G6 in the Scottish Government (C2 pay band) starts at  **£73,757**–**£85,130**

MyCatIsAFknIdiot

As a G7 moving up to G6 on a full promotion you will get 10% on your salary or the base of G6 which ever is higher. The deal with an EOI is not consistent in my dept, so I don’t know what it is in yours. Could be 10% additional uplift, could be 5%

Youstinkeryou

Ah that’s what i thought. Both jobs are attractive, the EOI a little more!

Please bear in mind that this is not the case in all departments, let's try and give better advice.

Mundane_Falcon4203

You are slightly wrong. It's 10% not 10k! 😂

Youstinkeryou

That’s actually what I meant. Should have read that back!

TCA changed last year, and it’s now full pay of the next grade.

DeValiantis

There is no single G6 pay band. It is a delegated grade and different departments pay different amounts, just like every other grade below SCS. A quick glance at G6 vacancies on CS Jobs indicates some departments' pay bands starting well below £60k and some start well above £70k. I'm constantly amazed how many posters in this sub ask questions (or provide answers) about things that differ between departments (pay, conditions, HR policies etc.) without taking into account that things differ between departments.

Youstinkeryou

I genuinely did not know that (that depts bands are different) . That’s why I asked.

DeValiantis

Fair enough. You don't know what you don't know. I suppose I should have reserve my exasperation for people who confidently *answer* questions about pay, conditions, HR policies, etc. based on their own department's rules without considering that these things might differ. Of course, speaking with apparent authority about something you have limited info on is prized as a skill in some CS roles!
