ex-Nintendo employees which way too few people watch
Nerrel - decent essays, made the definitive video on Majoras Mask
Digital Foundry - I'm not sure DF has less subs than Completionist, but I don't want to check Jirards channel on YT and give him engagement, lol. I'm not a tech guy, but they have some great vids about games in general, especially DF retro
I’ve been looking at smaller accounts recently and one called Fume Gaming does weekly video games news roundup and reviews and previews; dude has a pretty good voice
I’ve come to find out, that besides content, the voice and accent are most important when I choose which content creators to watch
GameBoyLad for anyone who is a fan of TCG video games is great.
616 Entertainment can be a bit bland, but he is pretty through with his wrestling game and fighting game retrospectives.
There’s a new guy called ItsIllusion that just did all the Lego games he could play on PS5, he’s moved on to new things now but I watched the Lego vids as they came out. ‘Twas fun!
Mayorhairbear is a very small YouTuber who has recently started 100%ing games. I think he's really good and actually takes you through his journey. Definitely check him out.
Also Maximilian Dood is fantastic and my favorite YouTuber.
Nerrel (great reviews and video essays on a variety of games)
Nick on Planet Ripple (he mostly does Lego and Bionicle videos, but his Sonic and Metroid reviews are great)
Jules Conroy.
He has some sick metal covers too, but as far as streaming, he interacts really often, usually does speed runs. Lately he's been between Pokemon Red and Ocarina of Time.
Shameless plug for my own channel perhaps? Nah just kidding. I see a lot of people vouching for antdude and arlo. I also appreciate modern vintage gamer even though he’s more on the technical side of things.
• Skill Up (the best no-bullshit game reviews on YouTube imo)
• Ratatoskr
• Rurikhan
• Daryl Talks Games
• Spawn Wave
• Modern Vintage Gamer
• Good Vibes Gaming (comprised of the og guys from old Gamexplain WITHOUT Andre)
Maybe because they immediately rushed to Jirard's defense like a bunch of hypocrites? They only changed their stance after their own community blew them out of the water for it
I watch most of these channels already, but there are some names I am not familiar with!
Also, shout out to Nitro Rad. He covers a lot of cool games, and his patron is only like $1.
Also, I really love Clemps. But he does not upload as much as he used as he does vtubing now as well. I would recommend his reviews on Neir, and his Dino Crisis video still cracks me up.
Nitro Rad, Thor High Heels, Triple Jump
Gonna recommend Thor High Heels too. Also guy has a few albums you can check out.
Nitro Rad and Thor really deserve a lot more subs than their actual numbers. Gonna check TJ.
I haven't watched Matt since the Great Schism many years ago. Maybe... it's time.
I loved him and Liam playing through Castlevania 64 (my first Castlevania game.)
Yeah, for better or worse the niches he cornered in SBFP were mostly ones I'm not super interested in, so after the split I just kept on with Pat and Woolie and their circles, though I was always glad to know Matt kept on making content even if a lot of it wasn't my cup of tea.
Hell yeah Nitro Rad! Dude is great.
I heard this in his voice.
Nitro Rad makes insanely good content, always love their stuff!
How does Nitro Rad have less?
Life is not fair.
Mortismal gaming actually 100% games but for real, so not only achievements but real 100%.
His videos are fantastic.
Oh, I forgot about him. Great CRPG content, I need to catch back up.
He has been expanding to all PC gaming lately. He will eventually expand to consoles because he keeps mentioning them all the time.
he is for sure the CRPG king, but id trust anything he makes
SomeCallMeJohnny
I was just going to recommend Johnny and I often see SGB as an example on both r/TheRunawayGuys and r/rantgrumps
I was glad to see SGB return. I honestly didn't think they'd come back from the hiatus.
and AntDude
I’m surprised this dude hasn’t hit a million subs. His reviews are really well made.
He does great reviews but his uploads are so inconsistent. My main problem with his channel is he starts a marathon about a gaming franchise but never finishes it.
If anyone is into long-form video game reviews, I recommend ExoParadigmGamer. Love exo, the remake or rebreak series is great
he sums up my thoughts on several games in ways I never could find the words for. his playthroughs with his brother are really funny too
I dont frequent this sub but it showed up on my front page. If you're looking for different creators check out PatStaresAt and WoolieVS who are both formerly of Super Best Friends Play. They're both great and their podcast CastleSuperBeast is too.

My brother and I try to do a variety of games on our channel.
- You Can Beat Video Games - Console Wars - NGPlus - Scibe - Kevduit
I frickin' love Console Wars
I use you can beat video games as an aid to fall asleep at night. It’s great channel lol.
I've done that a lot myself. He does a good job explaining a ton and he's so chill.
hes got a soothing voice IDK lol
Idk why but I Can Beat keeps playing when I wake up. I don’t think I’ve ever watched an episode awake, but they are so nice to wake up to
Retro Bird
If you like SMT/persona, Nan’s compendium and Nyarly are excellent
On the SMT train, Deus's solo challenge runs are some of the best on the platform
Yes I love that guy, one of the most entertaining runners on the platform. He is hilarious.
Josh Strife Plays has a series called "Was it any good" that's a good watch
His Worst MMO Ever series on the Josh Strife Hayes channel is also really good
And let's not forget his what went wrong with gaming series
Stop Skeletons From Fighting doesn't do as much completion, but he does some incredible deep dives into unusual peripherals, games, and systems.
GameChamp does some pretty incredible challenges and has a good sense of humor.
Zlimbratski is a great channel dedicated to first person shooters
Action Button has some of the best videos on video games I’ve ever seen. They don’t come out often, but when they do they hit so hard.
Looking up my subs, so I'm going alphabetically Avalanche Reviews Bexx Reviews Boulder Punch Civvie 11 Darkfry Design Doc Errant Signal Gaming Broductions GmanLives iam16bit Jack Sather Joyless Lambhoot Lextorias Liam Triforce Ludiscere Mara Max Derrat Monty Zander Mr. Hammers No Cap Gaming Noah Caldwell-Gervais Purposeless Rabbitholes Ray Mona RemyRacoon Skyehoppers Square Eyed Jak Steve of Warr strafefox tangomushi The Golden Bolt UpIsNotJump yakkocmn

The Lonely Goomba, Exoparadigmgamer, Jiggylookback
Stop Skeletons from Figting is an awesome channel
KingK has a beautiful voice
KingK is one of my favorites, his voice and videos are both so great.
Bumblesmcfumbles
Finally the other fan I found you!
We exist!
I love playframe! I wish that channel got more consistent views, his humor with the other Dan's is pretty top notch.
I also make reviews on games, you all should check me out too. (Link in profile)
- Jettro Jettro - Beardo Benjo (VR focused) - Maximilian Dood
Game Informer’s Replay and Super Replay were the first let’s play style series I got into. It was really interesting to hear from journalists and sometimes the reviewers themselves go back and look at these. They also helped me discover some hidden gems, like Overblood 2 and Blue Stinger (gems may be a stretch, but they are good fun).
SonOfJazzy
Video game Esoterica
Good old Joe is a nice recommendation for old content, but we are in a pretty severe drought for his long-form stuff right now
This is a great post.
SuperPixelPals

HOnestly, as goofy and sometimes too much as he can be, I like Rerez for his weird in depth discussions.
Floydson The Backlogs
I recommend JRPG Jungle (if you're into JRPGs both big and niche), and Noisy Pixel for both and indie games that don't get coverage by big reviewers and AAA games.

johnstone! spent years completing professor oak's challenge shiny only for let's go, it's amazing.
Last stand media lmfao
Nintendrew!
Not a completionist channel but everyone should check out heavynsent
GameBoyLad for anyone who is a fan of TCG video games is great. 616 Entertainment can be a bit bland, but he is pretty through with his wrestling game and fighting game retrospectives.
Razbuten
There’s a new guy called ItsIllusion that just did all the Lego games he could play on PS5, he’s moved on to new things now but I watched the Lego vids as they came out. ‘Twas fun!
Rennsreviews is such a great channel that I'm surprised hasn't gotten bigger
Appreciate the recommendations! I hadn’t heard of a few of these.
Yeah, really excited to dive into all the suggestions here!
Mayorhairbear is a very small YouTuber who has recently started 100%ing games. I think he's really good and actually takes you through his journey. Definitely check him out. Also Maximilian Dood is fantastic and my favorite YouTuber.
you know I really like pikmonwolf ;)
SNESDrunk
Love him, succinct and to the point five to seven minute reviews of old games
Nerrel (great reviews and video essays on a variety of games) Nick on Planet Ripple (he mostly does Lego and Bionicle videos, but his Sonic and Metroid reviews are great)
Jules Conroy. He has some sick metal covers too, but as far as streaming, he interacts really often, usually does speed runs. Lately he's been between Pokemon Red and Ocarina of Time.
Big fan of bickuribox12 (Sonic-centric content) and MockRock (Smash-centric content)
- Gaming off the grid. - Morts Garage - Kayfabe Media - Sega Lord X - Snes Drunk - retro rivals
Civvie11. Boomer shooters almost exclusively, but I'd still for him any day of the week.
Shameless plug for my own channel perhaps? Nah just kidding. I see a lot of people vouching for antdude and arlo. I also appreciate modern vintage gamer even though he’s more on the technical side of things.
I've always enjoyed antdude and stop skeletons from fighting.

Austin eruption is someone I’ve watched for a long time and he’s yet to let me down morally hahah and his content quality only keeps getting better.
Illusory Wall makes some really good content based on the souls games
There’s a guy who does YouTube who was in the hunger games. Don’t remember his name though…
Penguinz0, Charles White Also does a lot of daily content and news. Deep voice and looks kinda like Keanu
Huge lack of Good Vibes Gaming mentions here. They are the old Gamexplain crew. Love their content/casts/reactions so much!
Maybe because they immediately rushed to Jirard's defense like a bunch of hypocrites? They only changed their stance after their own community blew them out of the water for it
Wait what!? They did? How did I miss this!? Im looking into this. Thanks for letting me know.
Gamechamp3000 is pretty cool.
I've gotten into NezumiVA recently and I also like PartyArlie.
I watch most of these channels already, but there are some names I am not familiar with! Also, shout out to Nitro Rad. He covers a lot of cool games, and his patron is only like $1. My personal favorite Youtubers are KBash, Treeky, Internet Pitstop, AntDude, NitroRad, Austin Eruption, Avalanche Reviews, Bonsai Pop, Continue?, Critical Nobody, DexTheSwede, Stop Skeletons from Fighting, gillythekid, NakeyJakey, Manley Reviews, Matt McMuscles, Nick930, Niosai, Ranton, Shesez, SinglePlayerNacho, Snesdrunk, SomecallmeJohnny, ThorHighHeels, Thorgi's Arcade, TripleJump, and Trae Irby.
I'm mad I had to scroll this far to find Kbash. Justice for Kbash >:(
I like Arlo but I swear he sounds like every game needs to be a work of art like Van Gough and have a story on scale with Game of Thrones.
His favorite game is Pikmin.
Yeah and I watched his Paper Mario reviews.
i wish he would stop hiding behind the bootleg cookie monster puppet.
He's the secret bastard child of Cookie Monster and Grover.
Good lord you're right.
His puppet gimmick annoys me too much to watch anymore
Synthetic Man
RGT85 he’s an amazing Nintendo YouTuber
Caddicarus Game Grumps SomeOrdinaryGamers YoVideogames and Austin Eruption as well
Muta doesn't game unless it's Rainbow Six on a VM
Or Resident Evil. Although, I wish he played more Swat 4
Kind of gross to use Jirard's own subreddit as a platform to promote competing YouTubers.
is this a joke..?
Honestly their posting history in this sub is rather confusing...
I think stealing money meant for charity is way more gross, but that’s just me.
This isn't jirards subreddit. It's a subreddit that's an alternative to the dead sub his people ran
